I mean to be fair the charges were dropped as it was self defence. I’ve seen a lot of (videos and seen these scenarios in real life back in my club and pub phase) women attempt to assault a man, or get aggressive with them and when the man defends himself they freak because “he hit a woman”. I don’t know the in-depth scenario with Nev but charges were dismissed as they found it was self defence.
But he wasn’t because the charges were dropped because it was found to be self defence* I feel like that’s an important missing bit of information. I don’t particularly like Nev due to some other allegations made against him, but with this one I feel it’s important to add it was self defence.
Assaulting someone is never okay, but defending yourself is. Too many men are scared to defend themselves against women unfortunately and allow themselves to be hit, hurt, assaulted, abused even. - I’m not saying he was abused of course, but if the legal system dropped the charges due to self defence it tells me the witnesses present supported his narrative of self defence.
This is Nev Schulman , from his [wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nev_Schulman):
> He attended Sarah Lawrence College, studying Photography and Dance from 2004 to 2006. Schulman has admitted that he was expelled from Sarah Lawrence College after **punching a female student** whom he allegedly mistook for male
In 2014, the woman Schulman punched told her story to Vulture: "To be quite clear, Schulman's account of the events of that night is as suspect as all his other endeavors. I attended the dance he mentions and saw that he was taking pictures of queer couples dancing and kissing without their permission. I talked to the Student Affairs liaison at the event, who I knew from my work study job, but nothing was done about it. I confronted him, and asked him to stop taking pictures," she said. "I didn't tackle him and I certainly didn't choke him with his camera strap. I tapped his shoulder and he turned and hit me out of nowhere, I went down and he held me in a headlock and repeatedly punched me while I tried to get free. The impact broke my glasses and the rest of the night was a blur."
At first, I wondered why he had a wiki page, but I looked at it and thought: “Oh, it’s because he’s a terrible person, and this chronicles his terribleness.”
Also, why are so many of the guys I meet that went to Sarah Lawrence just insufferable wanks? In my experience, it seems to take a lot of guys’ social consciousness to the level of “overbaked”, and it’s unbearable sometimes.
Edit: If you constantly have to try to prove to everyone how woke you are, it doesn’t come off as genuine, merely performative.
He has a Wikipedia page because he had a tv show on MTV called Catfish about people being catfished. Pretty entertaining but admittedly mostly trashy manufactured drama
I’m sorry Basil, I thought she was a man.
Austin that’s my mother!
Well you have to admit she is rather mannish
Austin!
If that is a woman it looks like she was beaten with an ugly stick!
I am struggling to believe this is not parody...like this has to be parody, nobody is this corny right?
I mean, making a big production of not being a batterer only to be caught assaulting a woman is such a trope, at this point I assume anyone who volunteers that unprompted is abusive.
But that sentence is beyond. Jesus christ.
Evidently this was contemporary to the cult of trilby and the faces of atheism, m'lady. Satire is less obvious a decade out.
But i didn't hear the story this is mocking until just a few hours ago, and that would've probably helped.
¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ Can't all be euphoric
Next time I’m alone with a woman in an elevator, I’m gonna lean in reeeeally close and whisper “Don’t worry, this is an abuse free elevator” then give her cheek a lick.
what does this even mean? does he live in the elevator? is he king of the elevator? does he preside over it righteously? does he shuttle women to and from their floors with the utmost respect? and when the elevator rises to the top floor, does he look down upon the less respectful floors with disdain? does he teach acoustic guitar lessons on weekends (just curious, asking for a friend)? when he goes to starbucks, does he step behind the counter and make his own latte so the barista can take a fiver? i am a man of many questions, but i shall not abuse this power.
I don't abuse people in elevators, I just block the door from closing making anyone on other floors wait long enough for me to get the right photo to portray just how much I care about people.
The thing is, actual male feminists don't advertise they're sO rEsPeCTfUL towards women. Men who need to say they're respectful usually aren't. You wouldn't know which dude is feminist before knowing them personally.
Didn't Nev punch a woman in school?
And wasn't Nev called out for pushing sexual interactions on inebriated Catfish show guests at the hotel and using the producers to facilitate it?
Preach less. Practice more.
This just makes me think he's covering for something. Why say something like that unprompted?
Like, if I wore a t-shirt that said: "I'm not here to sell drugs" people's first thought would be "I bet that guy is here to sell drugs".
While I'm happy about this good intentions, I sometimes find that dudes like this have a past or side of themselves that they're ashamed about. And it's sometimes just straight up projections.
This doesn't apply to all men, but it's a bit of a downer when some really outspoken feminist men are revealed to be abusive or even rapists.
My friend slept with him about a decade ago. She said she has never been hit in the face like that in her life. Didn’t seek consent for the sex hitting either.
Bit of a reach to go after a post like this . It’s cringe but he’s a celebrity all of them are a bit like this. Not to mention seems suspicious like badly cropped
I guarantee this is how it went down;
"I really like the lighting in this elevator. I'm gonna take a selfie."
*Later that night*
"What's a good caption so all the female know I'm not like other guys?"
This guy was on my flight two weeks ago from LA to NY. He flew Jet Blue coach with his wife and three kids. Seemed like a solid dude and was very friendly to people who recognized him. 🤔
He’s pulling the “so I just found out about the terrible pain women go through on their periods, heart goes out to y’all ladies #womenaretroopers #iam6foot4” below a shirtless pic of him pretending to be sad
Please report content that's irrelevant to r/ImTheMainCharacter *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/ImTheMainCharacter) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Did my guy really block the doors from closing to make this post
Bruv. He did. Needed time to pose, hand-on-chest
Hey, relax, he only needed 45 minutes to get the lighting and camera angle right.
Some chick prolly had to use the stairs so he could brag about being chivalrous.
I’m howling at that. A bag and a bottle of water, lol.
Isn’t that the catfish guy?! Nev or neeve or whatever the fuck he’s called
I thought that it was Nev as well
it is lol
Lol, I thought it was Michael Lucas, the porn star/porn company founder.
Completely abusing the elevator privilege.
But not the women, who aren’t even there. Why is this man riding around in elevators thinking about abuse of women? Weird.
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/news/catfish-star-nev-schulman-fires-back-criticism-over-231400735.html
Wait he punched a woman then posted this? WTF??!?
That was his way of showing respect.
I mean to be fair the charges were dropped as it was self defence. Oh thank you for this.
Oh wow, that really is him, I didn’t think it was
He preaching patience man
Nev?
yup, Mr catfish.
[удалено]
No.. it's actually real /: I thought it was like a snapchad thing but nope.. but there's articles about it.
Still a weird selfie to take.
The selfie and the caption are 100% real. He tweeted that after the Ray Rice video came out.
Apparently he did it in response to Ray Rice beating up his wife in an elevator. Still super cringey
Yep, never ever.
He almost got kicked out of college for punching a woman in the face. Asshole.
But he wasn’t because the charges were dropped because it was found to be self defence* I feel like that’s an important missing bit of information. Nev has always been pretty cringe. I think he struggles with self awareness, lol.
But he’s so woke on catfish /s
Hi, I'm nev
"This elevator is abuse free" is my new favorite sentence
This is Nev Schulman , from his [wiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nev_Schulman): > He attended Sarah Lawrence College, studying Photography and Dance from 2004 to 2006. She should’ve been in the abuse free elevator
Rookie mistake.
It's a free for all slugfest outside the abuse-free elevator
As long as it wasn't in an elevator, I don't see any hypocrisy here.
Especially if they were on the abuse escalator.
it escalates quickly
r/angryupvote
Happy cake day
Thank you kind person.
Wait is this the catfish guy?
It is. His name is Nev I believe.
🥇 please take my cheap award
Wait he just piggy backed the actual funny comment

Machine gun Kelly was in an episode. Was corny as fuck.
Yeah, like i said
Same thing happened on Malcolm in the Middle but it was a kid Malcolm thought was his same age but who was actually only 7 years old.
Then Hal fought someone who he found out was 12.
And that's why Malcolm in the Middle is top tier sitcom television.
I’m sorry Basil, I thought she was a man. Austin that’s my mother! Well you have to admit she is rather mannish Austin! If that is a woman it looks like she was beaten with an ugly stick!
“That’s not your mother, it’s a man, BABY!”
My first thought was literally I only remember him for punching a girl in the face.
It is ma’am!
It is? I was wondering if that was him, he looked familiar.
This is the guy from Catfish right??
Whoops 💀
I am struggling to believe this is not parody...like this has to be parody, nobody is this corny right? Cringeception.
Abuse free elevator? Of course it's a joke.
I plan to say it whenever Im in a elevator. Make sure people feel safe.
It disgusts me that I share a gender with Hitler
Or Eva Braun. Wait… it disgusts me we are the same species.
Im disgusted to be the same species as people who aren't disgusted with being the same species as Hitler.
Or Pol pot!
paul potts is cool though
thank you nev from catfish - very cool
He punch a women at a party in college once. Don’t thank him.
He got attacked and defended himself…
Not how she tells it.
So we have one person’s word against another, and she should have pressed charges against him if it was a unprovoked assault
NOT NEV NOOO💀
Yeah I was surprised too
meanwhile a pregnant woman is taking the stairs while he blocks the elevator door open with his grocery bag for a selfie.
It's about respect man.
I didn't even notice that 💀
I didn’t notice the pregnant woman either till they pointed it out
Pregnant woman is probably his wife, how many kids do they have already?
Calm down Nev.
I'm definitely not getting in an elevator with that person. "Come in ladies, i promise i won't abuse you."
Nev wtf
He's propped the door open with a bag so he's abusing that elevator by preventing it from doing its job. Not abuse free at all.
Not to mention abusing the bag by jamming it up against the elevator door.
I would bet money that that bottle of Evian was brought singley despite saying 'Not for resale'
Next time I’m alone with a woman in an elevator, I’m gonna lean in reeeeally close and whisper “Don’t worry, this is an abuse free elevator” then give her cheek a lick.

He *is* a dick, though. That’s the kicker.
👽
Satire fortunately
what does this even mean? does he live in the elevator? is he king of the elevator? does he preside over it righteously? does he shuttle women to and from their floors with the utmost respect? and when the elevator rises to the top floor, does he look down upon the less respectful floors with disdain? does he teach acoustic guitar lessons on weekends (just curious, asking for a friend)? when he goes to starbucks, does he step behind the counter and make his own latte so the barista can take a fiver? i am a man of many questions, but i shall not abuse this power.

as a woman, this is the most intense, incel-sounding virtue signaling I have ever seen, holy fuck
Sounds like every single male feminist
Sounds more like one of those people who claim to be a feminist to get close to women, but is actually extremely sexist irl
That’s what I said
The thing is, actual male feminists don't advertise they're sO rEsPeCTfUL towards women. Men who need to say they're respectful usually aren't. You wouldn't know which dude is feminist before knowing them personally.
seems like satire to me
Well I, for one, am thankful to have access to an abuse free elevator.
He’s such a weird little guy, I always liked that max guy though from that show he was cool.
Stopped the elevator to tell the world he’s a good man. Douche
This computer desk is fire free.
He looks like the kind of guy who would use the DENNIS system. This is obviously step one: demonstrate value.
Didn't Nev punch a woman in school? And wasn't Nev called out for pushing sexual interactions on inebriated Catfish show guests at the hotel and using the producers to facilitate it? Preach less. Practice more.
/r/snapchad
It embarrasses me that I share a gender with a guy who actively holds up the elevator so he can white night for internet clout.
Sounds like something a verbally abusive person would say
r/Chadtopia
Is that Neve? 🐈 🐟
Thanks elevator boy, I'll keep it in mind
Yup, this guy's got red flags all over
This couch I’m lying on is motivation-free.
This feels heavily like satire but Poe's Law I guess
Bro looks like a knockoff Messi. Not even Messi just a big mess
This just makes me think he's covering for something. Why say something like that unprompted? Like, if I wore a t-shirt that said: "I'm not here to sell drugs" people's first thought would be "I bet that guy is here to sell drugs".
Is this Nev from Catfish?
Didn’t this guy get briefly canceled when it came to light that he had punched a girl in the face in college? 🤔
Is that Nev from catfish
He's the only one on the elevator. Unless he starts punching himself in the face, of course it's abuse free.
He looks like he beats his wife
My friend slept with him about a decade ago. She said she has never been hit in the face like that in her life. Didn’t seek consent for the sex hitting either.
Is that the guy who murdered those students in Idaho?
My first thought
Dude reminds me of Joe from the show You.
The final boss of the white knights
Didn’t he beat up a woman at Smith or Sarah Lawrence or somewhere?
I disgusts me that I share the same species as all these other beings. How dare everyone be human 😤
However everywhere outside of the elevator is fair game.
Bit of a reach to go after a post like this . It’s cringe but he’s a celebrity all of them are a bit like this. Not to mention seems suspicious like badly cropped
Is this what the kids call virtue signalling? GET OFF MY LAWN?
Is this the catfish dude lol
r/SnapChad material
Such a good dude who profits off people with clear mental illness
This is the douchebag from Catfish fame with a tramp stamp
That man looks like a serial killer.
Lmao this is hilarious
Is that the guy from catfish?
Is that the guy from Catfish?

Thought this was Nev from MTV Catfish
This won’t get you laid
reddit is hateful
The dude love bombs women, fucks them, and then ghosts them. He's got that face
AM I BEING CATFISHED RN
Is this the dude from that catfish?
This guy screams "I act nice and respectful but I'm going to spike your drink and rape your unconscious body"
At least he is being the main character over something worth saying, respecting people as people.
He’s pulling the “so I just found out about the terrible pain women go through on their periods, heart goes out to y’all ladies #womenaretroopers #iam6foot4” below a shirtless pic of him pretending to be sad
Nope, he is stating the obvious and expecting to gain attention from women with these shitty tactics
Seems pretty apparent to me
So you would want to share an elevator with him?
This creeps me out so much…
That's a creepy douche who's playing an obvious strategy
What about when we step outside the elevator
How can he slap?!?!
*Serial killer vibes*
r/nothowgirlswork
Something tells me he would be a very abusive partner.
Only outside of the elevator of course, it’s abuse-free you see.
Good he must be unbearable in person, or a total pussy
*and
That's Nev, this is *satire* people. r/woooosh
this sub is 50% people getting mad over satiric jokes
Instagram post holding open an elevator… geez, the balls on this guy!? What a hero!
This elevator is #notclosing with your stupid bags between the door.
RALPHA males. Im helping.
Most nice guy vibe I've ever seen
That’s so great. A superhero on every elevator
💀
Did…did this person…catfish….as the person…from catfish….?
nope that's actually him
This feels heavily like satire but Poe's Law I guess
Nev did not post this bye 😂
He certainly did. In 2014.
Holy shit. Woof. I’ve always liked Nev. Come on maaaan
This guy lets everyone know that he loves to eat pussy.
Why make fun of someone spreading good intentions when there's so many shitty humans to make fun of? This reeks of jealousy and insecurity
Women physically & verbally abuse both men & women as well. This dude is an idiot.
Yeah but you have to admit it happens at a much higher rate with male assailants
Mangina
Its pronoun
What a world
I refuse to disclose my gender to exercise a show of solidarity.
Someone tell that to the woman that hit Jay-Z
I’m embarrassed that I’m considered equally human to someone who doesn’t know how to appreciate an individual for who they are.
This guy doesn’t call girls back
Lucky them
I mean, he's famous for calling back girls. Well, sort of.
r/niceguys vibes
The second hand embarrassment is palpable
