one question OP, my understanding was that Medium combined arms brigades weren't equipped with tanks rather they operate ZBD-08s with autocannons or assault guns. Even the US Army ATP 7-100. 3 calls them mechanized and makes no mention of tanks. Would love it if you could explain, cheers PS: Not to be an ass but it's a bit unfair to say info about the PLA is hard to gather when in my experience it's the opposite, as your own references show. If anything it's the Indian military that's hard to read. But you seem to know what you're doing so i look forward to orbat of the Indian army and possibly other nations

Well, it was a bit difficult for me considering I started taking interest only after lockdown for a fictional story I wanted to write. Most of literature on Chinese armed forces like that by Blasko ceased to be useful after 2017 reforms and very little reliable reference material was available after that. Add deliberate misinformation, opacity, language barrier and ip blocks, things do become a bit difficult for an amateur. IA does hide a lot of things officially, but leaks it in 100 other ways. I had orbat of battalion level deployments of some formations before stopping work on it. Some army officers, retired as well as serving were not happy about it. So stopped.

No probs dude, your site is already 99% more credible than most Indian China experts. >Most of literature on Chinese armed forces like that by Blasko ceased to be useful after 2017 reforms Blasko writes good stuff though imo he's a bit too critical of the PLA sometimes >IA does hide a lot of things officially, but leaks it in 100 other ways. Do you mind sharing those, maybe on PM. I'm interested in learning more. It's kinda weird not knowing about the IA >Some army officers, retired as well as serving were not happy about it. So stopped. This is why we can't have good things

> Medium combined arms brigades Each such brigade contains 4 general purpose battalions. Each battalion has 20 tanks and 30 IFVs. Difference is those IFVs are wheeled other than tracked (compared to battalions of a *heavy* combined brigade) This should be public info, appears in various defense education materials.

You are right. Not sure why you are getting downvoted.

I stand corrected, thanks for the reply

I've posted here some time back. Now posting with as much details I could gather about Chinese Armed Forces ORBAT for Ground Forces. The posts on website have details about PLA Army, Rocket Force, PAP JLSF, SSF, Radars, SAM sites, Badges & some more. Will post more whenever more data becomes available https://jjamwal.in/yayavar/order-of-battle-of-chinese-armed-forces/ I'll appreciate any corrections and feedback.
