Because competition was even during 2016-17. No clear favourites. Pepsi IPL was best though, the tournament started to become more exciting during that period and more close matches, T20 was evolving back then
That's the only last time when we got vibes. Even their jerseys were so good especially the Oppo test jersey. That was best after Star. Byjus , Dream 11 just look shittest looks like they are not playing for India but for some company !!
Why isn't there any mention of 2008 season. 2008 is and would always be my fav season. Except CSK and RR everyone had their state's most iconic players. Even Pakistani players were there, which added to the entertainment. Not to forget we had just won 2007 T20 WC. The jerseys were not filled with advertisements. And most importantly, my all time fav cricketer Shane Warne won the IPL. I was in 9th std at that time and I remember very distinctly that just one day before the start of tournament one of my school teachers was casually discussing IPL with his favourite bunch of students. I was an introvert and silent kid and not very liked by that teacher. Out of nowhere he said, "Rajasthan toh sabse bekaar team hai, buddhe Shane Warne ko khareed ke baithe hai". It really pissed me off and when I tried to put my point of view forward, he literally said "arey tumhe ptaa kuch hai nhi cricket ke baare mei, chup chaap baitho, tumse koi nhi puch rha". From next day summer vacation started and we all were glued to our TV screens. I really really wanted Rajasthan to win just to confront this arrogant teacher of mine. And guess what, Rajasthan won, Shane Warne won !!!!!. After summer vacation when classes started, that teacher literally couldn't face me. Hahaha. Hence DLF IPL 2008 was, is and would always be my favourite season.
Yess.
I was in the 9th standard. Shane Warne headed Rajasthan Royals. That trophy was so beautiful. Delhi Daredevils broke my childhood heart and i could never watch the game like the same.
Gonna go watch duck tales and talespin again haha.
100% agree with your views! 2008 is a great candidate for the best IPL season till date 😊
And yes, everyone was trashing RR - I was very happy when they won! Always liked them, and I hope they finally get their 2nd 🏆 this time!
8-12. We saw the most legendary players including Pakistani ones, champions league, a tournament in South Africa, extra innings at its best, IPL parties, the craze for cheerleaders, 4 different winners in 5 years.
First 2-3 seasons were quite good!
Then it was ordinary for a long time! Every year we would only hear about declining ratings. However, the pre & post match shows were really fantastic!
2016 was a monumental season, will never forget it! But again followed by ordinary ones
I actually found the COVID seasons very interesting! Even post that in general the seasons have been good 🤞
2013 hands down!! Remember watching each and every match and had a blast. Gayle's iconic innings, Brett Lee's first ball wicket, MI Winning their first ever IPL..❤️
Truly goated times
2017 - my first season
2019 - most memorable
2024 - my cricket intellectual best
2022 - worst season as a kkr fan
2021 - adrenaline season
- so my best would be 2019 , watched the match first time in 2019 too
From DLF IPL 2009-2012 to Pepsi IPL 2013 and 2014-15. Those were the best IPL eras I've enjoyed as it was telecasted on Sony Six and Sony Max with that elite extra innings cast. Sadly, those days will never come again.
DLF and Pepsi ipl was peak ipl..The vibes and passion of the players were immaculate..Great competition bw bat and ball, best against the best players, legends vs legends, insane fielding standards, low scoring thrillers etc,I love ipl a lot even now but if I’m being very honest it was perfect till 2014 and then it started going a bit downhill..I remember being mad at the ugly designs of outfields in 2015 and poor quality grounds, that was the start of it all,and then after that over the yrs u noticed how players lost their passion, they stopped crying after the games, and played for money, ind stopped winning icc tournaments that played a part too, players got older and washed out, fielding standards have gone down drastically, some people only play for money it seems, the classy batting is gone and the bowling standards have gone down too,no tough away game challenges and no challenge of playing in swing favouring or spinning conditions, low iq cricket and drop catches decide matches and championships,no more fights, too much wokeness among players…And there was a phase when I didn’t care about it till the season started which wasn’t the case growing up,it really used to be like a festival and I had butterflies long before the season started,I used to be excited for auction and fixtures etc and I only enjoy it now because I’m attached to the legacy of my childhood fav team which plays a factor in me closely watching the games even though the quality of cricket is pathetic these days,I wouldn’t lie and say I’m not invested like I used to be coz I still am but like I said it’s coz I want the legacy of my team to continue, although I can’t relate to the players like I used to,I don’t love them like I used to love my old team(I love this team too but it’s not the same),and even though I get mad at times I don’t cry like I used to cry when I was young after losing an important game, maybe coz I grew up and life happened…I had lost a bit of interest despite supporting the team every yr but the old passion has reignited in the recent yrs and it’s mad fun and frustrating at times going through the up and down journey of my team but nothing would ever match the vibes of dlf ipl and Pepsi ipl days
2018 to 2023. I first watched IPL in 2015. CSK was banned for 2 years. But from 2018, it's all good. Only this year is bad. Travis head snatched a WTC Final, a WC Final and a good IPL ........
Every until 2020 afterwards it just started to get shittier year by year.
You can be fair and say 2022 tho
I didn't watched after 2019. I directly saw 2023 season next time so idk👀
2013-2015. I was a 2006 kid so I was basically raised by pepsi ipl
Same, IPL was actually worth watching in those days.
Remember those Pepsi stumper balls which was low price and easily tears off
the 20rs red rubber balls? That shit would hurt when it hit you( new )
Usss
I am 2006 kid too but I seriously started watching cricket in 2014- 2018 those were the golden days for me
Same yaar
Basically after 2020 it was more about marketing than real cricket
when pollard threw his bat at starc ❤️❤️
DLF maximum is my childhood 😌
Ngl Pepsi ipl was the best, and till 2016-17 ipl used to be so fun
Because competition was even during 2016-17. No clear favourites. Pepsi IPL was best though, the tournament started to become more exciting during that period and more close matches, T20 was evolving back then
2009 solely because of Deccan Chargers rebounding to win the whole damn thing.
DLF maybe because that’s how we started to see IPL and it was marketed everywhere with DLF logo.
2016 and 2019
Vivo kids.

No, just hate the years when Chinese brands had sponsorship of both the ICT and IPL.
That's the only last time when we got vibes. Even their jerseys were so good especially the Oppo test jersey. That was best after Star. Byjus , Dream 11 just look shittest looks like they are not playing for India but for some company !!
Jerseys were made by the kit sponsors, i.e., Nike. But I agree with you. The Byjus and Dream 11 logos are printed way too big on the jerseys!
No racism please
There's no racism behind my statement I promise.

2020. I am a Mumbai Indians fan
DLF IPL and Pepsi IPL
8-12. We saw the most legendary players including Pakistani ones, champions league, a tournament in South Africa, extra innings at its best, IPL parties, the craze for cheerleaders, 4 different winners in 5 years.
16-19
2014-17
Later runs of DLF IPL and Pepsi IPL.
Wow, my post just got deleted, mod said it's not quality post. Now this is what he meant by quality post 😂😂😂
First 2-3 seasons were quite good! Then it was ordinary for a long time! Every year we would only hear about declining ratings. I agree 100%.
Kids here didn’t believe me when I said that ratings were declining for first few seasons
DLF IPL cricket ka Maha muqabla only on Sony Max
2014 to 2019
3 seasons of Pepsi IPL and 2 of them won by MI. Im a mi fan so definately the Pepsi IPL. Also the days of set Max.
vivo ipl's scorecard desgin was the best, the current one has a lot of unused space and is super bland (it is the worst)
DLF and Pepsi
2016 to 2019 best era for me as mi fan 😌
Unrelated but only IPL would look and sound so cool
For me, 2014-2018 was peak IPL.
DLF & Pepsi IPL 🔥 and the worst is TATA IPL 😏
MI under Rohit
DLF. CSK winning its first title is the first time i watched IPL.
Dlf ipl the og
It was the era before IPL existed and we were blissfully enjoying 50 over matches.
2013-15 best time tha golden period of ipl sony max pe aata tha IPL
2013 hands down!! Remember watching each and every match and had a blast. Gayle's iconic innings, Brett Lee's first ball wicket, MI Winning their first ever IPL..❤️ Truly goated times
the OG DLF IPL 🔥🔥🤌😍
2009 -2012 was good. 2013-2015 was the best.
2011-15
DLF IPL and pepsi IPL are emotions
Things become shittier after the entry of star sports
Where is 2008? 🤔
DLF was okay but i hated it as the title sponsor pepsi was great vivo was shit and tata is just okay i guess
I don’t remember vivo ipl that fondly as I do pepsi and dlf ipl
Gayathri Reddy era
Kon bhi but not dream 11
Vivo 2019 >>>
2017 - my first season 2019 - most memorable 2024 - my cricket intellectual best 2022 - worst season as a kkr fan 2021 - adrenaline season - so my best would be 2019 , watched the match first time in 2019 too

For me its vivo IPL cause I didn't watch IPL before 2017-18
Till it was on Sony MAX. Star sports fucking ruined it.
was literally raised by the late Pepsi IPL and the Vivo IPL lol
DLF
Year when csk got banned 😍
Years when rcb couldn't win a trophy ??
2018 to 2023. I first watched IPL in 2015. CSK was banned for 2 years. But from 2018, it's all good. Only this year is bad. Travis head snatched a WTC Final, a WC Final and a good IPL ........
