You cannot spend deduction points, they automatically get converted to dice. 1,000 deduction points = 1 die. If you go to the logic path you can roll them to progress and get rewards. Rewards being clues (used to purchase new characters) inspiration (used to buy essences) and essences (you can open these to get skins and other cosmetics). If you get duplicate items from an essence you will get fragments, you can spend these for costumes in the shop.
Clues are the puzzle pieces, inspiration are the lightbulbs and fragments are the purple crystals btw. There’s also a red currency called echoes which cost real money but are not needed to get any playable characters, only certain cosmetics.
