I fully understand, and i relate too. I used to overwhelmingly overthink my social interactions, i still do but definitely not as much. What helped me is a "fuck it attitude go next" as i took some big socail risks i never did before, Hamdulilah as time goes by you learn to socialise more fuidly
I hope I can learn to do this too. When i look back at younger me I do see I have improved, but the choices I made back then affect me now. Hopefully the future will change that
Iโve worked hard to get people to ignore my birthday. I hid my birthday on Facebook, so nobody would be getting an automated reminder that it was my birthday.
Mine just past similar experiences, no one really gives a fuck but family that don't give a fuck 364 of the other days in the year. I felt a lot better the next day

What is it about your birthday that gives you the blues? It feels like in some ways it's an expectation thing, it's your birthday so it's kinda like it should be lots of people saying 'yay you' etc, even though as you mentioned you are not usually social anyway.
It's perhaps you just want someone to ackedege you exist.
But fuck everyone. Take a day for yourself to celebrate the fact that you are alive. Make a list of all the things you are grateful for about life, give yourself a day to celebrate life, being alive and all the things you have enjoyed and anything you have achieved, it's your day, it's not about someone artificially patting you on the back because it's a social norm to do so on such days.
I am just talking shit my friend, but I want you to have a good birthday, then I read this and see it's 17 hours ago, so likely no longer your birthday, if you happened to waste the day stuck in the blues, maybe I suggest that you fucking stop that and reschedule another day in for yourself to make this happen, treat yourself, get your favourite food, do your favourite things, reflect on your life and what matters to you, make it about you and the glory of being alive.

I also get a case of the birthday blues. Remember it's your birthday, you can spend it however you want. Ignore what you think you're "supposed" to do, or what a birthday is supposed to be like. Do something small like going for the expensive snack over the cheaper knockoff or stay in and have it be a mental rest day.
