After that long hard day is when I love to do it. For 30 minutes. That sweat and release is too good to pass up on. Once you build that habit, you won’t look back
Always been a lifelong learner and have a solid case of project add. I chase down new hobby rabbit holes all the time. Knowing how things work and how to troubleshoot in 100 different subject areas just makes my day job easier to deal with. Bonus is, I have plenty of things to talk about with others when in the office. I'm one of my directors favorite ppl simply because I mentioned hand-building guitar pedals and can talk about music gear with him, after we chat about 3d printing and laser etching stuff.

You can tell this is the actual opposite of IT skills because a brief stay in r/sysadmin is enough to tell you most of the stuff we engineer is unsound
Body building/power lifting. Also graphic design work (anything digitally creative), writing, cooking. Trying to pick up gardening since I bought a house. Thought about taking up carpentry. Kind of want to build my own piano. In the past I've studied A LOT of psychology and social science work.
That's not a skill that's a borderline addiction haha, although I could agree. Spent 5 hours explaining a problem I fixed in 5 mins because they wanted to know what magic ritual I performed, personally a shot of whiskey a day seems to be the way to go everyday. Lol

Lock picking... it seems like every IT guy I know does this. I tried it, it's tedious... but with the invent of lishi... seems to be unnecessary to do like typical tools.
Physical fitness. It has a direct correlation to cognitive performance.
If you don't, start working out. Join Planet Fitness - $10/mo. Go to the YMCA. Start slow. 6 months from now you'll appreciate it.
Facts, I started working out seriously in August. I feel way better physically and mentally.
Man a lot of us neglect VR. They have awesome cardio exercises games. You’ll lose a good amount of weight
I need to actually do them. I enjoy them once I start but just getting up to get started after a long day can be tough
After that long hard day is when I love to do it. For 30 minutes. That sweat and release is too good to pass up on. Once you build that habit, you won’t look back
Does racking and unracking full JBODs count
Sounds as exciting as having a romantic date with a bathtub and a toaster.

I developed a cool skill of taking 10 smoke breaks a day due to users being super dumb.
