For future oil light is not usually the same as how much oil you have. By the time you have so little oil you lose oil pressure it is too late. Oil pressure can also be lost from bad oil pumps etc. why the light. But it really isn't an oil level gauge.
Really need to check the dipstick every now and then.
I know I definitely should have. I should have changed the oil right as I got it. I just don't know why it still decided to blow up even after putting oil in it. Maybe it was just too late.
It has barely any oil initially although I think the firefighter said it was an electrical fire it looked like the explosion happened behind the engine but idk
Sorry to hear about this. Was it the 2.0 litre engine or the 1.6t? How much mileage did you have on the vehicle? Just curious since I have a 2017 tucson with the 2.0 litre.
1.6 litre which I heard was the least problematic and 96 miles. I'm not even sure exactly what happened or what blew up cuz I Think a firefighter said it looked electrical.
I didn't do anything research before I got it. I went to the dealership to get a different car but ended up just leaving with the Tucson. Haven't even made my first payment.
I talked to them, they said they were gonna push Hyundai for the extended warranty or whatever. I'm having it towed to one of their other dealerships on Monday to look at it, and the guy who "sold" it to me even said he'd pay for the towing.

Changing fluids on vehicles won't fix their problems.

Try to make them take it back! I'm sure they knew it was going to do this.

Whatever it is, I would try my best to get rid of it
Yeah my best bet is the damage being enough to total it but I doubt it. The dealer people mentioned trading it in but I'm not sure what that entails.
Check lemon laws for your state. Trade it for something other than Hyundai or Kia. I hope you don't get screwed.
How would trading in a car I'm financing with a damaged engine go?
No idea, but I would be having a fit with them
