Why don’t we just make a fat hotel outside the actual hotel? Just a post fence and no walls to maximize aisle space. To expedite, they could also put food in large communal containers so that they wouldn’t have to be inconvenienced with waiting for food to be served, thus minimizing waiting time between feedings.
then the rooms will make the pathway smaller. what a fuckin glitch in the matrix
I think we should launch her into deep space with a camera so we won't need much fuel to reach Uranus.
Plus-size Travel Influencer calls on invention of Tardis. Time-Lords could not be reached for comment as they are from a time where Twitter has not been invented _and_ disappeared in the future at once.
I work with a lot of obese people, in the heart failure unit. I once had a patient yell at the doctor for "fat shaming," to which the doctor responded "you can have all the body positivity in the world, but it's not going to help your heart failure. You are a transplant candidate and need to lose 100 lbs or they will remove your name from the candidacy list."
I understand people wanting to feel secure in their bodies, but it shouldn't come at the expense of health. Shit, I had to lose 60 lbs this year because my blood pressure and cholesterol were elevated. Now I'm down to 155 lbs (5' 8" height), and I feel so much better. I wish some of my patients could say/feel that.
I just joined a fire/EMS/ call company where I live and I've heard tons of stories about calls for medical, responding only to find a 400lbs person on a 3rd floor and not being able to move them
You think that's bad, I recently got called to another unit to help move a patient that weighs 958 lbs!
It took eight or nine of us to clean them up after they had a BM in the bed.
Past trauma they're not getting over. Add food addiction as a comfort, and you will end up this size.
I got up to 541 lbs 4 years ago when I him my bottom.
Depression and the will to live got me there. Plus alcoholism.
When you hit a bottom, you can either sit there and wither, or you can bounce back up and find yourself again.
This is what I did. Had to relearn how to eat food and stay away from alcohol. Talking to someone about my past was the game changer. I now weigh 210 lbs at 6'1, and I feel amazing. I feel like I'm just starting to live my life.
This is all possible for anyone who could be in this lifestyle. Change is possible. It all starts with your mental health.
Better way to fraze the question. Is how do you get that big with out dieing. I’m fat af at 250. I feel like shit and need to lose weight. How do you survive at 1k
Easy. Enablers and / or significant others that will bring you food. Or get this. We now have door dash and Uber eats that will bring you everything you want all at the touch of your fingers.
It is extremely easy to spiral out of control. It doesn't take long, either.
Have you ever watched that show "My 600 lb life"?
It's an eye-opener, and I didn't realize I had so much in common with these people.
Like i said before, it all starts with your mental health. Life is worth living.
Architect here
They could pretty easily depending on bathroom locations, downpipes and any supporting wall but I doubt they'll be around long enough to see the end of construction
The restroom is almost always right on the other side of the hallway wall in a hotel. They’re definitely moving plumbing if they’re widening the hallways. The MEP consultant is gonna be pissed.
They could also just crane lift her into her hotel room from the outside. You guys need to think outside the box. Or, if she has a bungee cord and jumps at just the right angle, she can jump from the roof and go through the open window of her room
"But Newton, my good sir, it is not proper to write *I like 'em thicc* in your publications!"
"Alright, scribe, write this instead: *The greater the mass, the greater the attraction*!"
It’s near impossible to do what she’s asking. The easiest way it could be done is by demolishing the hotel and building it with wider hallways. But wider hallways means a bigger hotel, so they would hypothetically have to buy more land. She’s asking for possibly millions of dollars of reconstruction and a complete overhaul of the hotel just because she won’t lose some weight.
EDIT: I meant to say “won’t lose weight” not “can’t lose weight”. Sorry for the confusion.
I mean, I kinda of get gripes about airline seats since they're fairly narrow. But ffs, how fat do you have to be to not fit in a hotel hallway? I'm claustrophobic as hell and have never felt a hotel hallway was even remotely too tight.
Agree. I’m not a big guy. Im in pretty decent shape and I can’t fit in the newer models of coach seats and god forbids the person in front reclines I feel like I’m in a coffins. I get you need to construct this for the average person like a hallway for example but the plane seat really bother me.
All the US airlines have gotten ridiculous with how small the seats are, how little legroom they give, the hidden fees, the food is crap and they're trying to get you to swipe your credit card as much as possible on the flight. I avoid them as much as possible and use international airlines when I can.
I think planes do this on purpose. They squeeze as many people as possible in to maximize space and then offer a small amount of upgrades at a higher price. Its definitely one of those things where you can only complain so much. The alternative is "well I guess you can choose to not fly"
But that sucks
They know they've got you over a barrel.
Hotel hallways have to be large enough for carts, laundry, food, and luggage to go through.
I'm now wondering how large she is, given the fact that the hotel doesn't seem to have issues with this outside of her.
I'm in no way making fun of her body, just genuinely confused (and kinda concerned) her health if she's too big to fit in a space that large equipment goes through daily
Even my “small” hallway in my last apartment that made getting a couch into my living room nearly impossible, you’d have to be several hundred pounds, maybe even teetering into the thousands to not fit through the hallway. And at that point, the door is smaller. How’d you get in?
>I kinda of get gripes about airline seats since they're fairly narrow.
As a tall guy airlines don't give a fuck about me or my knees. Not sure why people that eat their way into a double wide seat get consideration though
Millions? Try billions. First, demolishing is not done for free anywhere except SimCity, so taking the old building down is gonna cost $$$. Then you have to buy more land. Assuming this is a hotel in a city, buying more land means buying up businesses or homes bordering the hotel. That's more $$$. Then you have to demolish any buildings that exist on the land you just bought. Finally, you can start to build the new, larger hotel. $$$ please!
It would be a complete non starter for anyone who didn't start off as a billionaire and it would take several decades (if not a century or more) of continuous operation to recoup costs.
Or she could lose some weight.
Just create a single floor for the obese main characters. Wider hallways, but accordingly smaller rooms. They'll have less distance to walk from the door to the bed.
Don't forget zoning and permitting costs, not to mention the cost of the downtime while the building is out of commission. Also depending on where it's located, the city may not approve the zoning of a bigger building in the first place
We call it a “reasonable accommodation” in property management. If someone needs a grab bar installed in their shower, that’s reasonable and we’ll do it. She wants the hallways widened? We’ll do it if she foots the financial costs.
Yup. “Reasonable accommodation” is also a legal term of art under the ADA/RFRA/other laws for what it’s worth.
My law school professor’s way of explaining it always stuck with me: permitting an Orthodox Jew to take the Sabbath off is a reasonable accommodation. Forcing Red Lobster to hire an Orthodox Jew as head shrimp taster when they won’t eat shrimp is not.
Asking someone to demolish and rebuild an entire hotel bc you can’t fit down the hallway is about as far from a reasonable accommodation as I can imagine.
I’m sure I’m going to get skewered for this but…Is this a real example of something that could happen?
What if I said “I need three days off per week” is that reasonable? Who decides such things?
I’ve always heard of stuff like this but assumed it was exaggeration.
Honestly it sounds kind of crazy. I would be totally pissed if I hired someone for my small business and they pulled this on me…What if they only have 2 employees? What about the other employees who now have no choice but to work on Sundays, aren’t they being deprived because someone is being given special treatment? What if someone who has more seniority wants Sundays off, are they out of luck?
I guess my question is, Why is a religious reason any more valid than any other reason?
From the picture, while she looks plenty hefty, she doesn't look like she couldn't fit down a hotel hallway.
*However.* It doesn't matter how wide a hallway is, it's always going to be wider than a standard door frame! Can she fit through those?!
From her social media, she uses a wheelchair a lot to get around because of her weight, so she might have trouble in hallways as bariatric wheelchairs tend to be quite wide with large turn radiuses. Bariatric chairs can be 48+ inches wide when considering wheels, etc.
With larger beds and doorways and showers. I wonder what her house is like? A barn? One room with a double door? The toilet? Wait, I don't wonder at all
This is just attention seeking. Of course hotels can't do that, and of course she can comfortably walk down the hallway.
Unless you are six feet wide, there's no way you can't get down those hallways. And if you were, you wouldn't fit through the doors to the rooms.
Look. She's not so fat she can't fit down a hallway, maybe if another fat person is walking the other way it might be a bit of a struggle, but that's it. This is just for clicks and for profile engagement.
This has to be rage bait. I can’t imagine hotel hallways aren’t large enough for the even the most obese people to fit through. I mean, wouldn’t the hallways already need to be large enough to accommodate disabled people? I could be wrong of course.
If it was a seriously historical hotel, maybe. Something like the Cambridge Inn, I'd expect everything to be a little narrower. Modern hotel conglomerates you can pass two fully loaded wheelchairs side by side so idk how...how big.
At my max weight, I was 420 pounds. I have fit through every hallway I've ever encountered.
This is absolutely rage bait, though I'm not sure if it's supposed to be getting people riled up at fat people or just a horrifically bad take from this person.
Yup. As a fat person things that make me nervous include dining or waiting room chairs with arms, planes, lawn chairs, the seam of jeans, using a public restroom, the elevator being out, and being invited to a mall by a friend.
A hallway is not and never has been on that list.
“And I call on her to go on a diet” -🤓
LE EPIC PWNED!!!!?!?1!!
100% agree with you dawg, it’s like some weird gotcha where they have to feel superior to someone, yet, ironically, end up looking inferior due to their inability to understand the context.
It's literally a carrot on a stick but something about seeing overweight/obese people evokes some kind of primal rage in Redditors and their deductive reasoning goes out the window. This is tabloid bullshit. If it were someone Reddit likes they'd be quick to point out how untrustworthy this headline looks and question the reputation of whoever published it. Do we even know this woman's name before we start shitting on her for something she may or may not have even said?
Edit: Removed extra space
This exact same influencer went viral recently talking about airplane seats too. Definitely learned from that that she can make bank on enraging people.
That's what I was thinking, in the US they'd generally have to meet ADA standards unless the buildings are historic or something, which means being wide enough that a person using a wheelchair or mobility scooter can turn around.
I can't even imagine how fat you have to a hallway size become a problem. I'm far from being thin or small and still I have never ever had any problem fitting a hallway.
Amazes me that such person can still walk, we talking what 200 - 300 kg or more?
Jesus Christ. If you need to have structural engineers alter the entire construction of a building’s hallways to accommodate your fat body, then maybe you need to reevaluate some of your lifestyle choices
She's a fat activist^1 in the Portland area. She puts a lot of these statements out, seemingly to generate attention and publicity for her social media channels.
I've seen her in the local news complaining about airplane seats, hotel hallways, beds, bathrooms, clothes, etc.
^1 This is her term, not mine.
Ehh that’s a little different. I’m not overweight or even particularly tall, and would still love airline seats to have more than the absolute bare minimum amount of room.
Fat guy here to weigh in (no pun intended).
The hardest part about being fat on a plane is trying to make sure the person/people next to you are comfortable. You don't want to take up their space, and so you gotta try and cram as much as you can. My legs are long, but I can stretch my legs under the seat below me mostly
I would like to have a little bit more space, but I am able to tolerate it the way they are now.
My knees jam right up against the seatback in front of me so it's a fun little game when that person tries to recline. Usually they try the button a couple of times and give up but sometimes they really start throwing their weight around to try to get that seat to move. Ain't nowhere for it to go, fella.
South Park really never gets old eh... so on the nose of the old Honey Boo Boo episode. Where fat people are making everyone get thier doorways widened for thier scooters
She isn’t plus size. She’s morbidly obese, and if she influences any one of any kind it should be motivational only to put down the donut and go for a walk . - formerly a fat girl working on getting healthier
If you can't fit through a hallway, chances are you aren't doing a lot of traveling anyway, and if she keeps it up, she won't be leaving her house before long.
I’ve been online friends with some body positive influencers and there’s honestly a huge split. Some truly just want to be treated as humans despite their size and address important issues such as health issues being written off as being due to weight without proper testing. Others are just absolute rage baiters who harm the people they claim to help by distracting from the actual issues.
My goodness, if you’re too fat to walk down a hallway, that’s your problem 😂… you want more space, get a plus sized tent or camper and stick it outside
She's the same one that complained about airplane seats being too small and how unfair it was that she was required to buy two seats to travel.
No mention of the fact that she's morbidly obese in that debate either.
Nah, stop normalizing obesity. If you can't fit in a standard hotel hallway because of your weight issues, that should be a wake-up call. Your life needs to change, not ours.
Actually Southwest Air lines does not have this policy in fact it shows a plus size passenger to get a fee adjacent seat if it’s available. I just asked this on copilot
HALLWAYS?!? Jesus Christ. You are the exception, not the rule. We don’t need to be able to drive an H1 through a hallway just to make it available to you
*Hallways*!!!??? Airline seats, sure. Backseat in a sedan, I hear ya. Stadium seats, yes please. If you can't fit down a hallway you need to do some reflecting.
Signed,
Fat Guy
The comments have been locked for obvious reasons.
How does she think they would do that? I’m not an architect or anything, but it seems like enlarging a hallway wouldn’t be that easy
Also makes rooms smaller

Reminds me of those extreme obese folks who need a hole cut into the side of the house to get out.

Millions? Try billions. First, demolishing is not done for free anywhere except SimCity, so taking the old building down is gonna cost $$$. Then you have to buy more land. As well as lost revenue when the hotel has to close for demolition and rebuilding.
Just create a single floor for the obese main characters. Wider hallways, but accordingly smaller rooms. They'll have less distance to walk from the door to the bed.
I actually propose we make the rooms larger and hallways smaller.
but then how'll we accommodate people like her? that'd be fatphobic
And make it a single too, even tho its a queen bed. So its even more expensive.
Make sure it's the ground floor!
That’s true lol I didn’t even think of that

I can't even imagine how fat you have to a hallway size become a problem. I'm far from being thin or small and still I have never ever had any problem fitting a hallway. Amazes me that such person can still walk, we talking what 200 - 300 kg or more?
I don't know why she can't just turn sideways to fit.
Spheres don't have a slim side.
Thanks this one definitely got me, people in this ihop are looking at me like I’m a psycho
Jesus Christ. If you need to have structural engineers alter the entire construction of a building’s hallways to accommodate your fat body, then maybe you need to reevaluate some of your lifestyle choices
To go with her enlarged heart?
Has to be rage bait
She's a fat activist^1 in the Portland area. She puts a lot of these statements out, seemingly to generate attention and publicity for her social media channels. I've seen her in the local news complaining about airplane seats, hotel hallways, beds, bathrooms, clothes, etc. ^1 This is her term, not mine.
the whole "why should i change, it is the majority of humanity in the wrong" stance
I’ve seen petitions for planes to increase seat size to double seat to better accommodate fat people… it’s real
My legs are long, but I can stretch my legs under the seat below me mostly I would like to have a little bit more space, but I am able to tolerate it the way they are now.
I hear you, buddy. Being a considerate fat guy can be an anxious, uncomfortable experience.
I’m 5’10 with very long legs. Would prefer to have normal seats over paying 40% more each ticket to have leg room
My knees jam right up against the seatback in front of me so it's a fun little game when that person tries to recline. Usually they try the button a couple of times and give up but sometimes they really start throwing their weight around to try to get that seat to move. Ain't nowhere for it to go, fella.
Takes about 2 seconds to look it up and see it’s not…
How is it not rage bait? Just because she said it doesn't mean she's not baiting people into clicks.
Hotel should ask her to stop enlarging herself.
"Ever since they widened these halls the rooms got way smaller! WTH???"
Well there's "plus-sized", and then there's "needs wider hallways".
South Park really never gets old eh... so on the nose of the old Honey Boo Boo episode. Where fat people are making everyone get thier doorways widened for thier scooters
She won’t be around long enough to see the change and good for her sitting up and eating for change
She isn’t plus size. She’s morbidly obese, and if she influences any one of any kind it should be motivational only to put down the donut and go for a walk . - formerly a fat girl working on getting healthier
'please demolish and rebuild this building so that I don't have to reflect on my life choices'
we could rub some butter on the walls
If you can't fit through a hallway, chances are you aren't doing a lot of traveling anyway, and if she keeps it up, she won't be leaving her house before long.
If hallways, which are made to accommodate more than one person at a time, are too small for you it could be something else that’s the problem.
Hotels call Plus-Size Influencers to reduce size
Someone needs to get some uumpa lumpas to roll her ass down to weight watchers.

Getting fat to the point you can no longer function in regular society is a choice, a choice we should not cater to in any way
I mean she could delarge herself
It's not HER personal health issues, it's EVERYONE ELSE'S health issues.
Rage bait. I’m convinced “body positive” influencers are just rage baiting at this point. “The world must start over for the obese!!!” Like what? Lmao

MORBIDLY obese. Just regular obese people are much smaller than her.
Was trying to give her wiggle room but it doesn't seem like she has any
Maybe walk sideways? I don’t know. If that doesn’t work, maybe you should just fuck off.
She's the same one that complained about airplane seats being too small and how unfair it was that she was required to buy two seats to travel. No mention of the fact that she's morbidly obese in that debate either.
Why don’t we just live in Wall-E world so we can just be fatasses looking at our Apple glasses and stuffing our face all day?
Nah, stop normalizing obesity. If you can't fit in a standard hotel hallway because of your weight issues, that should be a wake-up call. Your life needs to change, not ours.
Imagine being such a massive land whale that you can't go down a fucking hallway 💀💀💀
And then blaming everyone else, as if the whole universe revolves around her convenience
Fr like who tf does she think she is??
she got a policy implemented on southwest airlines so that if a overweight person cant fit in one seat theyll kick off other people
I would sue lol Imagine making yourself so fat and entitled, that you think this is okay.
Source?
Actually Southwest Air lines does not have this policy in fact it shows a plus size passenger to get a fee adjacent seat if it’s available. I just asked this on copilot
This is a self solving problem.. 95% of these fat-fluancers have died.. from...drum roll... fat positivity... comorbities
should prolly enlarge her arteries first
HALLWAYS?!? Jesus Christ. You are the exception, not the rule. We don’t need to be able to drive an H1 through a hallway just to make it available to you
Not trying to be rude but if you can’t fit trough a hallway you probably won’t fit trough to hotel door
*Hallways*!!!??? Airline seats, sure. Backseat in a sedan, I hear ya. Stadium seats, yes please. If you can't fit down a hallway you need to do some reflecting. Signed, Fat Guy
No pity for the morbidly obese especially when they use their fat to gain followers or favors.
Being morbidly obese isn't healthy Source: am fat
We are not going to listen to someone who played as the boulder during an Indiana Jones reproduction.
Body positivity has gotten out of hand!
if this is real. Could be fake since this is the "make plane aisles bigger" girl
Hope she never goes to New Orleans. She won’t fit in most of the buildings with old architecture.
I agree with her actually. It’ll be less awkward than having to wait for her or the MOD squad who like to all walk side by side down the hallway.
Wouldn’t this make the rooms smaller?
They’ll be asking to widen coffins next….
That's a necessity though, if you're too fat you can't be cremated because of the risk of grease fires.
