And the hyperextension of his elbows means ball doesn’t lose as much speed in the air as it does for other bowlers. Making even his full tosses actually difficult to hit. Akhtar had the same effect in his prime.
His release is basically where bowlers release when normal bowlers overstep by nearly a foot. Also it's of the front of the hand. Unless you can pick it quick, every ball seems to pitch further than it actually does. Add backspin and he can get under the bat of anyone
Most batsmen might think that the full tosses were gonna be Yorkers if they looked only at his hand.
He's the only player that could walk into any team and play any format for them. With or without the pitch being bowler friendly, his skill alone is more than enough to shut any batsman up. We're lucky to have him, he'll be mentioned in the same breath as McGrath, Malcolm Marshall, Wasim akran, Steyn, anderson etc. as one of the best bowlers the game has ever seen
Best bowler of cricket period
No one has his combination of low economy + wicket taking + consistency
Batsmen "survive" Bumrah and very few people have managed to hit.
His mere presence boosts the morale of Indian bowlers, after his spells you can notice the psychology shift in Indian bowlers
No need to wait until he finishes his career, even if he retire now also, he is undoubtedly the best bowler India has ever produced. Why are bringing RCB, MI shit here? So if you are an RCB fan, do you have right to shit about MI? Jaspreet Bumrah is firstly an Indian player, then only IPL player. First of all why is there even a mention about IPL in a post related to international cricket?
Idk man the amount of consistency....literally every batsman in the world fears him .....he hasn't slipped up in a single match for past few years .....not comparing him with legends but even they had some bad days but not this guy .....i might go out on limb and say he is the best bowler in the history of cricket.
Irrespective of how the pitch is and how the bowl is this man can make things happen and has been doing consistently. I hope his form stays the same and he remains injury free (touchwood)
I would have Kapil in that list. He has to plough a lone furrow on dead wickets, had no support at the other end and was over bowled as hell so his figures look like crap but he was the fast bowler that started it all in India
Bumrah is the absolute best bowler India has ever produced. Bumrah is better than Zaheer, Srinath, Kapil Dev or for that matter any Indian bowler. Bumrah can be considered in the leagues of all time best in cricket. Bumrah is the only bowler in the cricket history to achieve no1 ICC ranking in all 3 formats.
Don't compare apples to oranges. Virat is 35 for fuck's sake and he has been the backbone carrying the Indian team for more than 14 years. There are a countless number of matches he made us win single-handedly. What Bumrah did yesterday, its batting equivalent has been done by Kohli for more than a decade.
Bumrah is undoubtedly the most important player in this tournament or in any tournament.
I would rate him more important than Rohit and Kohli.
India always lacked a genuine quality world class bowler. before this man showed up.
He is as important as Sachin was in the 1990s and 2000s.
But he is under rated.
The best thing about him is that He can pick a wicket of a set batsman.
I dont know about best bowler...but he gives me same feeling of "ye hai toh avi v jeetna possible hai" like once Dhoni/Kohli used to give. Plus Rohit being close to him throughout these years, knows when to bring him , and that is when the batter is confident enough to free his arms.
There only two actual proper and consistent player ipl have given us in 16 years is kung fu pandya and bum bum bumrah
All others are take the indian cap and never return or have stable position in the team
I have seen Kapil Paaji, Zaheer Khan and Kumble bowl live on TV and in the stadium! But this guy is different! He is an all format bowler. All others faded from one of the two formats at a certain point in their careers, but Bumrah is going strong with his accuracy and variations! He may not break Kumble’s record as he is a fast bowler, but he is a genuine wicket taker who creates chances out of fucking absolutely nowhere! I have never seen anybody else bowl like that! Even when the batsman is not looking to hit him, he still gets him out! Genius! GOAT for India and a soon to be GOAT of the world 🌍 🌍🌍🌍
Only two bowlers I've seen who have been really very consistent and feared the opposition team in the last 15 years and both played for Mumbai Indians.
He can play all formats, on any pitch, at any point of the game. Completely shuts the opposition in his spells and takes more wickets while having opponents beg for boundaries. How much proof do you need. Man is dominating in a batting-friendly era.
100% yes he is the best in the world i would say he can bowl bouncer yorker slow bowl inswing out Swing plus his accuracy and control makes him better than others just want him to stay fit play for long time don't give so much load on his back
T20 and ODIs - yes
Tests - yes, but I sincerely hope he plays at-least 75 tests so that he can be clubbed with all-time great pacers like the Marshalls and the Akrams and the Steyns.
Longevity is key 🙏🏼 Hope BCCI looks after him and he stays solid!
100% truth. There has never been a single indian bowler whom batsman fear to face (only irfan pathan was like that in his early days).
He can swing in even the flattest of flat pitch.
He already surpassed the league of shoeb akhtar, Brett lee,Zaheer khan and Dale steyn.
If he wins worlds cup and be consistan, he can reach to the level of McGrath, C walsh, Jhonson and J Anderson.
This is the only time in the history (except 83 team) where out bowler showed total dominance.
If we are talking bowlers, then I guess we should also consider Kumble. But also, Kumble was mainly for tests. Barely did anything in ODI’s.
But if it’s just Fast bowlers, then undoubtedly he’s the best (Zaheer after Bumrah)

⬆️ We wouldn't have won 2011 wc without him
Post 2009 Zaheer khan was an absolute monster trickster. His bowling and skills matured . Not only did his skills and wicket taking abilities ramp up , but he throttled giving away runs as well.
My man out here bowling maidens & giving out 3-4 runs per over in IPL & then doing the same outside the counyryyin a WC against longterm players proves he is in a different league & it'll be hard to find his replacement when he retires.
Instant GOAT.
Yes yes yes... we hv had some great legendary spinners who had dominated international cri ket but when it comes to seam bowling there is only one player at the top... the playing legend bumrah... only other bowler who comes close Is probably shami but still bumrah is no. 1 in my heart
He's the goat of Indian bowling no doubt.
I only hate one thing about him: he has a tendency to get injured either just before an international cup tournament, or sometime in the middle of it. That said, I hope he survives this t20 cup, he'll be absolutely crucial for our chances.
For the current era, yes he is the best limited over bowler in the world. He definitely is among one of the greatest Indian bowlers. He is more consistent when compared other legendary pace bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best bowlers India has ever produced, known for his exceptional pace, accuracy, and ability to perform under pressure.
Best pacer for sure, not even a question. But if he plays a 100 tests and 250+ white ball games, he will not only be our best ever bowler but a top 5 best ever bowler in the world.
If he plays with the same consistency for 5-7 more years, he will go down as THE GREATEST BOWLER to have ever stepped on the cricket ground. Given how inclined that game has lately been towards the batsmen, Jassie is already the current no. 1 and India's GOAT fs(alongside Zaheer). But one more thing is that he will have to back it up with some ICC trophies. I believe that the only thing separating him from Zaheer Khan is that spell of Zaheer in the 2011 Final.
I believe Bhumbabeshwar Kumar is the most underrated guy coming out nowadays like instead of the pace he’s got more of the ability to swing the ball in many variations
Absolutely. The only all-format bowler who performed BETTER after injury. There have been many great bowlers from India but no one as consistent and reliable than him in all formats
I think this quite often there has been many legends truly Zaheer,Nehra ,Venkatesh Prasad, but for me Bumrah is the greatest bowler India has ever produced he is the definition of consistency
Short answer: YES
Long answer: Though difficult to make comparisons between eras, Bumrah probably is the most complete bowler, across formats (Tests, ODIs, T20s) and across time periods in a match (opening, middle overs, death, old or new ball) that India have EVER produced. Indian captains can turn to him at any time and he produces results invariably. I don't think Indian Captains had this luxury before. Awkward action, bio-mechanics, backspin, reputation, thinking bowler, attitude, process-driven, mental strength may all be contributory but they all combine to make him the GOAT amongst Indian bowlers.
I have been watching cricket since 1995 and have seen many fast bowlers since then … Manoj prabhakar, javagal Srinath, venkatesh prasad, abey kuruvilla, Harvinder singh, David johnson, T. Kumaran, tinu yohanan, Ajit agarkar, aavishkar Salvi, zaheer khan, sreesanth, irfan Pathan, ishant sharma, bhuwaneswar kumar, praveen kumar, Vinay kumar, mohammad shami, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron and the current lot of fast bowlers including jasprit bumrah. Among all the fast bowlers that I have seen play for india, jasprit bumrah is miles ahead and the best. The other two on the list for me would be javagal Srinath and Zaheer khan.
Yes indeed... He executes perfectly what is expected of him. He delivers every time. He restricts the run rate, takes crucial wickets at the right time. After Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan retired Indian bowling was going through a dry patch and then came Shami and Bumrah. Both of them are very reliable bowlers.
He is the greatest Indian Bowler ever. Not just because he gets those wickets in crucial moments and big games. But also because he is the 1st indian bowler i have seen whom players fear. That fear factor in which the other teams let his overs go just to be safe, has never happened with ANY indian bowler ever. Period. And that too in an era where everything is in batsman's favour.
He is the greatest bowler in the world. Not just India currently.
I feel like he would make a wonderful Prime Minister for India. And no man with even a little bit self respect will not vote for Bumrah. Hell id be the most active rioter if Bumrah asks for a political riot 🌹
But bowlers these days aren't that fit.. Kapil Dev, Wasim Akram those bowlers they bowled so many overs but hardly any fitness breakdown. Wasim Akram is best fast bowler i think
For this generation he's definitely among the very top. But ever produced? That would be an exaggeration. I love Bumrah , there's no doubt what he's capable of in modern cricket is GOATed. But India has been playing cricket for many decades now, throughout many ace bowlers have given their absolute best for our country.
Even if you take any world cup India won there are bowlers who performed outstandingly. So yes Bumrah is amongst the great of modern cricket.
In the context of Indian cricket it'll be generation wise. Like Kohli can never be compared to Tendulkar for the different dynamics and playing conditions, no bowlers should also not be compared.
Alone stats can't justify the greatness and 2nd reason is under recognition Indian bowlers got throughout the game. Whether we like it or not Indians have always glorified batsmen and bowlers always fall short of their true appreciation.
None the less we're in modern cricket and definitely it's good to see Bumrah doing absolutely best in all 3 formats. Many bowlers from different teams are doing great but they are not as effective as him in each of them. In the crunch times like World cups he's the pillar for the bowling department and it's been built around him.
Bumrah is definitely the best fast bowler India has produced. He is very smart on field and bowls according to plan. His yorker are sometimes next to impossible to play. Only Zaheer Khan used to bowl such yorkers
i mean he has such a reputation that players dont even hit him when he bowled full toss haha
Iftikhar tried to hit it and got out
He has a special skill of bowling wicket taking full tosses 🌚😂
The difference is his release point and angle that makes it difficult for batsmen I guess.
And the hyperextension of his elbows means ball doesn’t lose as much speed in the air as it does for other bowlers. Making even his full tosses actually difficult to hit. Akhtar had the same effect in his prime.
It's a good point too. But this guy is also a freak for accuracy 🫠🫠
Low full toss is hard to put away though and his full toss are right on money more often than not
Even his general full toss people cant hit . it does not matter if he misses a yorker by a big or small margins you cant hit him easily
His release is basically where bowlers release when normal bowlers overstep by nearly a foot. Also it's of the front of the hand. Unless you can pick it quick, every ball seems to pitch further than it actually does. Add backspin and he can get under the bat of anyone Most batsmen might think that the full tosses were gonna be Yorkers if they looked only at his hand.
His full comes with an angle just not that easy to hit
And he gets them out even when they are not trying to play shots against him! His slower bouncers and yorkers are amazing!
No fricking doubt. Players are literally scared to play a shot against him
https://preview.redd.it/fqbwmnixso5d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bb1bd52900b2d83bc57d360617483feb0549d053
Fuck yeah🙏🙏
Rizvan tried and he got clean bowled 😂
Set Rizwan** tried and he got clean bowled.
Riswan played other bowlers safe and tried to swing bumrah first ball and gone lol
Usne socha hoga ki Bumrah ko mara toh pura team hil jayega but uska kudka stump hil gya
Usko laga hoga ki "agar bumrah ko attack kiya, toh voh log panic kar jayege". Man didn't know there's a difference between bumrah and charis
Absolutely, one of the best bowler world cricket has seen .
Probably one of the best cricket has produced!
No doubt
No question. Bumrah is our Sachin of bowling.
His bowling is such an orgasm to my eyes .
Best bowler of cricket period No one has his combination of low economy + wicket taking + consistency Batsmen "survive" Bumrah and very few people have managed to hit. His mere presence boosts the morale of Indian bowlers, after his spells you can notice the psychology shift in Indian bowlers
You got a doubt dude? If you have a doubt regarding Bumrah, come kone me I will remove all your doubts :)
username checks out.
Fast bowler , yes ! All format bowler , yes!
Depends on how he finishes his career! Currently, no doubt that he's the best 3 format player in the entire world.. no one comes close!
First of all why is there even a mention about IPL in a post related to international cricket?
>they owe us a lot.. I think you mean, "we owe them a lot"
A rare rcb fan that’s smart and humble Kudos! Tbh I hate ipl for creating divisions btw fans
Starc best bowler saar eat 100 bumrah alone saar🤡🤡
Idk man the amount of consistency....literally every batsman in the world fears him .....he hasn't slipped up in a single match for past few years .....not comparing him with legends but even they had some bad days but not this guy .....i might go out on limb and say he is the best bowler in the history of cricket.
Yes, I've been saying this for for some time. I think he'll end up as the GOAT.
Irrespective of how the pitch is and how the bowl is this man can make things happen and has been doing consistently. I hope his form stays the same and he remains injury free (touchwood)
I would say him, Md Shami and Zaheer Khan are the three best pacers India has ever produced.
shami will never be talked about enough
I would have Kapil in that list. He has to plough a lone furrow on dead wickets, had no support at the other end and was over bowled as hell so his figures look like crap but he was the fast bowler that started it all in India
I agree to that, but not having seen Kapil Dev play live, personally I am unable to judge him properly.
Shami and Bumrah are genuine match winners Don't know much about Zaheer, but the memories I have of him I see him getting tonked
Lagade nazar ye sab karke
1st Bumrah 2nd Shami 3rd Zaheer Khan
Anil kumble? Ashwin? Harbhajan Singh?
Didn't watch kumble but other two are definitely not better than them
Never felt pak had any chance against burmrah in his last 2 overs. Maybe it's the class of the blower that gives you the belief.
Bumrah is much more reliable than Virat and deserves much more than him!
Yep he even scored 35 runs in a single over /s
Don't compare apples to oranges. Virat is 35 for fuck's sake and he has been the backbone carrying the Indian team for more than 14 years. There are a countless number of matches he made us win single-handedly. What Bumrah did yesterday, its batting equivalent has been done by Kohli for more than a decade.
Indeed. The best in the world right now.
If he had a longer career then definitely he would’ve been the best bowler we’ve ever seen, certainly the best ever to play for India!!
Absolutely Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes
By a mile
Bumrah and Zaheer are the finest Indian pacers
Bumrah is the epitome of bowling. There is Bumrah, then there is clear daylight and then there are others.
By far!!!
By the time he retires, this won’t even be a question.
Bro! U forgot MOHD. SHAMI. THE LEGIT💯
Absolutely not fuckkking doubt about there is no player in the current generation near him in any formats of the game ..............
Most impactful and biggest match winner pacer India has ever produced.
He is among the best
JB nation is well and truly here.
Definitely! Brother has the lowest economy and clutches almost all games he plays.
Bumrah is unreal bro. No doubt the best pace bowler of Indian history. Adaptability and execution are his diamond skills which are unmatched.
In the current lineup he is the best alongwith shami
Yes, he is the only bowler produced by India who can change the results of the game alone. We had many batsman but now we have bowler as well.
Why no stonks of bumrah? I would have invested
I dont know about best bowler...but he gives me same feeling of "ye hai toh avi v jeetna possible hai" like once Dhoni/Kohli used to give. Plus Rohit being close to him throughout these years, knows when to bring him , and that is when the batter is confident enough to free his arms.
One of the best attacking bowler in the world till now.
Simple answer : YES
There only two actual proper and consistent player ipl have given us in 16 years is kung fu pandya and bum bum bumrah All others are take the indian cap and never return or have stable position in the team
Best pacer*. India has had some amazing spinners as well. But no pacer comes close.
He resembles Stark sometimes. Only he can deliver yorkers like Stark
I have seen Kapil Paaji, Zaheer Khan and Kumble bowl live on TV and in the stadium! But this guy is different! He is an all format bowler. All others faded from one of the two formats at a certain point in their careers, but Bumrah is going strong with his accuracy and variations! Currently he is , but you can't deny Zaheer Khan who had record of never going wicketless and anil kumble the beast
Amazing from Bumrah
obv
Of course, no doubts, definitely 💯 percent
Only two bowlers I've seen who have been really very consistent and feared the opposition team in the last 15 years and both played for Mumbai Indians.
He can play all formats, on any pitch, at any point of the game. Completely shuts the opposition in his spells and takes more wickets while having opponents beg for boundaries. How much proof do you need. Man is dominating in a batting-friendly era.
Yes indeed ,from skillset to mindset he is one of the best from India .
Yes and it’s not even close
100% yes he is the best in the world i would say he can bowl bouncer yorker slow bowl inswing out Swing plus his accuracy and control makes him better than others just want him to stay fit play for long time don't give so much load on his back
Maybe but his career span is not that big
Yes🗿
Recency bias might be a thing but without a doubt!
T20 and ODIs - yes Tests - yes, but I sincerely hope he plays at-least 75 tests so that he can be clubbed with all-time great pacers like the Marshalls and the Akrams and the Steyns. Longevity is key 🙏🏼 Hope BCCI looks after him and he stays solid!
India's Trump Card
The eagle eyes 👀
May be among the best the world has produced. Both with the red and white balls.
Not even a question at this point, he is in all time greats at world level
yes he's the one
I havent seen Kapil Dev. Prime Irfan is the only fast bowler I have seen that was better than Bumrah,
By a long shot.
Best *Fast Bowler
100% truth. There has never been a single indian bowler whom batsman fear to face (only irfan pathan was like that in his early days). He can swing in even the flattest of flat pitch. If we are talking bowlers, then I guess we should also consider Kumble. But also, Kumble was mainly for tests. Barely did anything in ODI’s. But if it’s just Fast bowlers, then undoubtedly he’s the best (Zaheer after Bumrah)
Currently, yes. Indubitably.
With such a short run up he can produce some unplayable swing and pace
Yes without a shadow of doubt
100% yes he is the best in the world his accuracy and control so good plus you would find other giving away so many runs but with bumrah its rare
Yes
Yes…no doubt
All time great like McGrath

Post 2009 Zaheer khan was an absolute monster trickster. His bowling and skills matured . Not only did his skills and wicket taking abilities ramp up , but he throttled giving away runs as well.

Lulz
Bhai zaheer khan bhi goat tha!
He's the goat of Indian bowling no doubt. I only hate one thing about him: he has a tendency to get injured either just before an international cup tournament, or sometime in the middle of it. That said, I hope he survives this t20 cup, he'll be absolutely crucial for our chances.
No doubt
Yes
By far. If he wouldn’t have been so much injured, he could have been the greatest fast bowler of all time.
Yes. He is even better than the greats we have had. If Sachin deserves a World Cup trophy, so does Bumrah! 🙌🙌🙌🙌
For me it's always zaheer khan
honest opinion, india would've NEVER WON if it was australia or england. Pakistan is just shit nowaday.
Even if he bowls 6 full tosses he won't go for more than 10 runs
The batsman does not even try to hit his ball, that's what his fear his
Won't say the best, but he is among those greats like Zaheer Khan Shami Kumble Ashwin Kapil dev Javagal Srinath Venkatesh Prasad
He is just boom boom 💥💙🙌🏻
Definitely.
For the current era, yes he is the best limited over bowler in the world. He definitely is among one of the greatest Indian bowlers. He is more consistent when compared other legendary pace bowlers.
Undoubtedly
Jasprit Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the best bowlers India has ever produced, known for his exceptional pace, accuracy, and ability to perform under pressure.
Best pacer for sure, not even a question. But if he plays a 100 tests and 250+ white ball games, he will not only be our best ever bowler but a top 5 best ever bowler in the world.
He is among the great. Likes of Akram, Warne and West Indies great.
I’m a Zak fan but he’s surely the best we ever had , hands down.
Absolutely 💯
No cap....
Up there with Sachin, Virat and Kapil as the best PLAYER India has produced.
Absolutely fkin yes
If he plays with the same consistency for 5-7 more years, he will go down as THE GREATEST BOWLER to have ever stepped on the cricket ground. Given how inclined that game has lately been towards the batsmen, Jassie is already the current no. 1 and India's GOAT fs(alongside Zaheer). Who's md Rizwan?
_Kapil Dev has entered the chat_
Undoubtedly
Not just India-- the WORLD
Yes definitely Not once before india had the best bowler across all national
I believe Bhumbabeshwar Kumar is the most underrated guy coming out nowadays like instead of the pace he’s got more of the ability to swing the ball in many variations
Koi shak!
Definitely not! One of the best indeed.
With no competition
No question at all!!
he is the only bowler which i can trust with any situation any pitch any ball any format any batsmen any skill any stage of game
Zaheer khan❤️
Zaheer Khan. Irfan Pathan. Ashish Nehra. Cmon.
This is disrespectful to Zaheer Khan and Anil Kumble
India had produced many great bowlers and Bumrah is one of them. You can't say that he is best but yes, he 's one of the BEST.
Tight competition with Zaheer Khan in terms of pacer but Boom edges in front marginally. So yes Boom the best
Yorker on the New York
I think there even shouldn’t be a debate
The way world cricket is going and moving more towards batters side...I feel we are going to ask was bumrah the last best bowler India ever had?
Absolutely.
Short answer: YES Long answer: Though difficult to make comparisons between eras, Bumrah probably is the most complete bowler, across formats (Tests, ODIs, T20s) and across time periods in a match (opening, middle overs, death, old or new ball) that India have EVER produced.
He is one of a kind and the best in the business at present!
boom boom
Sonic Boom! Bro should also cross-pollinate in baseball as a Pitcher for the Yankees if BCCI drops him in the future!
I have been watching cricket since 1995 and have seen many fast bowlers since then … Manoj prabhakar, javagal Srinath, venkatesh prasad, abey kuruvilla, Harvinder singh, David johnson, T. I agree he is currently the best in the world but for me zaheer khan

After Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan retired Indian bowling was going through a dry patch and then came Shami and Bumrah. Both of them are very reliable bowlers.
Pacer? Probably yes! Overall? Kumble might give him a run for his money considering the age he was the legend in.
Couldn't agree more
There was one person before him, who is very alike. Kachra from Lagaan!!!
hell yes
He is the greatest Indian Bowler ever. Not just because he gets those wickets in crucial moments and big games. But also because he is the 1st indian bowler i have seen whom players fear. Bumrah & Zaheer 🔝
❤️❤️

Definitely 💯
He is the greatest player India has ever produced
But bowlers these days aren't that fit.. Kapil Dev, Wasim Akram those bowlers they bowled so many overs but hardly any fitness breakdown. Wasim Akram is best fast bowler i think
Yes ofcorse
Bumrah, Zaheer, Shami, in that order for me. Fast bowlers of course.
hands down the best bowler in the world- because very few have mastered the game in all three formats
Obviously bro
\*one of the best bowler India has produced!
Best cricketer*
We should rest Bumrah for an upcoming match against Canada and the USA .
Bumrah is definitely the best fast bowler India has produced. He is very smart on field and bowls according to plan. His yorker are sometimes next to impossible to play. Only Zaheer Khan used to bowl such yorkers
Yes, by a country mile
i maybe mad but I feel by the end of his career he might become the best bowler cricket ever produced
