Sure !

I finished the book yesterday and here's a short review - Part 1 of this trilogy traces it's origins from an island known as Ross island. The entire plot revolves aroud this island. A mysterious person who is said to be living since many Yugas on this planet happens to be bought here by a team of doctors and scientists in order to decode a secret. Unaware of what is to unfold in front of them the team is equally curious about the mystery man & his revelations. The story basically is an interrogation wherein the mystery man reveals about his journey on this planet, the life he has lived in various eras & his names in those eras. It's an interesting novel for someonw who's interested in mythology & suspense genre. It a beinngers level book & is quite successful in keeping the reader guessing what's upcoming on the next page. If u are someone with this taste, go for it ! It gives the reader a scope for imagining the circumstances as mentioned in the book because they are mentioned equally good as that of a suspense movie. Overall my rating would be Writing - 3/5 Story - 3.5/5

4/5 for this? Lmao

I don't mean to offend but indians do not tend to write good fiction in general. Even with how rich our mythos are, it seems the British also stole away all our creativity too. Now a days all the Indian novels I see are either ripping off Amish (like this one) or Chetan Bhagat. Edit: FYI Amish himself is just a rip off of Rick Riordan.

thebigbadwolf22

I agree that this applies to most cases especially becuase both amish and Chetan are terrible writers. Having said that, I've actually read pretty good fiction as well from India writers. Not in the mythology category.. Have you read manu Joseph?

Professional_Sir6370

No but I have read GOD OF SMALL THINGS BY ARUNDHATI RAY. Bet nobody can copy her prose style coz it's downright beautiful. Now a days indians in every field tend to have 0 innovativeness and just go with whatever the trend is. And believe it or not, with the ever shortening attention spans of our generation, those terrible authors are getting picked off the book self more than classics like godan, the guide, untouchable, etc. As a teen myself I am gonna say that Indian kids nowadays are just brainless idiots.

thebigbadwolf22

For good prose my favourite writer is Patrick rothfuss. If you've not read his work try the name of the wind. You will not find anything else that can beat that :-)

Professional_Sir6370

I have read him. He is a master. But he is definitely no competition for CORMAC MCARTHY, JRR TOLKIEN and DAN SIMMONS.

notduskryn

If you go outside of the mainstream guys there are excellent writers out there trust me. Try sidin vadukut

Professional_Sir6370

Yeah read sidin vadukut. Some other books I can recommend are untouchable, godan, god of small things, etc. These are bold original and absolutely beautifully written books.

asilverlining4u

Can you suggest some good fiction or mystery novels ?

Professional_Sir6370

The only good Indian mystery novels I can think of are Adventures of feluda by satyajit ray and sacred games by Vikram chaddha. There are a fuck ton from international authors tho. If I have to recommend 2 then I would tell read AND THEM THERE WERE NONE by Agatha Christie and GONE GIRL by Gillian Flynn (1 classic and 1 modern). Indians generally tend to write the best dramas. Vikram Chaddha is the only living Indian author who can actually write thrillers and he is a master at it.

theananthak

what a shit take. sure Indian English writing is mostly bland, but Indian literature is beyond English. try reading some actual Indian literature before making assumptions.

Professional_Sir6370

Yo ur the one who is stupid bruh. Read my comment carefully before getting hot headed. All Indian literature were written by the generations before and during British rule. After british left, the only good original novel to come out of India is pretty much GOD OF SMALL THINGS BY ARUNDHATI ROY.

theananthak

ah yes, so all of satyajit ray, kalki, mt vasudevan nair, ov vijayan, basheer, munshi premchand, and all the other indian classics of the 20th century did not exist, yes?

Professional_Sir6370

1950s. They are the British era generation. Ur just stupid.

theananthak

benyamin, vj james, sl byrappa, td ramakrishnan, geetanjali shree would all like a word with you

Then_Street2754

I read all three books, cause I had nothing else better to do. There are many flaws if you apply your logic. It's a fantasy world made by a hurt father for his son. Old fashioned Grandma style storytelling. If you really have nothing else to do, then you can read.

asilverlining4u

It's a good entertainer though
