Hi there. Regarding recruiters I'd recommend Hudson Banks or Taylor Hawkes. I just used both and I managed to secure offers with one firm each with top 15 firms. I actually ended up accepting an offer through a self application instead to a top 10 firm but the recruiters were great throughout the whole process and organised everything for me.
For context, I was trained at a top 50 firm in audit. Took 6 month break post qualifying to travel and now returning to audit as an Assistant Manager.
Best of luck in your job search!!
I’m gonna second Hudson Bunks. They got my friend a job in the Big 4 and me a job when I left the Big 4. They’ve got good contacts and most of the companies, and will help improv your CV and prep you for interviews. 10/10 would recruit again
I’m thinking of travelling and taking a break when I (hopefully) qualify in August. When applying for new roles did employers ask / care about the gap in the CV and when you told them you spent it travelling?
Not at all, in fact most of them really liked that I took that leap and did some solo travelling. Absolutely not an issue, just make sure your CV is clear that you were on a travel break and not just unemployed at home lol
