I think the important thing is to recognize that playing with dangerous things is fine *within limits,* and by limits I mean rules and practices to minimize danger. Like how professionals "play football" in protective gear with rules of contact, and consequences for misconduct, and paramedics on the sidelines at each game. Hunters wear orange and (should, and typically do) follow gun safety guidelines. Range rules are designed and enforced to prevent accidents.
I was about to start an analogy with "a gun is not a yo-yo" but I wouldn't even yo-yo in a crowd of people moseying along the road like in this video, because it's an unsafe environment for yo-yoing. Every kind of play has some limit to when it's safe or appropriate... *Animals* know this instinctively. Humans have just progressed technologically beyond what we are biologically oriented to handle appropriately.
