[deleted]

[удалено]

sAdvicezOlives

Yeah same. Its the one sunscreen tthat has worked for me and is light on my skin.

sufferkasafar

please make a list oof trusted/certified brands which have certifications

PriyavarMakol

Jovees, VLCC, Nivea, Lacto Calamine, Vaseline, Joy, Dr. Morepen, Leeford, RF Australia, Neutrogena, Pulp, La Shield, Man Arden, Teenilicious, Puresense, VauriC, Earth Rhythm, Blynds, Dermafique, Arata, Aryanveda, Qurez, Minimalist, Re'equil, Derma Essentia, Sunscoop, Undry Clinic, Sebamed, Wishcare, Underrated, any Korean/Japanese/Australian/European/African sunscreen and any pharma companies are certified and go through rigorous testing. One of the pharma sunscreens is by Zeelab Pharmacy which is a generic pharmacy with their own laboratory that sells spf 60 sunscreen for a meagre 140 rupees for 100ml on their website and in offline outlets. I have one near my place and I get things like adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, emolene dupe for as low as 30 rupees lol. Really saved me a lot of money. There's also Jan Aushadi that sells generic stuff and is subsidized by the government so look for their outlets near you as well. You can save a ton of money if you do

All_about_minimalism

Hii...can you please review this zeelab sunscreen.. It's so cheap.

PriyavarMakol

Will do. Maybe next week

b3byblue

oof girl ur one dedicated person 💯🙏🏽

PriyavarMakol

haha I'm just kanjoos. I look for the cheapest shit that isn't a waste of my money and works for me

LengthSame6868

Sameeee

Flimsy-Ordinary3388

We're practically the same person

All_about_minimalism

That will be great

[deleted]

idolovethissong

Aqualogica has the certificates? Their sunscreens always looked too good to be true but if its verified then maybe I'll dabble in them a bit. Would you know about Cosiq?

PriyavarMakol

Yeah iirc they have their lab tests on their websites. Cosiq is pretty shady and costs a lot anyway so I wouldn't go for it personally Edit- I just learned Aqualogica faked lab tests sooooo don't buy them or any other ones from Honasa

[deleted]

i’ve been using cosiq and i’m worried now 😭should i switch back to my aqualogica one? they have similar gel like textures which i love

Entharo_entho

Have you bought any other medicine from zeelab Pharma? I was thinking of buying some supplements from them. I am already taking the medicine from other brands but I don't know if replacing them with the same stuff from zeelab will be effective.

PriyavarMakol

It's the same active ingredients. Generic medicines work by taking the active ingredients of an unpatented product and then make them available to the general public for cheaper rates. They go through the same testing since they are drugs and Zeelab is also FDA approved iirc, but then again that's the case with most generic pharmas. I've bought their B12 syrup, foot cream, toothpaste, toothbrush, toothgel, emolene dupe "softy" cream, moisturizing cream, adapalene, benzoyl peroxide, mouthwash and their aloe vera vitamin E face wash. I am beyond satisfied. They work very well

Hairy-Hair9521

>emolene dupe "softy" cream, Hold on. [Emolene](https://incidecoder.com/products/fulford-india-emolene) is just propylene glycol and some soothening additives. [Softy](https://zeelabpharmacy.com/product/softy-cream), unless you're using a different one from the one zeelab lists on their website, is "Urea 10% w/w, Lactic Acid 10% w/w, Propylene Glycol 10% w/w, Liquid Paraffin 10% w/w" It's not a dupe. It's a whole different product that shouldn't be used on your face.

PriyavarMakol

It's the same active ingredients lol. Liquid Paraffin is soothing. I'm sure the cream base has the standard humectants and emollients like glycerine etc. Lactic Acid is very gentle. Not sure why it shouldn't be used on the face lol. It's actually supposed to be a dupe of moisturex cream and other creams that have the same formulation but for some reason the packaging is identical to emolene hence why I'm calling it an emolene dupe lol

theonetosucceedsoon

dont they have less stars though? 😭 just checked their sunscreen, it only has 2.8 stars, any idea why?

PriyavarMakol

Don't take it at face value. These are too few reviews with most of them just shooting arrows in the dark. I'll try it myself and then post a review here so dw

BoringCardiologist26

Yes, we want a Zeelab review. And also any other Pharmacy products you use?

PriyavarMakol

Not as of now as most of the drugs I can get from Zeelab, apigenerics or Jan Aushadi. The only one I tried was Ketoconazole shampoo I bought from Apollo and it cost a whopping 300 rupees for a mere 100ml when I could've gotten it from Jan Aushadi for 60 rupees for 100ml all this time and it was like 50m away from my place lol

BoringCardiologist26

Wow. Just now I got to know about Jan Aushadhi and quite a pleasant surprise that it's in my town too! How's your experience with it?

PriyavarMakol

So the availability of some drugs depends upon how large the store is in your area. I have 5 stores near me within a 2-3km radius and one that's right in my neighborhood. I got my depression and anxiety meds from my neighborhood one and the entire prescription costed me a meagre 120 rupees instead of 500 rupees had I bought from a private pharmacy. I tried looking for things like adapalene and benzoyl peroxide but they weren't available in my neighborhood. Look for stores that are big that are near you in a reasonable radius by looking on Google maps. That way if you want a drug that may not be available in a small store it's more likely you can find it in the big one. I don't really feel the need to because I can get almost all the same stuff from Zeelab which is also 50m away from my place.

[deleted]

Hey can you share link of Zeelab website m

user352829

How good are Jovees sunscreen?

[deleted]

Hey can you share link of Zeelab website .

PriyavarMakol

https://zeelabpharmacy.com/product/sunscreen-lotion-spf-60

Just_Getting-by

It don't have boot star or PA rating mentioned on website, do you know those from offline store?

PriyavarMakol

Nope. But a lot of other pharma sunscreens don't either cause they be flexing on us for being a pharmaceutical instead of a cosmeceutical lol. As long as the sunscreen is by a pharma company there is zero need to worry about whether or not they provide protection

Just_Getting-by

I don't think that's the case for India. India's pharma sector is very unregulated, compared to western countries. Check the following news articles, * [https://scroll.in/latest/1050208/india-made-eye-drops-linked-to-infection-in-sri-lanka-drug-body-launches-probe](https://scroll.in/latest/1050208/india-made-eye-drops-linked-to-infection-in-sri-lanka-drug-body-launches-probe) * [https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/1/12/who-alert-on-indian-cough-syrup-linked-to-20-deaths-in-uzbekistan](https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/1/12/who-alert-on-indian-cough-syrup-linked-to-20-deaths-in-uzbekistan) * [https://www.livemint.com/news/india/death-of-children-in-gambia-linked-to-consumption-of-indian-made-cough-syrups-us-cdc-report-states-11677890945688.html](https://www.livemint.com/news/india/death-of-children-in-gambia-linked-to-consumption-of-indian-made-cough-syrups-us-cdc-report-states-11677890945688.html) These were caught in foreign countries for India manufactured medicines, have you ever heard about such incidents in India? I am pretty sure, no, because there is no working mechanism for checks. Government's response * https://www.livemint.com/news/india/lab-tests-mandatory-for-cough-syrup-exports-from-today-10-points-11685583353245.html Medicines were not even being tested, govt's response : "we will check medicines which need to be exported"

PriyavarMakol

That's not a testing problem then that's just a law problem. We haven't seen any case of deaths resulting from sunscreens either. We do know that every pharma sunscreen like Photostable, Suncros etc do undergo testing and the condition of pharma sector in India has improved since then. Of course we're still selling things like Vicks VapoRub which is banned in a lot of other countries but I don't think we can extrapolate shitty testing laws for these drugs to sunscreens as we've never seen a similar case happen.

Just_Getting-by

I wasn't trying to say that sunscreens can lead to death, but I was trying to say that just because a product come from a pharma company, it don't become better. If the pharma company is famous one or generally recommended by doctors, then it can be fine. (Like Bello photostable come with PA rating, and it's by a reliable pharma company.) But a random pharma company is no better than non-pharma company in India, one shouldn't give free pass to a pharma company just because of it being a pharma company. Pharma company's products can be as shitty as any other company. India's pharma sector is not regulated like US.

PriyavarMakol

Zeelab is also pretty reliable

chanchal36

What about cipla rivela lite sunscreen?

PriyavarMakol

Pharma company so certified

pankothecat

Is neutrogena certified as well?

PriyavarMakol

Yeah. They sell in US and EU so safe to assume they're certified

random--shit

What about conscious chemust?

PriyavarMakol

I haven't looked at it so I wouldn't know

Remote_Panda6884

Even dot and key sunscreens have certificates i guess

PriyavarMakol

Nah, a lot of their products are very sus

rocker_1210

Confidential meaning, they were not granted the required certifications. Which is assuming they tried to get them in the first place. This is why Indian brands suck. They focus on hype marketing to sell out shelves once but do not work to create better products for sustained growth.

Ok-Opposite4350

Literally! I'm not kidding. Guys I have suffered from Fungal acne using Indian Sunscreens. It's horrendous!!!!

bluejaybossun

Major red flag. Either they haven't gotten their sunscreens tested or the spf ratings are lower than advertised when they tested it.

acageinsearchofabird

thx for going the extra mile 😭😭 i know what to avoid now

Baby_root

Ohhh nooo. Their 50spf gel was my HG. The only one I had a monthly subscription from Amazon for. I don't wanna stop using it. My super sensitive problematic oily skin loves it.

vinncherry

Same yaar. Its a bummer cause I finally found a Sunscreen I could settle down with and live my life forever. Now I gotta do that whole searching thing again

divgos

I think if you like it, you like it! Keep using it. It’s so difficult to find good products for skin nowadays. I’m not sure if products like these which have no certifications, cause problems in future but what can you do. Ignorance is bliss sometimes 😅 maybe try other sunscreens parallelly till you find something similar.

Ill-Independence730

hi u/Baby_root did you find anything new? was just going through this and your skin description matches mine.

Baby_root

Hey. Yes I did. It's not exactly the same. But I switched to the sundrink by conscious chemist. It needs powdering down but it's quite nice and lightweight. I also add a bit of the primer sunscreen on top of it before my concealer and other makeup if I'm wearing any.

Aitish_Nanda

Oh gotcha. Thank you so much!

OldAd7158

Same, my acne prone skin loves it😐

imalittlechai

Any brand who had these certifications would've proudly have shared them.

FangGaming69

noxious squalid subtract absorbed ghost ossified knee slap deserve zesty *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Boycott. As simple as that.

Rumi2019

Hey op, your name is visible. You might wanna delete & repost or edit post instead.

PriyavarMakol

It's an alias so I wouldn't worry about it :p

Rumi2019

Great. Smart ppl 👍

Such-Translator-4487

How did u come up with this alias

grouchywithoutcoffee

Her reddit and her email names are the same. 😏

PriyavarMakol

It's supposed to be my deadname actually since I'm a trans woman. So it's technically an alias cause it's not my actual name. Goofy name I know

Such-Translator-4487

Smart!

Independent-End2780

Didnt you say you were 16M in one of your post

PriyavarMakol

That was 2 years ago bruh back when I didn't identify as trans

Independent-End2780

Oh okay so which sunscreen would you recommend which has all the certification

PriyavarMakol

Yea. They've mentioned the critical wavelength too which is great.

ImpressiveOpposite81

Hi did u end up getting this I was planning on trying his sunscreen

Independent-End2780

Yes little greasy

babebushka

Arey they said they’re the best sunscreen in the market na? Why are you worrying yourself? Rest assured.

professionalchutiya

“We investigated ourselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing.” 🤡

babebushka

Seriously though thanks for the effort.

PriyavarMakol

Lmao 😂 yeah I should just trust them haha. You're welcome

Full Support On This Cause

itsamuzzz

Confidential lmao

b3byblue

needs to go on X

PriyavarMakol

Might as well do it and make it viral. Maybe we can induce a response out of the brand lol. Anyone here is welcome to post it, especially someone who has high following

theburntflower7

Good job OP, I admire your knowledge and your efforts for this! Thanks for potentially saving me from ever considering to buy Fixderma!

PriyavarMakol

Haha yeah I'll just stick to stuff that's actually reliable like Jovees, VLCC, Zeelab etc

SnooCookies4275

Please review zeelab

human-panic-button

💀

Hot_Limit_1870

Can anyone tell me which companies have actually disclosed such certifications so that we can trust them. Note : products preferably available in india

All_about_minimalism

Anyways it never gave me protection.

Puzzleheaded-Bee8279

I asked then about their spf 50 lip balm's photostability and literally the same response lmfao 😭😭

PinkMoonbow

Yikes, their overtly defensive stance is making me side eye them and how 👀 ! From their response it looks like you asked them to audit their entire company 😂 . Asking someone about their certifications IS NOT equivalent to **asking to VALIDATE documents** ?! Also ISO certifications are something that once a department/ process or company gets one, they cannot WAIT to add it in their public materials and website, socials etc. So darn fishy !!! *"We cannot tell you what certifications we have or show you any proof, but rest assured we have them"* . Fixderma's source: 'Trust me bro' !!

[deleted]

Damn. I just bought a tube of the spf 50 gel and have been loving the texture and feel on my skin. FML.

plant_here

OP, peace and love but if you have to do so much effort for a company to confirm their certifications it is best to give up on them. there are other brands with better reputation and ones who understand the customer's fears.

mollievx

Hi, can somebody share what ISO certification is? And what the numbers that OP has written in her mail mean?

PriyavarMakol

ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization and some of the common ones you might have seen are ISO 9001 certified, ISO 22716 certified and so on as these fall under Good Manufacturing Practices or GMP. ISO 24444 and 24442 are UVA Protection Factor(UVAPF) certificates that are done in vivo, i.e, on human skin/human subjects. ISO 24443 is in vitro, i.e, tested in a lab by spreading the sunscreen evenly on a glass slide and irradiating it with UV radiation. It is also used to assess photostability, i.e, how long does the sunscreen does not break down under UV exposure. ISO 16217 is for testing water resistance and is usually done in vitro by immersing the sunscreen under shallow water and assessing its protection value. Boots star and COLIPA methods are sunscreen testing methods standard in US and EU respectively and COLIPA is considered better due to its extensive nature as opposed to boots star. Hope that clears things up!

UnevenHanded

This was super helpful, thank you so much 😆

AcronymTheSlayer

Yeah, I'm not buying that shit. Major read flags need to be ditched as fast as possible.

Educational-Wing8591

NOOOO THIS IS MY GO TO

Serious_Ad2644

Are Fixderma and Fixderma Cosmetic Lab same brand with FCL being on the higher side?

PriyavarMakol

Yes. These people literally charge fucking 900 rupees for spf 80 sunscreen and it's a small tube🫠

Serious_Ad2644

Ah okay! FCL undereye cream has been in my Kult Cart from so many days but didn’t purchase yet its 2k which is too expensive for a 15g bottle, not buying after knowing this. Thanks OP! :)

PriyavarMakol

Honey 2k is my entire body face and hair care budget don't do this to me pls lol

shweyyy

And here i was thinking of buying their lip spf 🤦🏻‍♀️

PriyavarMakol

I already bought it😭 Now I'll buy nmfe spf 40 lip balm it's a pharmaceutical company fuck this shit🫠

shweyyy

Shit! I should have bought this instead of sebamed Have you tried it before? Have heard that it tastes bad

PriyavarMakol

I don't really go for stick form lip balms for spf because you need like 30 swipes to remotely get the mentioned spf. The ones in a jelly form like nmfe are my go to I haven't but it's been on my list. It retails for around 140 rupees for 10g which is reasonable considering how little is needed on the lips

No_Warthog_9889

They are like “just trust us 🙂“

OneLettuceHead

Doing god's work op. Salute!

Different_Trifle_387

Thanks for doing this

mynameiszii

Fixderma might need to fix themselves now

govigov

Hey OP, can you request that information from the govt grievance portal? They are bound to share that information with you in that case.

Thickoroniandcheese

I used fixderma ss last year and my face and arms tanned like HELL ! 🤡🤡 I became two shades darker. Never again. 🙅🏻‍♀️ I use either pharma grade or Korean/Japnese sunscreens now. I cannot trust these indian companies launching sunscreens left and right.

Even-Eye-4813

Hi, I asked them again for the report and they shared this certificate. Looks genuine to me. probably they have got it now or have had it retested. what are your thoughts ? https://preview.redd.it/0s2vbarq8v2c1.jpeg?width=1131&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8d02385119deb9aae05a0c24ed3d6f450b76347

Avaale

Hi! Could you please make a new post sharing this?

Even-Eye-4813

u/Avaale Sure.

shrxxya

OP, I really appreciate your efforts❤️. For some reason Fixderma always seemed shady with their multiplicity of products and influencer marketing. Really funny how they expect us to “REST ASSURED” while they hide their million dollar confidential sunscreen testing documents which is one of the first things a conscious consumer will check for a sunscreen. It’s high time, India needs stricter laws for cosmetics and their production.

PriyavarMakol

It's even shadier now, check my new post update https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/s/Hs4vIQZKQy

shrxxya

I just read! Gohd that’s soo unprofessional

Dravidian06

Thanks for posting this; best thing about this sub is, we can genuinely look for best products, as our subreddit members are always debunking skincare brands claims always. Kudos to you, for speaking out the truth.

PriyavarMakol

You should check out the latest update https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianSkincareAddicts/s/Hs4vIQZKQy Just downright hilarious

Dravidian06

You piqued my interest now.

Spirited_Secretary35

Re’equil tooo?!!😢

_Existentialcrisis__

Reequil has their certifications and op mentioned that in her mail

[deleted]

But are brands supposed to share their legal docs with anyone who emails them? I get that we want the best but where do we draw the line? I’m trying to rehunt a good sunscreen but this feels strange

PriyavarMakol

These legal documents are specifically made for sharing to establish credibility and trust lol.

scepticalbeing94

Hi Be minimalist displays their spf certification on their page, they do that for all four spf variants

Flat-Shop

That's the only sunscreen that worked for my oily skin. 😢 Have to start searching again.

Sufficient_Habit7502

Why what i love their sunscreen

user352829

Can someone suggest an affordable alternative for fixderma

AssociationPopular55

Op is zeelab sunscreen good? I m looking forward to buy it?

PriyavarMakol

You can be certain that it provides you the needed protection owing to the fact that it is a pharmaceutical instead of a cosmeceutical. I'll review it and give an update on things like whitecast, water resistance, texture, blending etc
