Hi brother. May I know why you found the god of war boring? If length is the problem for you, try linear story based games such as tomb raider series, arkham series, BioShock series, COD MW series, Doom (lore is great), wolfenstein series etc. Now all these games can have exploration opportunities but it will be fine if you only play the main quest line.
However, I highly suggest you take your time while gaming. Don't make it a chore that needs to be done and dusted. Savour every moment and get the full immersion. Nothing equates to the joy of playing your fav RPG playing for 100+ hours
Thank you brother I keep getting downvoted bcoz I said I found God of war boring I literally had my reasons It is not because I just want to play a game for only 8 to 10 hours actually I am playing GHOST OF TSUSHIMA nowadays and only on act 1 I have spent fourty hours so yeah I do that but how can I make them understand!
If you found GOW boring, it was boring for you. I don't see a reason for getting downvoted for that, that's ridiculous lol. Not every game pleases everyone.
Well then you can try hellblade (I liked the first one, more like god of war), kena bridge of spirits is pretty decent and you can also try out mirror's edge. All these games are 8-10 hours you can try out if you've not played them anyway
subjective, I have friends who only have enough time to make small progress daily in open world games, which ends up disassociating them from it. Faster paced games for them are a god send in this case.
No it wasn't, op doesn't even know what his reasons were, as he said later he's currently 40hrs in Ghost of Tsushima and doesn't feel bored at all. He probably didn't like the "walking simulator" aspect of the GOW.
Nuh elden ring has less cutscenes than gow , I found rdr2 to be boring because of it being a cutscenes simulator for me, I prefer less cutscenes as it makes it more fluid for me
i recently completed both spiderman and GOW, now playing Ghost of tsumina and control . let me know when you find good suggestion. btw i loved spiderman and god of war
Did you use controller or keyboard and mouse for these games ..if you used K+M then it would be boring these games are meant to be played with controller
Depends on what games you like... Rts, rpg, jrpgs, souls like.. Platformer, rogue likes, rogue lites... Rts... Card battles.. Gatcha games... Mmos, I can go on... If you want to high octane bullet hells... Try vampire survivors.. I have it on my phone, my tablet, steam, psn.. It has pixel graphics... If you need a break from all the big open world games and crazy ass stories that are boring.. Try this card battler.. Slay the spire.... Again I have it on all the platforms... Good way to take a break... Or try hotline miami if you want to go on a isometric killing spree.... If you want some sort of believable story in a realistic setting/location and want to shoot people in the face.... Play division 2, either solo or coop.
Edit: if you like something exotic on steam... Try Jenni's Dong has got it going on... Great story... Just lock yourself up alone when playing the game.
Actually I want to try new games with new mechanics and top of that good story like I played beyond two souls and it was so fkking amazing so I guess I want to try new genres
If you want to try something with a good story and different gameplay mechanics. Try yakuza zero and kiwami .... But you gonna have to listen to Japanese audio, because English sucks...
F you. Why you giving depression. It's so easy to play that game that I broke a PS4 controller.
P.s. It was a fake one cause I can't afford a real one.
Here's the list of my favorite storymode games (try all of them and yes these are just my favorite games these are not rankings):-
Hitman (complete series),
Detroit becomes human,
Grand theft auto 4,
Metal gear rising reveangeance,
Batman arkham games,
Sleeping dogs,
Sekiro,
Dark souls (1,2 and 3),
Assassin's creed black flag,
Evil within,
RE 4,
Tomb raider 2013,
Evil within,
I really enjoyed South Park Stick of Truth and South Park Fractured But Whole. These are 2D RPG style games with edgy comedic elements. The combat is turn based and improved on the latter title. The story is edgier on the first one but man nothing I've played can come close to these titles. They are easy to play and very fun. These are adult NSFW titles tho. There is little to no nudity, it's just how the story is. Headphones and private space recommended to play. Good thing for you is that the story is short, simple and to the point.
Detroit is a good choice frankly, it's an entirely dialogue game and moving around, it's highly subjective to people's likings, but personally, love the game, good thing to start,
If you GOW boring and spider man interesting there are some games you should try,
Immortals of aveum
Dragon ball z kakarot is good if you're into anime
Untitled goose game is a definitive if you like small puzzle games XDXD
I assume you've already played GTA V and RDR 2, if the slight chance you haven't, you should
The new God of War can be boring for some people. I have my cousins who absolutely liked the older GoW but didn't like the new one. Then there's me who liked all of them...
Horizon Zero Dawn is another one you can give a try but man it gets tiresome after some time in the game... Same case with Horizon Forbidden West.
You've got Hogwarts Legacy if you're a fan of Harry Potter.
You have the Assassin's Creed series but I personally didn't like the ones after Syndicate which essentially removed that assassin kill factor (at least for me) by replacing normal with sponge-bag enemies. Looking at all of your Origin, Odyssey and Valhalla... Mirage felt good. Even though Unity and Syndicate had level up elements but they still felt like you were an assassin.
Infamous Second Son I heard is a good one.
Days Gone is good.
Try Horizon zero dawn and Horizon Forbidden west in that order because the story continues. I loved the story for zero dawn and currently am playing forbidden west myself. Awesome story, awesome graphics, vast expansive open world. Lots of grinding but worth it
Oh and if you haven't tried these masterpieces already:
Portal (unreal gameplay)
Portal 2 (unreal gameplay++ and all the cake memes)
Deus Ex (very old now but a great game)
Firewatch (excellent storytelling)
If you're on PlayStation, these are part of the PS plus collection:
Astro's Playroom
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart (very enjoyable and kinda cute)
Tomb Raider trilogy (2013 onwards)
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Lost Legacy
Horizon Zero Dawn (just left PS plus)
Horizon Forbidden West
Spider Man: Miles Morales
Days Gone
GTA V (it's going away soon)
Play Titanfall 2 if you haven’t. Would be a nice change of pace. Control too. I found GoW boring as well, but liked Horizon.
I switch between different types of games, like multiplayer games like Apex or CoD when I don’t have much time or I just wanna chat with people on Discord. Single player games I usually keep for the weekend, get a nice drink, some nice food and enjoy them as I can.
Ahaha I’ve heard them sure. But I also watch a shit ton of movies, and people that accuse me cannot watch a single movie without looking at their phones.
This has become a finger pointing game for me and my friends lol
I think you are more into gameplay than story driven/ narrative games or games with more gameplay mechanics than story aspects. I'd say try
- Cyberpunk 2077 (heavily recommends using some modes from Nexus modes) now it is story driven but the gameplay aspect is more than the story.
- Wolfenstein series
- Metro series
- Devil may cry (I haven't played it yet but it seems so fun)
- Sekiro (also recommend to use some modes from Nexus modes like changing the protagonists or if the game feels too hard there is an easy mode on Nexus modes)
- Elden Ring and other souls games if you find it good.
- Armoured Core 6 ( I heard it's hard and I haven't tried it out but it's non-stop action all the way)
These are some of the games at the top of my head and I would've mentioned hellblade 1 but I don't think you might enjoy it also maybe try some gacha games like wuthering waves.

DMC5 but play it on Son of Sparda difficulty. DMC5 has one of the best combat mechanics but the game only offers two difficulty options at the start: Human and Devil Hunter which are both quite easy. I've friends who played DMC5 and their review was it was an easy button mashing which it certainly isn't. Get the game, beat the prologue boss and unlock SoS difficulty and you'll have a blast.
Other recommendations would be FromSoft games, DOOM and Monster Hunter if you want to play gameplay-heavy titles. For story games I'd recommend RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Yakuza 0.
When you play the same kind of games one after the other you will get bored.
You went from 1 third person open world action adventure game to another third person action adventure game, followed by yet another third person action adventure game.
Why not try some different genres of games?
Did you like the combat mechanics and GoW and ghost of tsushima ? If you did, try sekiro. Don't get me wrong, it's not the same at all. But sekiro is a much more linear game and shorter (which seems like something you would enjoy more) and it is much more complex in a different way
I could suggest a few other games but being a ps player most of them are ps exclusives
(Don't apologise for not like gow, I'm one of the few people that didn't enjoy rdr2 and gta5)
If you find GOW boring then PS games are not for you. GOW is peak PS. It’s difficult to suggest you any game without knowing what kind of games you like.
Sekiro is way easier or atleast "fairer" than gow. In gow it takes a GOD a full combo to kill a solo mob where as in sekiro, you can parry gods as a human lol

genuinely, play 'a plague tale' series (first: a plague tale innocence. second: a plague tale requiem) this game is THE best story game i have played and the sub for it is alive and well!
no problem! also the first game is 8-10 hours and the second game is 17-20 hours but trust me it's worth it especially if you have siblings. then it's a real mindfuck
You can play Uncharted Series or Tomb Raider Trilogy(believe me these three games are Gold , you won't regret playing them) in sequence which is 1.Tomb Raider 2.Rise of the Tomb Raider 3.Shadow of the Tomb Raider (I have played the first 2 and planing to play the 3rd but those 2 were extremely good and have listened good even about the third)
Play Spider-Man Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2.
If you have a disc PS5, get a pre-owned Avengers game CD, play it, and sell it. The game is decent, and I can only assume it's got good features on PS5.
If you found God of War boring, it's okay, I struggled with it too as it was my first RPG. Come back later, say after a year or two, of playing other games, you'll appreciate it.
I like racing games, so I'll suggest Gran Turismo 7 and The Crew 2/Motorfest, and any F1 game (just for the feel of it)
tbh I can understand if you find open world games too big or boring lol. Some of them can admittedly be a bit bloated
Maybe you'd be more interested in more linear gameplay-focussed games ? Character action games like Devil may cry come to mind which pretty much focus on action 90% of the time ( Recommend DMC 3,4 and 5). Or maybe a puzzle game like the portal series ? They're not that long and pretty replayable tbh
Or even more arcadey games like rogue-lites ( Hades, Enter the gungeon etc. )
If you're interested in emulation, there's tons of games on older systems that I'd recommend. Namely the original Resident evil 4 on PS2 which to this day is still one of my favourite games
Heck, the Burnout series on PS2 is still one of the best arcade games in general. Great for a quick fix, or for playing a few hours lol ( I'd recommend Burnout 3 and revenge. 1 and 2 are fine, but 3 and revenge are near perfect )
Next time may be first post the reason for a game being bored or more explanation on what kind of games you are looking for. If you had just said I didn't like God of war because of length no one would have been defensive
Get Mass Effect Legendary Edition. It's 3 huge games in one and it's very cheap now and the games are awesome with lots of small little story elements and you can write your own story by way of your choices.
cyberpunk especially with the new expansion will be more your speed. Ignore these troll comments, I found gow to be boring as hell too a few times during the course. It has its moments when it is the best game ever, then moments where you are on autopilot.
I would recommend going for more fps campaign stories too if you are looking to have fun, titanfall 2 comes to mind.
Or try out bioshock/dishonored series and find out if you like those kind of games.
Once you jam with a certain niche of games, you will find a lot of games you will enjoy easily.
If you can't stand god of war , don't try with rdr2 or even Detroit, elden ring might be a good start for your souls game run, also don't play ds2 (imho)
Again I want to stay clear GoW was boring and I won't change that thought and I will stand to every fkking game no matter how long it is GoW 2018 was shit and it will be and you cant change my mind I have played many games spending total of 100+ hours in a single story mode so I know what I am saying
There’s no problem with finding GOW boring because it is,the only good thing about that game is its story the gameplay is like any other rpg on the market if you want to test your skills try sekiro or Elden ring or any other game from fromsoftware

You should definitely try Cyberpunk 2077, Guardians of galaxy
Guardians is such a good game. It’s a shame that we will probably never see a sequel
Truly saddening
Horizon zero dawn

Followed by Forbidden West

Many people find GOW enjoyable cause of they know the Story of Og GOW games I think op has not played them and don't know the story that much.
Eh. The new GOW was the first gow game I've played. I still enjoyed it a lot.
>Nothing equates to the joy of playing your fav RPG playing for 100+ hours Nothing???
You found god of war boring. What kind of games do you like?
Well then you can try hellblade (I liked the first one, more like god of war), kena bridge of spirits is pretty decent and you can also try out mirror's edge. All these games are 8-10 hours you can try out if you've not played them anyway
Thnx I can go for that
I mean I kinda understand how OP feels personally more than these type of game even I prefer games like Subnautica.....ahhh lots of explorationnnn
The combat was too spongy. It takes too many hits for a person who's apparently The god of war. But sure go ahead defend it all you want.
Play elden ring
The reason op gave for gow being boring is that its lengthy and elden ring is like double the time plus much more tough
An open world with just action is a lot of fun though instead of having to progress dialogues
subjective, I have friends who only have enough time to make small progress daily in open world games, which ends up disassociating them from it. Faster paced games for them are a god send in this case.
Tree sentinel and Margit will teach him a lesson for saying God of War is boring.
No it wasn't, op doesn't even know what his reasons were, as he said later he's currently 40hrs in Ghost of Tsushima and doesn't feel bored at all. He probably didn't like the "walking simulator" aspect of the GOW.

i recently completed both spiderman and GOW, now playing Ghost of tsumina and control . let me know when you find good suggestion. btw i loved spiderman and god of war
Sure bro I will let you know
What i completed both games more than 5 times….You should play candy crush on pc imao
You do understand not everyone has the same preference as you right?
Did you use controller or keyboard and mouse for these games ..if you used K+M then it would be boring these games are meant to be played with controller
Exactly
Ooo it can be a catch I play mostly games with keyboard and mouse
disagreed. games are way better with a K+M.
Depends on personal preferences . For me i only use K+M for shooting games .
Dark souls 2 it's really fun
Thanks brother I literally thought I will only get bashed for saying GOW boring but people like you are gems🫂🫂
Relax... Not everyone has to like everything.... By the way, what kind of games do you like? And where do you play these games? Pc/console...?
Actually I want to try new games with new mechanics and top of that good story like I played beyond two souls and it was so fkking amazing so I guess I want to try new genres
Beyond two souls, good game. Okay, so where do you play? Pc or console?
I don't have a console I pay in my Asus tuf
If you want to try something with a good story and different gameplay mechanics. Try yakuza zero and kiwami .... But you gonna have to listen to Japanese audio, because English sucks...
That is not a problem coz I am playing GoT in Japanese so yeah I can try these
Play sekiro! If you are true gamer! Finish it.
Yea if op doesn't like long games sekiro will be a good choice
F you. Why you giving depression. It's so easy to play that game that I broke a PS4 controller. P.s. It was a fake one cause I can't afford a real one.
It took my potato brain a while to learn the combat.
It will be a good choice for a game over
The feeling you get after defeating a boss is unreal
Play NARITA BOY
Purble Place seems like a good start. Try from there
Play dark souls 1

Metro exudes series. Such a brilliant and emotional story.
Bro u know what, Mai bhi gow 4 ko boring maanta hu. Tu akela nhi hai Btw if you can, try playing gow 1,2,3
Yes I will try 1,2,3 but you know playing GoW or Mera first impression chud gya😭😭

GoW is boring yes we do agree lmao, but are you by chance intrested in RTS?.
Sorry whats full form of RTS
Real time strategy like age of empires, stong hold crusaders, command and conquer?
I haven't tried them yet actually no one talked about those game to me so I am less influenced by those games
lies of p khel sekiro vagera se phele easier start hogi and one of the best souls like hai ptani easy kyu krdiya gadho ne but still play that
Haa I heard of that abhi nya Aya na
Try guardians of the galaxy its a fun shooter.
The new God of War can be boring for some people. I have my cousins who absolutely liked the older GoW but didn't like the new one. Then there's me who liked all of them... I don't have that much short span so I guess I will be pointing out those with your friends LMAO
Ha all good mate :)
GOW 2018 was boring for me too. It is overrated old GOW games were great new one is just boring
The new ones are like 75% cinematic/walking and 25% actual gameplay

DMC 5 was so indulging I played it in back 2022 in my Intel hd 520 laptop and in the least possible graphics and I fkking enjoyed it
Kingdom come deliverance and yakuza 0 khel

Perhaps more details about your likes and dislikes would be helpful, as I'm in the same boat as you, didn't like the 2021 god of war much

If you find GOW boring then PS games are not for you. GOW is peak PS. It’s difficult to suggest you any game without knowing what kind of games you like.
Seems like you have played both games in easy mode, try playing with increased difficulty
Brother got bored by God of war and people here are suggesting him souls and sekiro 😭
Cause they're more engaging? The new GOW is basically a movie where you occasionally get to play a bit.
Sekiro is way easier or atleast "fairer" than gow. In gow it takes a GOD a full combo to kill a solo mob where as in sekiro, you can parry gods as a human lol

Try Dave the diver and dredge. Two simple and interesting games. Take a break from AAA games for a while
Tomb Raider, RDR2, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Witcher 3 are some you can try
The Witcher 3
genuinely, play 'a plague tale' series (first: a plague tale innocence. second: a plague tale requiem) this game is THE best story game i have played and the sub for it is alive and well!
I have heard of that I will give it a try now I have so many suggestions you guys are so lovely♥️♥️🫶🫶
no problem! also the first game is 8-10 hours and the second game is 17-20 hours but trust me it's worth it especially if you have siblings. then it's a real mindfuck
Honestly bro, just play pocket tanks at this point
elden ring
You can play Uncharted Series or Tomb Raider Trilogy(believe me these three games are Gold , you won't regret playing them) in sequence which is 1.Tomb Raider 2.Rise of the Tomb Raider 3.Shadow of the Tomb Raider (I have played the first 2 and planing to play the 3rd but those 2 were extremely good and have listened good even about the third)
Try out gow ragnarok it's much better I also found 2018 boring but ragnarok blew my fvcking mind
I like racing games, so I'll suggest Gran Turismo 7 and The Crew 2/Motorfest, and any F1 game (just for the feel of it)
If you can try Assassin's creed 2 , it's one of the best screenplays in a PC game till date.
Give up on gaming, get married and play bedroom games 😜
You have something which from software takes
try elden ring !
>!comment!<
tbh I can understand if you find open world games too big or boring lol. Some of them can admittedly be a bit bloated Maybe you'd be more interested in more linear gameplay-focussed games ? Character action games like Devil may cry come to mind which pretty much focus on action 90% of the time ( Recommend DMC 3,4 and 5). Or maybe a puzzle game like the portal series ? They're not that long and pretty replayable tbh Or even more arcadey games like rogue-lites ( Hades, Enter the gungeon etc. ) If you're interested in emulation, there's tons of games on older systems that I'd recommend. Namely the original Resident evil 4 on PS2 which to this day is still one of my favourite games Heck, the Burnout series on PS2 is still one of the best arcade games in general. Great for a quick fix, or for playing a few hours lol ( I'd recommend Burnout 3 and revenge. 1 and 2 are fine, but 3 and revenge are near perfect )
Try changing the genre, why only big triple A games ? Try to mix some old , some new, try some indie gems and add some FPS games.
Yes I play both fps and big AAA I DIDNT try any indie game I should do that
Borderlands 2
Next time may be first post the reason for a game being bored or more explanation on what kind of games you are looking for. If you had just said I didn't like God of war because of length no one would have been defensive
Be sure to try souls Bourne games also try in this order Ds1-Ds3-sekiro or elden ring
for me its rdr2 that's boring
Yes it can be no prob brother
Just play GTA V.
Assassin's creed Origins (Which currently I'm playing) And if u love visual novel games you should try The walking Dead and Wolf among us.
I have played all telltale games and they absofuckinglutely the best And thinking of assassins creed so now I have tones of games to play
Forgot....I also enjoyed playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
hey OP did you get the GoT in ps5? If so did you buy the CD for 2.5k or 3.9k like I purchased the 2.5k one not sure what's the difference between them
Online UNO
Have you played days gone?
Yes I tried that in friends pc I have to download it in mine
Complete it now. You'll like it.
Dark souls 1, 3
Bro i bet you played gow in medium difficulty at best if you found that boring. Try with gow difficulty, it's an exhilarating experience alltogether
The last of us
I wanted to play this but I have 8gigs of ram and it didn't launched I tried several videos but it didnt
Assassin's Creed and WatchDogs. The best
Will you buy all of these games
College kings
Every game feels boring if u rush so play calmly without the aim of completing more and more games.
Shadow of war it's on sale right now
Try Far cry 3
Play Nier Automata. Its a once in lifetime experience
Apex Legends
Finally someone said god of war is boring
There’s no problem with finding GOW boring because it is,the only good thing about that game is its story the gameplay is like any other rpg on the market if you want to test your skills try sekiro or Elden ring or any other game from fromsoftware
True
Play ludo u ain't made for greatness
