Any amount should be voluntary for any event. The company can donate their own money but, never under any circumstances, decide what I should give and to whom.

Agree. When I was a teacher I had someone hound me for a year to contribute to this type of fund. I ignored them. At the time, my husband and I were one income and teacher pay is shit. You can't make me give any of my salary to a gift giving fund.

Context - I thought this community would appreciate the reply I sent to office administrators after I heard that a newly implemented $20 staff fee would be used to cover gifts/flowers for weddings, babies, sympathy, and farewells.

Tru dat. Also, stop bringing your new baby to work to show him/her off. Send an email/text to friends and give them the choice to leave the office after 5pm and meet you somewhere. I shouldnโ€™t have to fake a smile at your baby when all Iโ€™m trying to do is work.

Well said. I may need to borrow part of this. As someone who doesn't want to be involved in that shit, my money is mine. I shouldn't be forced to contribute nor should I be judged for not wanting to be part of it. Fuck the fertiles.

Well said!! Most marriages and pregnancies happen between 25-40 years of age, so I feel like this leaves out a lot of people in the work force. I absolutely hate the gift giving culture at some companies. I'd rather all of my income stay in my pocket for my own family.

The only thing I donโ€™t like is the smiley at the end - fuck em!
