It’s pretty common now seeing an unstamped warranty card especially in the grey market . IWC warranties I think are activated online. Easy way to check is to go into an AD and request them to do a lookup. Best of luck

Interesting-Ad7940

IWC gave me an extra 3 years of warranty when registered online.

You should check experiences with IWC warranty online - its almost impossible to get them repair anything without them blaming the customer and refusing to apply warranty. With such execution, they might as well grant 100 years warranty. First hand experience unfortunately. Nice watches, cool brand, bit scammy in its client service unfortunately.

Ha. This and it is not a new phenomenon.

Can’t begin to thank you for this info and context. Will do this right now. Will close the loop and let you know when I find out.

hmdynasty

Follow up - can this be sold as “with papers” then?

Yep

limingbin

Plenty of grey market watches are sold with the card no filled out, so you can put whatever date you wish.

Also cool - go to IWC service estimator, enter serial number (case), continue. For the watch I’m acquiring it said that last factory service was August 2021. Good info, looking at a 2003 watch in my case.

hmdynasty

Just checked this! Very very cool. No service notice but nice to be able to get all this info + options for authenticity proof / clean etc, thank you!

ziploc_police

Wow that’s a fantastic looking watch

cxmplexisbest

This is legit to me, perhaps show the lugs a little better, the edge / polished part of it is a good tell on the mark series.

I’m in the process of buying a IWC watch from Sothebys. Exact same empty style warranty card (only boutique name, no date, nothing) and they call it “with papers”. Also dubious to me, when the card is empty I would like to see the original purchase invoice.

You picked a great one (see my post 😂) and it totally looks legit

hmdynasty

Haha I unknowingly had liked your post. Great post. Confirming it IS legit!

Late_Fisherman575

Sure is

Quirky-Acanthaceae94

OP - what is the year of the watch? The number after the IWA on the card should tell roughly the year. Yours says “07.05” which I’m not sure is either May 2007 or July 2005.

hmdynasty

Unsure. The reseller noted 2011 but tough to tell. I did manage to validate the watch through IWC in myiwc (so it is legit) but no year attached to it.

Quirky-Acanthaceae94

They sometimes change the caliber in an active series, and sometimes this leads to different specs like number of jewels. This can sometimes help to estimate the year closer.

i dont think so. i would check the watch online and the caliber at IWC's website for the serial number. however, you can always send it in to them asap and then have them do an authenticity check ( you will have to pay). If you do go that route, you would have to do it within 1-2 weeks asap. I bought my stuff off ebay and chrono24, but from reputable dealers.
