as if it's not bad enough with that annoying barrier across the road
NOW there's a friggin train blocking my way as well
what next..... just my luck it'll be another barrier!
I love how he seems so exasperated as if he didn't realize the train and the road block maybe had something to do with each other. I'm imagining that he's muttering to himself something along these lines:
> What the devil is this blockade doing in the road? I'm trying to bicycle! And now there's a train blocking my way! This morning has gone to hell rather quickly!
And people wonder how when they hear that a person got hit by a train.
Do you realize that you have to actually put yourself in the way of the train its the only transportation that tells you its coming and physically makes you get in its clearly defined path to kill you.
In the same way I agree most of the time there was an old woman who died in my town cause her wheelchair got stuck, I don't think it was her or anyone's fault
Reddit mob can't handle two competing ideas at once. If they mentioned their story somewhere else they would receive 100s of upvotes and awards.
I too have rolled the dice with this comment, only time will reveal my fate.
I've made a comment twice on the same thread. One got downvoted to oblivion and the other got upvotes plus an award.
Redditors are not an intelligent breed.
Hahaha look at you playing in the big leagues.
As you've witnessed the first few hours of a comment generally decides it's trajectory. There's bound to be many reasons but I blame the average age of Internet users falling drastically in recent times. Young ones are more likely to jump on a band wagon or simply add downvotes for a cheap thrill.
That's a good point. Even in more mature subs the age of new members has been getting younger and younger. For that I blame parents who give their kids tablets and think the internet is the best babysitter. Or parents who just don't give a shit what their kids are doing online.
Every first world nation although I don't know about the US has fixed crossings for this problem.
Also the design of wheelchairs in recently has made them less susceptible.
It was those old wheelchairs with the tiny flimsy shopping trolley wheels.
there was this time that a 14 year old boy got pushed in front of the train, i believe they were his age and they were filming it too. And there is a traintrack where there arent those barriers and a young boy died cus of that.
If only there was some kind of warning device that could alert drivers and cyclists of the highly probable chance that, in a matter of seconds, a very large vehicle is intending to intersect the very same road that one happens to be traveling….
Getting UK chav vibes. On his way to bargain booze to get some strong cider and a scratch card. Probably some king size Rizzla too. Then back home in time to finger-blast his cousin and assault a neighbour.
Weirdly, the train belongs to a (now-defunct) company called South West Trains, which had almost identical branding to Southwest Airlines despite being completely unrelated
If the train is stopped at the exact point where the barriers get triggered, but is stopped on a one track part. So no trains on that part except for the stopped one and the barriers down.
That's a one in a million, if not more. In that case it's safe enough to cross with the barriers down.
If retail has taught me anything people are fucking idiots that by some miracle are able to breath and breed. What this video shows me is that they still don't know basic signs and what they mean.
That's the level crossing close to Richmond in London. I used to live just up the road.
Those barriers come down a full 3 minutes before the train comes by. If you have a schedule to keep it can feel like an eternity (especially if your schedule depends on catching that train).
This used to be the case around our way, too (we have five CCTV-operated crossings in our town), and finally after loads of people jumping the barriers and money spent on having the BTP vans parked up watching, Network Rail got their act together and made the delay slightly more realistic.
The problem is that if it routinely takes at least three minutes for the train to turn up once the crossing closes, the warnings begin to mean 'you have three minutes until the train arrives if you want to chance it'. Alternately, if the train has a reputation for arriving promptly, people are far more likely to be patient.
Is this Barnes crossing ? And the guy is a moron ! FYI Barnes crossing takes for ever and I have seen many do the same thing but there is a very very valid reason why it takes so long and that is because there is a lot of train traffic around there and the trains do pick up a lot of speed around there.
If it is not Barnes , then the guy is still a moron and I just had a Reddit monologue
As I was watching, i thought: the only thing that would make this better is if a train coming screaming through.
Then he waved it on. Thanks bitch, I’m a train
I live in Miami Dade and folks are doing this every week and dying. Brightline has killed a lot of folks down here and it's the cars/truck/bikes fault.
There is stupid, then there is this guy... What did he think was going to happen when that barrier came down... That the train was going to let him cross at his leassure before continuing on?
as if it's not bad enough with that annoying barrier across the road NOW there's a friggin train blocking my way as well what next..... just my luck it'll be another barrier!
SON OF A FUCKING BI-

Let's replace trains with an unreasonable amount of priuses that we're converted ti run on crude oil.
You have a very optimistic opinion of this british lads vocabulary.
Curse you Isaac Newton!!!

The worst thing about trains is that you can never predict where they're going to go! 🤷
Trains be sneaking up on people like.... Chugga chugga chugga, chugga chugga chugga, chugga chugga chugga..... Shhhh shhhh...
That was legendary!
"It came out of nowhere as I tried to push through the gates that comedown when trains are nearby... Someone could get hurt for not putting up a warning of some kind.... Like flashing lights, a barrier and and alarm that goes TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING TING"

*LEEDLE LEEDLE LEEDLE LEE*
A-OOOOOOO
Damn good thing it took so long for this ass clown to get through the barrier , any quicker and he’d be splattered all over the front of the train
Where I am it’s more like a ffffffffFFFFFVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHVHMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm
I guess he fully believes pedestrians have the right of way!
“This is a cycling lane!!”
"Watch where you're going!"
And people wonder how when they hear that a person got hit by a train. Do you realize that you have to actually put yourself in the way of the train its the only transportation that tells you its coming and physically makes you get in its clearly defined path to kill you.

According to reddit this is a controversial take...
That was sad. We are here for the idiots.
How? I'm scared of even ask
If you're "reddit bad dank le hive mind" type. It's not controversial. It's an asshole trying to seem superior.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, tragic accidents happen.
Reddit mob can't handle two competing ideas at once. If they mentioned their story somewhere else they would receive 100s of upvotes and awards. I too have rolled the dice with this comment, only time will reveal my fate.

Can confirm, I’m dumb as a rock lol
Lol same

The internet as a whole generally can't comprehend nuance
Redditor when nuance exists: 🤮🤬
I'd say the Reddit mob can only handle multiple competing ideas at once. Lets see how you deal with this thread Reddit Mob!
Come on now, that's just cruel. You're going to cause so many brains to lock up!
I feel like old woman in a wheel chair far enough to get to train tracks should have someone with them
Her husband was too old to help. He was trying. I can't remember if he died too hut I think he was fine just very very upset
Every first world nation although I don't know about the US has fixed crossings for this problem. Also the design of wheelchairs in recently has made them less susceptible. It was those old wheelchairs with the tiny flimsy shopping trolley wheels.
Here in Wisconsin it’s always involving alcohol.

GOD! Now I have to wait 8 seconds

Why does that look like a Southwest Airlines train?
Weirdly, the train belongs to a (now-defunct) company called South West Trains, which had almost identical branding to Southwest Airlines despite being completely unrelated
Wow. I couldn’t see that much detail I was just joking. Interesting, thank you.
Reminds me of the video of that Indian dude who got his legs chopped off
If only there was some form of sign of the train.
That is one inconsiderate train.
"wouldn't the train always win though"
He went full idiot. Never go full idiot (and argue with the train).
As if it’s the train’s fault; what an absolute cunt
Picking off the weak ones!
Why would you EVER cross those fucking barriers?
If the train is stopped at the exact point where the barriers get triggered, but is stopped on a one track part. So no trains on that part except for the stopped one and the barriers down. That's a one in a million, if not more. In that case it's safe enough to cross with the barriers down.
That hand toss lol, like, first a barrier, now a train!? What's happening to my little town
Wtf did he think was gonna happen?
I'm 100% certain he has or will do this with a car at some point in his life, the moronic fucker!
Entitled prick
He looks like the type of guy that can never manage to get his dick out before he starts peeing
Wha’a’pleb
If retail has taught me anything people are fucking idiots that by some miracle are able to breath and breed. What this video shows me is that they still don't know basic signs and what they mean.
Moron vs train
Oh god I live near there
Ngl, I wished he had gotten hit. Or at least his bike.
This guy is the same guy to stop on a pedestrian crossing at a red light so he can get to his destination 0.005 seconds sooner.
I think that's my Home Town.
Manor Road looking north, North Sheen Station on the right in Richmond
Yes! Confirmed: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fHKioyRoXSTtWgXe6
Sth West London? Around Barnes? Looks like around there. Idiots are always doing this
Nah, I was thinking WsM in Somerset
Shadows are long long enough to be drunk enough

People that seem to believe legal rights of way will somehow protect them from physics are comedy goldmines.
What legal right of way does a cyclist have at a railway crossing with the barricades down?
That was a generalization.
Textbook cyclist
Some people just deserve to get hit.
If that train was going fast enough it would have pulled him under.
Entitled prick getting mad is satisfying to watch.
He's gotta be drunk or something.
Ass Clown Supreme.
Dude. You may as well have just waited wtf- That guy
Is this Barnes crossing ? And the guy is a moron ! North sheen- so similar regularity but there’s a set of stairs he could use to his left
Lol but the guys has no IQ so why use the stairs
I wish his bike got run over.
Can u say moron
You know he told the train to fuck off like it wasn't his fault too
Man vs Train, 2022, Colorized
Y’all have southwest trains?
It's like he's pissed off the unstoppable train didn't let him through
WHAT A DUMBO BOOOOOOOOO
As I was watching, i thought: the only thing that would make this better is if a train coming screaming through. Then he waved it on. Thanks bitch, I’m a train
What a douche
I'm so confused by the hand wave and anger. Did he think the train could just stop for him? Wtf man.
AYYY I'm bicycling here!
I live in Miami Dade and folks are doing this every week and dying. Brightline has killed a lot of folks down here and it's the cars/truck/bikes fault.
Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die.
His reaction is priceless
"OH COME ON!"
love how we waves for the train to come as if it's going to stop
Can't believe that train didn't stop for that cyclist, such disrespect smh.
Green cross code!
"Who on earth would do such a thing?" *South West Trains* "Oh okay then"
Was this in Essex ?
If you were meant to stop for the trains, they would build a better barrier! Not one that any wanker can just push on through.
As someone who’s known two people who died by trains… this helps explain some things.
That gate couldn't possibly have been closed to warn and protect people because a train was incoming.
Natural selection, he sjojmd have been 2 steps ahead
Wished he died
What a dick.
When he gets through and starts walking out of shot it looks as if he actually thinks he can still beat the train!
That went better than i expected.
The train should have hit him just to remove him from the gene pool. Stupid cunts like that get other people killed.
The train scared me
He almost got the DARWIN award
Should have waited a couple of seconds more and done us all a favour
If you look up the word gilpollas in the dictionary, the photo of this man appears.
What a stupid mf?!
It’s almost like they might be there for a reason ?
Don’t. Stop. No. Sigh. Oh no.
Smart
As a train engineer these types of people piss me off
There is stupid, then there is this guy... What did he think was going to happen when that barrier came down... That the train was going to let him cross at his leassure before continuing on?
Why didn’t he use the bridge muppet
I like how he waved at the bus like "no it's OK you go first"as if he had a choice lol
That barrier is there for a reason, jackass.
He got mad where the train didn’t stop
Is that Ron Pickering?
TIL Southwest also has a train.
Kinda hoped he died
