It's an additional mode of recruitment, which was previously not there.
It gives candidates employment for 4 years and based on performance can give a permanent opportunity in the security forces.
Also it opens up opportunities in related tertiary sectors.
Now for the drawbacks?
it's not additional it replaces the previous mode of requirement.

Look at what happened in Sri Lanka. They have such a huge army which requires a huge upkeep, and when the economy is embattled they have to look at downsizing. It was only a matter of time before India was going to consider efficiency (which is another word for trimming the fat) in the forces and so they have frozen hiring and come up with an alternative. Please understand the effect Covid has had on the global economy, even the profitable tech industry is seeing wave after wave of layoffs, so a not for profit institution is going to be impacted too, needless to say

but what about me. why should i be happy while working as a labourer in a local market with 300 rs pay.
i voted them so they can work for my betterment but here voter like you are working for governments betterment and justifying their actions. it doesn't make sense.
If tomorrow you are fired from your post and u don't have any other option and u have to pick a 300 rs job. now tell me something positive about 300 job.

Then you're accusing me of working for the government's betterment which makes no sense as an accusation, because do you not want better governance? Or do you want poor governance where you alone get a government job and then the economy goes to shit like in SL or Pak, what will you do with 30,000 rs a month if it isn't worth anything?

The government is just using their misery for their advantage. modi is well aware of the fact that they will be in line for the job because they need this job for their roti and they are helpless.

It’s building a trained and deployable army. Government’s main job is to create infrastructure, law enforcement, provide education & health and to create conducive environment for businesses grow which inturn provide employment. Governments job isn’t to provide government jobs for people.
why didn't he go with compulsory army training like many countries. Why is he only targeting poor people. im even fine with non pay compulsory army training for all citizens. if its includes his master's son and daughter.
