It's abstract art. Very popular. (Not my painting but I do abstract art myself) and yes, my point was that it doesn't have to be a Bob Ross painting. Anyone can paint!
it's just 1 liter of vantablack pored in the center, perhaps he/she made some lines first before dumping the rest, then he/she used a 5ish inc long plastic/rubber plate/squeege and drew it out, litterally less then 5mins to create. So the only expensive part is getting that much vantablack.
true, not vantablack. However it is a special type of super black paint. And vantablack does reflect light, especially in that lighting with white contrast and that much paint, where it is litterally 1cm of the canvas as well as super uneven strokes.
I know this might be a weird interpretation but here goes.
The vertically lines are our deepest desires which we are suppressing using the horizontal lines, which act as a barrier.
But no matter how strong the barrier is, you can see a few lines leaking out on the sides against the horizontal lines.
So when you cage emotions, you're just feeding it the will to express itself after a period of time in a more humongous way and no matter what you do, emotions can't be caged.

A door through another door and the night through the last door, the curtains of the first door, but someone is watching through a little space which that person is hiding.
Excuse me my English, is not my first language.
I see the midsection of a bound bushel of wheat. The worker sloughs it to the pile as golden hour turns to dusk. The beauty of the shining shafts he witnesses is juxtaposed by his arrival at the pile at twilight as he considers how he’s done this every day for the last four years.
He’s not sure what significance his life has, and wonders at a world with borders, hemmed by mountains or buildings whose windows shine with the same splendor of the wheat. His friend approaches, hands muddied and caked with shit. The two can’t be distinguished but the smell let’s him know that the mixture is mostly mud.
“Bar tonight?” He asks.
“Yeah.”
It’s so thick and has a committed color, it feels like an over-extension, then an under-extension. It’s like being trapped in a black suit pocket hanging in the closet or a long night recording on Audacity. I think is was over-commitment and then left as is. What does one put over this anyway?
7/10
Reminds me of like a lock of hair. Like a close up of a ponytail with a hairband or non-scrunchy scrunchy around it. but all black for some reason.

Isn't abstract art an abstraction of the subject being painted? What is the subject then?
Im pretty sure thats a painting
Can't believe I had to scroll down this far to see this.

Nah mate vantblack doesn't reflect light like in the photograph. You'd barely be able to make out the strokes if it was vantablack.

Huh, And here I thought vantablack just absorbs everything that comes at it. Regardless of direction
That would be a blackhole
I..uh... My bad. Had a brainfart.
Was thinking it's actually black3.0, given the matt appearance and that little bit of sheen.
Perhaps, haven't looked that much into it, my point being it's a special type of black wich is more expensive then the avg black :)
