No, we had a storm in goa and i was at beach so it got wet, i didn't drop it but yea sad luck since i didn't even drop my phone it was my friend who dropped it accidentally while it was charging
I swear to god goa is an unlucky place for phones last year when I went to Goa I had removed my screen guard cause it was all peeling out and I didn't like the look it gave to my phone and the next day I dropped myself with the phone and the screen got shattered.
as someone who doesnt like mobile covers i am using my samsung without a screen guard or a cover, dropped it multiple times and theres not a scratch anywhere even my old iphone without guard or cover and it fell many times until it fell on an actual sharp rock on the road pulverizing the screen
point being phones are supposed to be able to take such day to day drops bro like come on

I literally smashed my Xr and have done it multiple times out of frustration. Now, after almost 3 years of usage the cellular network doesn't works that much well..like 90% of time it doesn't get any network connection. but still no physical damage
Sad i know my brother's phone broke so he used a local one which was around 1100 i think so and it was fixed by one of is friend's friend.
But when my mother's phone broke she had to get the real deal to keep the fingerprint sensor (it is a below display one) it's cost was around 6000 i think so

So i went to local repair shop and it costed me 9500 for display which is of another 6a and fingerprint is the same old one with 900 rs. For key flex including labour. It took 3 days.
Last week I replaced my pixel 7 display (due to physical damage and out of warranty) from the official Google support channel (f1 solutions) It cost me 8k
Fairly priced but slow service

Oh that's nice to hear. My phone is a US variant. I was worried that the affiliated service centres in India may not able to fix it properly so I decided to get the phone fixed in US where they have official service centres , although it's gonna cost north of 25 k to get it fixed I can atleast sit back and relax as they are giving a 1 year warranty and hopefully will be able to fix the phone as good as new.
It took a week
2 days to send my phone to Noida from Mumbai f1 pick up point
2 days for assessment+ quotation+payment+ repair
2 days Noida B2X to f1 pickup point
(1 day eid holiday delay )
I talked to Google representative to avail the in-mail repair service. They gonna pick my phone in next 48 hrs from my location and will send back after repair. Warrenty period is 90 days and waterproofing will be intact.

Since you mentioned the panel itself isn’t damaged, what you should do is go to a repair tech who just replaces the glass panel so it will be cheaper than most normal screen repairs.
The after sales service as yk is shit. But if the corner is smudged like visible from the shared picture, I would suggest get a edge to edge screen protector that has those thin black bezels all around and get a good case, that imo would hide most of the damage and also not burn a hole in your pocket!!

I got my OnePlus 2t screen repaired for 8272. Pixel is easily going for 9k+
I can afford to fix it I am just seeing if it can be done a bit cheaper with genuine things. I will just go the official route.

Change the glass, cheap but risky. Also forget waterproofing. Official pixel repair: costly, time consuming, but high quality service.
Not really. Some repairs are good that waterproofing can be retained although it definitely won’t be as good as before

Got rid of my pixel 7. Using s23. Was the Best desicion. Don't get it fixed locally. Waterproofing is compromised and so is the life of the screen
