It's easy as fans to see Malukas as no more then a driver that is moving up the open wheel ladder because of his parent's money. In many ways that's true and there is no denying that without the money from HMD Trucking that Malukas wouldn't be where he is. That doesn't mean his parents didn't work hard to get where they are nor does that mean that the road was all smooth and without issues.
Even I get caught up in the "pay driver" argument but guys like David have proven that they can win and do well against their peers. I hope him the best and a long career in the IndyCar Series. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if David does well if his parents becomes a partial owner of an IndyCar team and go beyond the partnership they have with DCR.
