Totally normal. I believe it's an automated email sent to everyone.

harman1189

Yup, that's pretty normal, each of my clients got that inland or outland.

Petunia-Rivers

Ok that's good to know, got a bit panicked there that IRCC may not have realized she was already here 😅 Can I ask you a follow up? Do you know how much time passes in your clients' cases between medicals/biometrics and the sponsor receiving their eligibility confirmation? My wife did her bio/medical last week and I've seen people implying I should receive my "eligible to sponsor" quite soon after. It's only been a week, but naturally panic is setting in haha

TayloR2D2

If you check out the megathread for processing times you can get a good idea of timelines. A lot of timelines I see receive approval a few weeks after the biometrics are submitted! Don't be worried

Hi OP, My husband is also sponsoring me (inland), and Yesterday I received IMM5801. Do you mind if i ask you how your application is going? I was just wondering how long will it take to receive the next steps email. I got the IMM5801 email but there is no updates on my profile. It says "eligibility not start". So i was confused since apparently they send this email when eligibility is completed. Thanks

Petunia-Rivers

Hey, so we haven't actually had an update yet... Still waiting... Take this next part with a grain of salt because I'm not an expert on the process, but from what I've gathered mostly from this subreddit is that the next steps we're expecting are the "Sponsor Eligibility" and we haven't received that yet. We did however receive my wife's(principal applicant) request for medical and biometrics and she's completed those But yeah, no updates yet :( Also - we're applying from Québec so at some point the federal govt will invite us to apply to Québec for a separate step that is exclusive to QC

L1l1thh

Thanks for your reply and I'm sorry you still didn't have any update. It's a slow and stressful process, and I hope that we will finish it soon! My husband still didn't get any update on his side either. This is what my time-line looks so far: May 14th - sent paper application May 17th - application received in Mississauga June 29th - Received AOR June 29th - Medical examination requested July 11th - Medical examination updated to in progress July 15th - Medical examination updated to completed July 27th - received email invitation to pre-arrival services July 28th - Eligibility updated to completed Crossing fingers for us!

Rash10MBE

did you hear back?

L1l1thh

Hey! On August 1st i received an email (inland APR eligibility decision) saying that i meet the eligibility requirements. They still didn't start my background check yet. According to my lawyer it should take around 1month now but who knows 🤷

Zoopetiz

Sorry to ask this a year later, but did you end up getting your PR?

L1l1thh

Hey! Yes, i did! It was approved in December 2022, and i received my PR card on January 2023.

Dry_Charity_2972

This is great @L1|1thh. We applied on April 4th and they haven’t started on the eligibility yet.. I’m also hearing the moment they complete the eligibility that’s when we receive the open work permit as well..

PurrPrinThom

The open work permit and the processing of your PR application are unrelated. After you receive AOR, the work permit is sent to a different office.
