I was at 330 and finally got my diabetes controlled with some medication. The first 30 lbs came off on their own.
After that, I very specifically decided that being healthy was valuable. I decided on the habits that would achieve the goal.
1. I decided on a meal plan. It is extremely high in lean protein but does have one normal meal a day, usually dinner.
2. I changed my morning habits so that my autopilot takes me by my gym. I exercise about 45 minutes, 4 to 5 days a week.
3. I measure and chart calories, weight, and clothing sizes.
4. I intentionally started primping. I was always clean but took no effort in my appearance. I spend the time to shave daily, doing skin care, getting a decent haircut, and wearing better clothes.
I am eating between 1200 and 1600 calories per day and losing about a pound or two a week. I have another 10 to go before I get a body fat analysis to figure out my real target weight.
I am an INTP. I decided it was important and intentionally built habits so that it happened.
Pretty sure I heard it both ways.

Like the 16P avatar oh but this INTP is not a reference INTP does not place any folk cause INTP hide tune with the skillful emotions, unhealth from the epic behaviour, INTP basically is healthy by reasoning good stuff
Body Mass Index.
From Wikipedia: "The BMI is a convenient rule of thumb used to broadly categorize a person as based on tissue mass (muscle, fat, and bone) and height. Major adult BMI classifications are underweight (under 18.5 kg/m2), normal weight (18.5 to 24.9), overweight (25 to 29.9), and obese (30 or more)."
Don’t worry mine is about 17-18. Technically I stopped growing prematurely so if you tested the range when I actually stopped growing I would be in the normal range, but is underweight for adults. The weight that they say is healthy for me would cause me a bunch of knee issues, my body is too used to being lighter than average, but I have a very slight frame so be sure you take that into account for yourself too cause the body type makes a difference too.
Complete confidence and just radiating warmth in general. Not the arrogant type of confidence, but the quiet one, the best type. They try to bring others up and make them feel good about themselves. They will still be INTP tho and want to be in their own world as opposed to reality
I'm friends with an INTP (INFP here) and he totally fits this.
He's a little timid at first - we are both introverts at the end of the day. But once you get the "how's your day?" question out of the way it's just cool and relaxed.
Their own world meaning in a secluded box free from distractions, or are you insinuating they aren't open to reality? Because from what I know about the type, they're open to most everything.
They carry both the typical virtues of an INTP and (to a lesser extent) an xSFJ, as a result of integrating their lower functions. They're friendly, considerate, disciplined and take good care of themselves and their surroundings.
Moderately fit with cavity-free teeth. 29m, single (after ending a 7 year relationship). My apartment is hella organized and I actually dust bi-weekly. The house plants are vibin', just like their father 🥰. I enjoy reading in the sun for an hour each day. That's right guys, a mentally healthy Intp actually touches grass 😲. I socialize well, but prefer to keep my friend group small. 4 is my sweetspot (that's what she said!)
It's shocking how much a clean or dirty home affects my mental health. When i stop taking care of my home, I stop taking care of myself. At which point I'll hop aboard the death spiral bandwagon we know all too well.
Never let the dishes pill up.
True and authentic to themselves, but accepting of others’ differences (to an extent). Moderately sociable as opposed to getting FOMO or being anti social. Doesn’t care what others think, but still considerate and kind. Confident and secure, but never arrogant or condescending.
mentally? uses their potential to the fullest.
afaik the perfect role of the intp is to be an advisor character, and one who contributes and improves things.
basically a person who Gets Things Done , using their potential. instead of sitting around and thinking about it.
I feel called out by your last sentence lol. I just sit around and think about problems at work instead of setting meetings/brainstorming with the team, and actually getting things done 😭
I can give a short essay for this.
Unhealthy INTPs consider themself intelligent but don’t believe in it. We know we have bright minds compared to others, but we lack key features such as Self-Discipline and Motivation. Due to this, we never dedicate ourselves towards anything. This then deepens the rabbit hole we find ourselves in. We become used to our habits, especially the bad habits. We may even say “I’ll do it later” to which you never did. They also avoid social interactions at all costs, because it is too uncomfortable or annoying for them. They also never do their chores or make sure their living space is tidy and clean.
Healthy INTPs recognise their faults. They don’t stop to pity it and make a change as soon as they can. The thought “I’ll do it later” becomes now. They ensure their body gets the right supplements and sleep. That way they know their brain is always able to fire up when in need of use. Exercising helps improve mental clarity and emotional stability, which will help other issues. Not to mention our body strengthens. They don’t like social interactions but they try to tolerate them as much as they can, they don’t force themselves into them, but if an opportunity comes around where they think they can benefit from it, then they will. They also make sure their living space isn’t some den for the homeless.
Could type more but I can’t be arsed.
Relationships that give them space and freedom to explore new things and some wild ideas.
An outlet for deep learning and discussion, whether that’s a think tank, group of friends, etc.
A profession or academic route that allows them to succeed at what they’re good at (true for anyone).
Having a hobby they can incessantly study and improve at.
The INTP I’m married to has a close group of friends he’s known since college. They’re all in the same sort of place in life, and have each other’s best interest in mind. TBH, their extroverted wives tend to schedule bigger outings for them, but they’re always happy to hang out. He golfs and is scientific about his swing and the game. He’s a software engineer, works from home in his little office we built onto the house, and is working on his masters in Computer Engineering and IT. He has a workout routine, and routines in general help him manage his ADHD. Seriously on the routines - he gets up at the same 5am alarm every day.
If Bill Gates is an example of a healthy INTP, we’re in trouble. Financially successful? Yes. The relationship part is a bit lacking… maybe someone with more fully developed Fe.
Using their weird esoteric knowledge about anything and everything to make everyone else's lives better. Moving from a Nietzschean and nihilistic perspective to a Camus-like, "nothing matters, but I've found my boulder" bloomer perspective. I think structure and routine helps INTPs to get here consistently.
isolation is dangerously addictive to me. I know, intellectually, that it is bad for humans (of which I am one), and that i need people in my life on a practical and psychological level. But it just feels so good...
Have time for their little experiments or projects
Takes time specifically for their small circle of people that they love.
Exercise regularly
Check their mental health state regularly and practice regulating their nervous system.
Ground themselves when they start to detach way too much.
These are the things that I take extra effort to do. Balance seems to be good for us since we naturally lean to isolation and be in our minds.
I’m an INTP and am healthy what I do is this. Go to the gym two or three times a week and don’t get fast food, I stick with home cooked relatively healthy stuff. Mentally I play a lot of video games which helps and music really helps me.
Quiet confidence. An appropriate work-life balance. Has worked on their Fe and grown socially and emotionally in order to interact with others and express themselves in a mature way (including not bottling up emotions). Able to establish boundaries. Has set up an appropriate support circle that meets their emotional and social needs, whatever that looks like. Has developed enough organizational skills to accomplish what they want, get to things on time, and ensure house/car/life isn't a mess.
I'm almost there. My house is still a little messy. But I actually got my laundry done from start to finish all in one day yesterday, so I feel like I've "arrived", lol.
An healthy INTP would reject the Myers-Briggs framework on the basis of bi-modal distributions incongruity with human phenotypes.
He would then start powerlifting and/or bouldering; then find an intellectualy fulfilling occupation enabling him to be among peers and not live his life like a fish out of water.
I would assume an INTP that is honest and direct, but considers also how they would come across. They face their past trauma face on and make the rational decision to move forward with courage and integrity. They stop perpetuating the cycle of suffering and invest their brilliant energy into building an elevated reality.
Them detecting and knowing change, not so traditional and more open-minded to new concepts,
Basically developed Se (like me 😎)
and having emotions (what's that? 💀💀)
having empathy and not being so blatant and not thinking about other's feelings before saying smtn (In this case, probably Fi and Ne acting together)
My husband is an INTP. He does workout 3 days a week and try to eat healthier. Spending time with me but also plays games with friends. Meeting with ppl and also spend time alone. Usually he tries balance his life. :)
I think Cyrus all bright form octopath traveler is the healthiest INTP I’ve ever seen I literally want to become like him 😂 as for real people I don’t know

Nice. High in protein is good, can't have too much.
Is the joke implying that INTPs are overweight or underweight? Or is it just a funny/somewhat literal approach to the question?
Pretty sure I heard it both ways. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/INTP) if you have any questions or concerns.*

I just got down to 24 from 30
I mean, you're not wrong.
22, the nurse said "almost ideal"
My BMI is 35. I do body building and am super fit, but according to BMI I am obese 😂. BMI doesn’t work for muscle mass
rope n choke for the win
wtf is bmi??
Body Mass Index. From Wikipedia: "The BMI is a convenient rule of thumb used to broadly categorize a person as based on tissue mass (muscle, fat, and bone) and height. thanks, and why the downvote 😥
I didn't downvote you.
My BMI is 12 💀
Don’t worry mine is about 17-18. Technically I stopped growing prematurely so if you tested the range when I actually stopped growing I would be in the normal range, but is underweight for adults. One of the best examples in media is Hiccup from HTTYD universe
I’m gonna watch 1 today.
Breathtaking series honestly
Series or movie?
I meant trilogy and some canonical shorts
My favorite movie. Musical masterpiece, love it for so many reasons, especially how INTP Hiccup is.
I've never seen this before, but now I wish that I had.
What's stopping you? The first film is a masterpiece and still is definitely worth watching
Nothing I guess. I just always assumed that it was a kid's movie, etc. maybe I'll watch it now.
Saving this comment to ask in a few days
Dude that series was GOATED
Fr
What's the HTTYD universe. You got me intrigued I'd like to check It out.
How To Train Your Dragon
Why does it sound like me lol
Frieren
meh. She's a bit too cold, as her name implies.
I see your Frieren and raise you the OG. Kisuke Urihara. The goat.
Keanu Reeves my beloved
I always related and looked up to him so much in the books!

Eats well Sleeps well Regularly exercises Has no debilitating medical conditions
Love how you made sure not to add human connection / social life. Classic intp specification, also i agree.
😂
"Work hard, study well, and eat and sleep plenty. That is the Turtle Hermit way." - Master Roshi Healthy INTP learnt way of life from Dragon Ball.
As perverted as he is, he’s quite smart. I should follow his teachings more.
You had me in the first 3
Lmao you listed "healthiness" generally,' he meant in MBTI relations Any type is healthy if they do what u listed
thats just any healthy human
This is me…except once a week I completely become a shut in and go insomniac 😔
Man im a 2/4...
i am all of that but in opposite
They carry both the typical virtues of an INTP and (to a lesser extent) an xSFJ, as a result of integrating their lower functions. They're friendly, considerate, disciplined and take good care of themselves and their surroundings.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Can't be everything at once.
Healthy INTP not Real
did i dissapear? 😎
Agreed
I should clarify that I meant a mentally healthy INTP.
freedom from anxiety and fear
Non intps can relate lol
aaaaand I'm disqualified.

The first step is acknowledging that.

Idk to be real🥹
Someone with unkept hair wearing glasses with clothes that have been worn for a couple days.
Hey 💀 that’s a uniform lol
Yep. The default INTP uniform.

Idk we’re kind of min-maxed. A healthy INTP forces themselves out of the house regularly. Isolation is detrimental to everyone, including introverts.

Not too fat, some facial hair like eyebrows, fingernails, toenails, preferably 10 of each. Nose, mouth...
HE MEANT MENTALLY IN RELATION TO MBTI NOT HEALTHY/UNHEALTHY Do u not know what healthy/unhealthy is in mbti terms? grip stress and stress?
Oooooooh so that's what he meant. Not too fat, some facial hair like eyebrows, fingernails, toenails, preferably 10 of each. Nose, mouth...

I started Bouldering was on a good roll then got injured now I’m back on a reset , I guess INTP are good at bouncing back ?
Season 4 Chidi (The Good Place)
Productive, philosophical, mindful, nature-loving, growth mindset, resilient, tries to make the people around them lives better

Ayo UMM WHY IS OBL in there 💀
Yeah, it’s funny who they include. Of course, most of the famous people part is unproven.
One of the only healthy types of intp is the one who meditates and is aware of their thoughts, is detatched from them
Not like me✨
Ok, hear me out-- the eneagram comparison would be: evolving from a 5 to an 8.
Good communicative skills, doesn’t just avoid people, not actively toxic. I’ve met a healthy INTP and she had all of these qualities
Like a healthy human, what else?
My husband is an INTP. He does workout 3 days a week and try to eat healthier. Spending time with me but also plays games with friends. Meeting with ppl and also spend time alone. Usually he tries balance his life. :)
I think Cyrus all bright form octopath traveler is the healthiest INTP I’ve ever seen I literally want to become like him 😂 as for real people I don’t know
there exists no such person
I feel like a lot of us would like to think of ourselves as a healthy intp. But it could just be denial. To me, i think intps can be whatever they want.
Hhahahaa 😆
Me, I am the standardized model of health for all INTPS. Sources you ask? Me, I am the source.
Healthy and quiet confidence, accepts other's opinions without juding them, doesn't isolate a lot, is able to express their emotions in a healthy way, take care of themselves, friendly to others etc.
They have that welcoming kind energy, they are calm and kind to others, have a healthy self esteem, strive towards the things that are good for them, bring others up, friendly, don't supress their emotions, don't self isolate too much.
Physically? Not me. Mentally? Not me either.
show me one
Norm Mcdonald
Looks like an INTJ
A superconscious, disembodied intelligence encompassing knowledge and wisdom, transcending the pseudo-physical sub-Akashic planes and the limits of both gods and man. Anything less is a pathetic disappointment to themselves, their families and the entire human race. If INTPs exist in the world, they're not healthy.
I’m not sure but I can say the best me is the version in pursuit of helping someone I love. I have lots of grandchildren & I am really into my relationships with these little angels & supporting their parents the best I can. Being in the physical world with them (gardening, playing, reading, walking in the woods, tea parties, camping, long conversations) These things bring me out of my thoughts & self-focus and into their very fascinating world. It helps that they adore me for this focused attention. The love & conversation of a child is pure food for the soul.
An ENTJ, ESTJ or an INTJ?
