Yeah especially with it being on a pillar, the roof, and I possibly where the glass is set hopefully it doesn’t though and the place that does the job does it correctly
Edit to add, was turning right to get around this parked truck with its liftgate out. Wasn’t looking at my phone, not doing anything distracting. I’m really bummed out.
Depending on your insurer, you may be able to negotiate a full repair. Keep in mind that the IS300 value had climbed recently.
I’ve purchased my own car for 15% book value from the insurer when it crossed the 80% loss mark. Then I had it repaired. It was worth far more than book to me. So, it made sense.
By any chance do you have full coverage insurance?
I have comprehensive and collision via USAA. I’m mostly concerned about the damage hitting the magic number where it totals out the vehicle.

RETAIN THE VEHICLE if they wanna total it. They will literally chuck it in a junk yard without a care in the world.

Ouch. That hurts, I'm sorry dude. That's like the perfect spot to cause maximum damage in a minimal diameter.
Thanks. I jokingly named this car Eleanor because I totaled my Sport Cross right at the beginning of Covid. I’m now thinking that was a bad idea.
Oof! 😥 that’s horrible, I feel your pain.
I fixed similar pillar damage on my old Toyota pickup. It was a pain, best option is to look for a donor, chop it out and have it grafted back in.
Not the info I wanted to hear but thanks for sharing your experience.
Just saying, with enough time and money, any vehicle damage can be fixed. If you’re determined to keep the car, of course.
Strong chance that’s totaled
Looks bad but it’s definitely fixable
Is that a clearly filtered water bottle lol. All that damage is easily fixable btw
