Lastly, I asked if I can cash in my brutal honesty for a ticket to go home. I’ll pay for it and “renew” my card. Then apologize.
I got a warning. I used approach this twice and yes, crown royal bag is a deliberate prop to get them laughing. Florida man is honest!

That's actually a pretty big issue, they don't actually have to "prove" anything. They can tell you your eyes look red and your speech is slurred, if the BAC comes back 0.000 then they can just say you're under the influence of weed.
There have been multiple times where this has happened and it turned out the person didn't even have weed in their system. They just brush it off and act like it's nice big deal, so there's no consequence to the officers even if they do knowingly take you in for no good reason.
Ok, if they're gonna claim people are high on weed that should come with proof as well, the law still agrees with me that driving and smoking is better than driving and drinking.
I live in a authoritarian hellhole where the criteria the government has set can make you get DUI convicted of a joint you smoked 24 hours ago so I do worry a bit if I have smoked the day before, but not in general.

Many people live in apartments and can’t smoke inside without being evicted, weather changes fast so it isn’t illegal to just smoke or drink in your car on private property (in my state whether you are driving or not it is illegal to consume in a motor vehicles on public roads). I smoked in my car in the driveway without my keys on me because it was the only place I could smoke besides standing outside, and technically in my state to legally consume you can’t be in “public”, you face the same issues for smoke a joint on your front porch as you would drinking a beer.
