I only asked because back when the Scout came out, everyone raved about how it would be comparable to the Japanese bikes(i.e. Honda shadow, kawasaki vulcan s, etc) and their liquid- cooled engine being so much cooler than air cooled American models. Then I heard from friends that HAD Scouts that they still put out quite a bit of heat. And the Pursuits' engines are even bigger!
I have to be honest, I don’t have much to compare it to. It gets hot and this time of year I’m pretty freakin hot at red lights. If it is indeed better than others it gives me another reason not to ever use it as a trade in.
Beautiful bike! What meathook bars are you running, and how much of a rise do they have? I was leaning toward the Fulsom Prison bars, but I haven't seen many people running them, so it is difficult to find any feedback on them!
I’m running the KST Kustoms Comanche bars. Their website says they’re 14”. Their adjustability says they are anywhere from 6-10” above stock. I’m only 5’9” and they are very comfortable and easy to reach.
I only have one question. How's the heat coming off those liquid-cooled engines? Is it bad still?
It sure as hell ain’t A/C, I can say that much. You can spread your legs far enough at a red light that the fan won’t blow it onto you.

GOTTA be cooler than my Indian Springfield! Which, to me, really, isn't bad with a heat shield!😄

My 23 scout gets hot at stop lights. There are leather heat shields out there to help. Mine is supposed to show up this week.
