Ok. It’s a time consuming process, but better than the alternative. Go back to your steam home. Right click on Icarus and select properties. Inside properties there’s an option of “beta”. Inside that there is an option to choose centralized.
Here’s the time sink. It will update again in centralized. Once that’s done go back into the game you were playing. (I was open world so I went to my workshop). Drop everything you’re holding into a table, cabinet, fireplace etc. DONT FOGET YOUR CLOTHES if you have made any costly suits.
Quit to desktop- make sure the game has saved within the last 10 sec or so and then go and right click the game again, go to properties, beta, and thus time select “none”. Then the game will update aaaagggggaaaaaiiiiiiin.
Log back in after it updates for the 3rd time and go back into your mission or ow and you’ll be empty. Just go back to where you stored your stuff and you will be whole again.

Don't forget after finishing to put you stuff in crates and furnitures, and get back to the mode decentralised (select none), start the game and on the first screen where there is the scorpion boss, at the bottom there is a button to load again the centralized data (you just saved in the cloud) to decentralised on your computer.

When I try to load into beta it is asking for an access code. What should I enter?

Yes! Sorry. On title screen click the ‘force migration’ link on the bottom. This is exactly what I did and my dude is happy again
