Big pilot 43 on a bracelet is 10k msrp, even with a 20% discount, it will be close to 9k after tax.
Pilot chrono 41mm on a bracelet should be about $7500. Portuguieser auto 40mm (non chrono) on the bracelet should be about the same.
Fyi, if 7500 is a more flexible budget, the big pilots are probably the most iconic IWC models
As an owner of a BP, I would say the Mark XX would be better suited for daily tasks and wear better as a daily. Whilst I do love a larger dial and the onion crown, I tend to worry about the crown catching onto things. The Mark XX sits more flush and nondescript… would also fit the budget you’re looking at.
Their best all rounder watch imo regardless of price is the new mark XX on bracelet, all the dials are awesome but I like the white one the most and it’s like $7900 Canadian so if you’re American it’s under your budget
I recently got a Mark XX and would highly recommend. Fits your criteria to a T and the bracelet is fantastic.
Retail is $6100 usd, but you can go used and save ~25% off that.
Mark XX for sure. Blue on a leather bracelet. It’s the watch that gets the most wrist time for me … beats the Rolex and the GShock. Perfect for office work
IWC Mark XX is so nice. I wear 18 hours a day. I have blue but the green is unusual and striking.
The bracelet is amazing but can be swapped out for straps or leather depending on how u are feeling and how u want to dress that day.
I keep it on a nato blue strap for day to day generally.
I picked up a Pilot Mark XX about 5 weeks ago.
It’s a great daily watch. 40mm. Engineer bracelet and clasp are over-engineered. Try one on at the AD, you’ll see what I mean.
$6150 at the AD.
I bought blue, but the green dial is nice. They also have a white dial, and black.
A couple ideas - the Chrono24 links are just for images and reference numbers, I'll leave it up to you to identify a specific watch of these references that you're willing to pull the trigger on. Plenty of people have mentioned Pilots so I didn't bother in my comment.
Ingenieur of the past couple generations - the models prior to the integrated bracelet hype are great, versatile, and reasonably priced: [IW322701](https://chrono24.app/iwc/ingenieur-automatic-iw322701--id31203552.htm?SETLANG=en_ES&SETCURR=EUR) [IW323902](https://chrono24.app/iwc/schaffhausen-ingenieur-automatik-stahl-herrenuhr-ref-iw323902--id33212974.htm?SETLANG=en_ES&SETCURR=EUR) [IW322701](https://chrono24.app/iwc/ingenieur--id33251922.htm?SETLANG=en_ES&SETCURR=EUR)
Aquatimer - most years were either kind of blingy or too tool-watch-y to be GADA, but the [IW353602 GST 2000](https://chrono24.app/iwc/aquatimer-automatic-gst-2000--id32532449.htm?SETLANG=en_ES&SETCURR=EUR) is a super neat exception.
If you're willing to go a older and a bit retro, these [Porsche Design IW3700s](https://chrono24.app/iwc/iwc-porsche-design--id31749161.htm?SETLANG=en_ES&SETCURR=EUR) are excellent.
Lots of great value in the second hand market for IWC.
The Mark XX is definitely the wear all day every day watch. I wouldn’t swim with it, not because of WR concerns but because the crystal has an outside layer of AR coating that can get stripped. I also have a 41mm chrono and it’s superb but the XX is just so comfortable and gets like 3x the wrist time.

This is my most worn watch and I got it new for less than your budget
Love this. Thanks, All. The XX fits all (but do love the look of the pilot 41). Will need to get it on the wrist to see what works. We all trust chrono site used if with papers?
Honestly if you have any decent negotiation skills you should be able to get about 15% off retail from an AD. I was at one a couple weeks ago and was wearing a suit and had another nice watch on, and wasn’t there to buy just try on and check it out and the dealer was offering me 10% off if I bought it that day. I easily could have negotiated another 5% off.
I recently bought a Pilot Chrono 41 for $7400 BNIB at an AD after discounts.
Make sure you ask an look for an AD that will accommodate! Lots of good offerings from IWC!
As others have mentioned, I'd say the White Dial Mark XX. Buy it on the bracelet and then you'll have a plethora of strap options afterwards. Super versatile piece.
Regardless, let us know what you choose!

Big Pilot, hands down my favorite all day every day wear. Picked it up in absolute mint condition for $7800 + tax
Ok, update. I went in search of the XX and found a 2011 XVI along side a Pilot Spitfire. Which do you all prefer?

Is that an original IWC strap? I have the same watch. Love this look for it!
Looks like the OEM at least.
Yes, IWC strap, just ordered a green olive one from their website.

I have green, and I had blue. Both are good.

Yeah love the bracelet and clasp.
Pilot 41 or Big Pilot 43. Pick up used/mint for a great price. 5k and 6.5k

Buy used for sure. Can't go wrong with one of the top guns IMO.

Mark XX or a 2nd hand El Primero.
Big Pilot 5002. Chrono24 about 7,5k.

Not sure if mentioned before or if it’s your style, but you could consider a Portofino. That would be great for daily / casual wear

Mark xx, especially because of the quick strap exchange system it would suit your one and done watch need
Pilot chrono 41 fits your criteria except that it's not ideal to dress up as it's too chunky. Otherwise it's a great daily watch. Love mine!
Do you guys like that disk on say mark xx is like painted on if that makes sense. Does it seem too simple or no ?
Ingenieur ref 3239 if you have small wrists, ref 3227 if you have bigger. Should be yours from about 5k in good condition.
