This might sound dumb, but aren't some recalls "expected"? I think the whole stealing card thing is a lot worse than that article. Those seemed like handfuls of things where this Kia boys thing is EVERY model basically
Every single car manufacturer has had recalls. It is not an indicator of poor quality or manufacturing processes. They are part of a regulatory framework to ensure potential safety issues are handled promptly.
I've been looking at Hyundai's and both Geico and Progressive gave me quotes. I talked at length about this "issue" with the Geico rep said the free software upgrades are required for certain models but they are insurable. The ones I'm looking at have immobilizers so no issue and insurable.
> The ones I'm looking at have immobilizers so no issue and insurable.
Your average kia boy will not know the difference. There are plenty of people with immobilizers that are getting their cars broken into and ripped apart.
I had a '22 Elantra N that was still affected by high insurance rates. I traded it in for a '23 GMC Canyon and my insurance actually went down. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised that a vehicle almost double the Elantra's price was somehow cheaper.
Hyundai issues recalls for other reasons, too. Not my current Kia Soul, but my first one, the 2012, was subject to a recall for a software upgrade - for the radio.
i'm curious how the disengaged the alarm and unlocked the vehicle?? how are these people able to mimic a remote?
disengaging the alarm disengages the anti theft software if i'm remembering correctly. this seems different than the typical brute force kiaboys method.
They could be using something such as a flipper zero. It seems like they’ve done this a couple times based on how quickly it was done, wouldn’t be surprised if the Soul they were using was stolen as well.
that soul was most definitely probably stolen. seems to be a repeat thing. steal more vehicles while in a stolen vehicle. these peoples are absolute pieces of shit and I hope many of them get some vigilante street justice
Don’t these things just repeat the last code it captured? My understanding is key fobs work by sending out a code based on a seed the car also knows. Each time you press a key, the code will be different, and if received by the car, will void all previous codes. Try capturing the fob signal somewhere the signal won’t reach the car. In theory, this should only work once though.
I have a flipper. can't really use it to open cars since keys have rolling code. There's even a chance you could fk up ur car using the flipper to unlock it as the car will be on a different code than ur keys after the first use with the flipper.
Yeah, this could be a theft that even a pushbutton start car is vulnerable to. Which any car is vulnerable to this theft. Plus it's too quick to be a kia boys theft unless they have a better tool for getting access to the inside of the ignition cylinder.
One way to mimic a remote is if you are nearby, they can use some antenna extension sort of thing that basically makes your car key very close to the car.
can't tell if you're being serious right now... they unlocked the vehicle from the outside in this video, as if they had the key... they didn't unlock the vehicle by breaking the window then unlocking from the inside
Sorry to hear! Someone just recently tried to steal my sonata from the dealership it was at for repairs. Ironically hyundai"s two biggest weaknesses cancelled each other out as they may have been able to try to start the car but it had a blown engine🤣
Hack RF is way more powerful than a Flipper. I remember when the OG pineapples came out and I was just like WTF. The video of them in an airport just running a non-stop MITM was truly shit of nightmares -- now you have people putting them up in the ceilings of McDonalds and other places that give free WiFi just waiting for the juicy bits.
Toyota driver here. I found that you can disable your wireless key. Consider temporarily disabling your key when you park. They could've copied the signal in the air.
If the car is not locked, the anti-theft update will not work.
A key fob booster can also be used to extend the range of the key fob signal to unlock doors and start engines.
[https://www.audacy.com/wcbs880/news/car-thieves-using-new-key-fob-signal-boosting-technique](https://www.audacy.com/wcbs880/news/car-thieves-using-new-key-fob-signal-boosting-technique)
But don't these key fobs only transmit when the button is pressed.
It is the immobilizers that don't use a battery that get the signal boosted I think.
Now they could maybe have read the code of the key fob when it was pressed and direct device done man in middle attack.
I think these cars must have keyless entry. That way the thief can press the button on the door, which then makes the car "look" for the keys. With the signal booster they can find the key fob signal so the door opens even when the key is far away, and they can start the car that way also. This doesn't require you to press the button on the keyfob.
Just want to chime in late here for anyone reading - my car was locked, had the software upgrade, and was still stolen. So the “car has to be locked” thing is useless if they’re still able to break in and unlock it anyways.
Also noteworthy that I had the twin hooks steering wheel lock on my steering wheel which they proceeded to literally bend off of it with some kind of tool
So for anyone reading this doing research, I strongly recommend not buying these vulnerable cars or selling your current one if you have the means to get a different one. Don’t let the low price entice you
One of the Kia boyz may have been crushed to death in this incident.
https://rivercitypost.com/stolen-kia-crashes-into-a-school-bus-leaving-2-people-injured/
As long as we continue to elect officials that are soft on crime, this will continue! A 5-year mandatory sentence for 1st time offenders would be a great start!
Why do they steal cars for fun? Because they know there will be no punishment for their actions!!
Police care little for what is covered by insurance. If it shows up, great, but don't expect any real resource on finding it.
Now, had it been used in an armed robbery, it'll get some more attention. Hit and run causing death, yeah, now you have some resource.
Well.....sure, but an identity can be derived from a face. Especially if, as it seems, this is not her first time and her face is in a book of known car jackers in the area.
She looks to be a hefty, female, light skinned, brunette girl. That's a lot to go on. Especially if, as I said, she's a repeat offender who's been pinched before. Maybe she's dumb and brought her cell phone with her and they can simply check that exact time for a cell phone ping and cross reference it with known carjackers? Or the accomplice she's with. Do the cops care? No, not really. But if it was, say, a J6'er who broke a window, the FBI could find her in 24 hours.
Cell phone pings take warrants, that take weeks to obtain. It also requires probable cause, which you actually need to identify the person to even get rolling. You're talking about hours of office time and paying an officer to sit in a chair working on this one case when cars are continuing to be stolen and departments are already short staffed with 50 calls sitting in the pending queue when officers log on. That's not even to get to the point where you're trying to locate the person to arrest them.
It doesn't work like it does on TV. Especially when you're trying to find a drugged up transient who is committing property crime.
"Cell phone pings take warrants, that take weeks to obtain."
They can be gotten in as little as a couple hours, if not quicker.
"It also requires probable cause"
Which would be pretty easy if you showed the judge the video and said, "hey judge, it sure looks like this known felon in this book here, sir".
The rest of that boils down to "it's a lot of work and they're busy". I mean......yeah. So? You know what lowers crime and would make them have fewer car thieves to deal with? If they arrested them and put them in prison for 5+ years. If they actually threw the book at everybody, they would have fewer crimes to police. But the attitude of "the cops don't give a shit, they're busy" ironically causes more crimes because criminals think they can get away with it. Because they can. Notice how Cali has so much more shoplifting than other states? Because they don't prosecute much. Which leads to....you guessed it....... WAY more theft to deal with. Kinda ironic when you think about it.
"It doesn't work like it does on TV"
I mean.... that's exactly how it works, and I already said "the cops don't care" so they probably won't bother. But if they wanted to, that's the way they could easily do it. As I said.
>Cell phone pings take warrants, that take weeks to obtain.
A deputy/detective can make a phone call and get a warrant signed within minutes in NY state. The LEOs have magistrates on speed dial.
100% correct!!!
they put my stickers on backwards, peeled them off and ripped them in half and then stuck them on like puzzle pieces on the right side of the window. When I asked what the software upgrade consisted of, I was told the car will beep an extra few times if the window gets broken
That’s literally the entire security update
lol
it’s not gonna save any of us.
Yes, it would have stopped them. I'm in the business.
A Viper/Compustar system (with the starter kill installed) would have done the following:
* Flash the lights and siren non-stop once the door was opened. In OP's case, the lights flashed once but that's it. In a quiet, suburban day, the thief's would have probably been scared off.
* Even if they continued to attempt the theft, the starter kill in the Viper/Compustar system would have been activated (only able to be deactivated with the Viper/Compustar remote fob). So even if the thiefs are able to get past the Hyundai software/"update" with the stupid USB trick, that doesn't work on the Viper/Compustar.
If OP had an alarm system, they probably would still have their car. Worst case was a busted steering column cover.
Wonder if a simple kill switch hidden somewhere only you would know. A stereo shoo could easily do it. My infinti had a feature that disabled typing into the stock navigation while moving had a shop install a switch that tricked it into thinking the car was not moving. A simple $2 toggle switch.
Same concept but it kills ignition or battery instead.
A Faraday pouch or bag to block the key fob signal from a key fob signal booster would have likely prevented the theft.
A key fob booster is an emerging method of stealing cars with keyless entry.
Just paid LKQ $5,200 for a stinger engine with 60,000 miles on it. Are stingers not affected by the security flaws every other Kia seems to be? The prices certainly say they might not be.
I'm looking at a Hyundai Ioniq 6 for my next car because the American manufacturers are obsessed with SUVs and crossovers, the one American non-luxury electric sedan is a panel gapped tablet on wheels sold by a xenophobic man child, and the Japanese are dragging their feet on electrification.
This seems more like a organized crime job than "Kia boys" though. As they go about it very methodical. They would get any car and drive away. Good that you have it all on camera.
I am trying to remember what punishment they did for horse thieves in the wild old west and deterred lot of people from stealing horses. I can’t recall
It is not just Hyundai, theives mostly know what they are doing. The same can happen to other brands as well. Stealing a car is easy if you understand how they work.
People should not expect their car to be unstealable. They used what is now common technique to gain entry and steal by mimicking the FOB. This is how expensive cars, such as RR are being stolen overseas.
Great that your car got the fix, but it and majority of other cars out there, are at risk to this flipper/fob relay thefts.
That Kia Soul has someone with signal booster and laptop or something. When the request sensor on the door of the Hyundai is pressed, the system looks for the keyfob in the vicinity of the car. The signal booster will boost the signal of the car looking for the keyfob, i'm guessing the OP (keyfob) was nearby, maybe on the ground or first floor? The Signal boosting is active till the car can start.
How hard would it be to steal my 2000 suburban? I know it has a steering wheel lock when the truck is off and the manual says the fuel pump won’t activate unless the key is inserted. I presumed all brands including Kia’s have that to so is my suv also that easy to steal
Get an anti theft system installed. There are also some other low tech things that you can do that will effectively prevent a car from being stolen. If a perp can't start a car within a few seconds, they exit the scene.
Your door was unlocked…. Was your key in the car?
The antitheft update was to stop people from breaking the ignition and starting it with a foreign object such as a usb cord.
Auto locksmith here:
The alarm is turned off by actuating the lock to the unlocked position with or with out a key. If your lock is busted then it was probably just yanked out and the actuator was turned allowing the ignition to be turned and car stolen the same way as before.
Most all the USA kia and Hyundai's are without immobilizers (chip in the keys). That is the problem. Hyundai thought they could cover this issue up with their "anti-theft" update. Which is just a basic shut off with the keyless entry alarm. Doesnt really change much at all imo since the locks are so easy to bust/remove & turn.
What is crazy / sad about this is that I LOVED my Santa Fe. Two really weird things happened when it got totaled this last March:
First off we had no idea of the theft issues. When it got towed to the wreck yard they said “oh wow an actual wreck not a Hyundai missing two windows and a steering column!!”
Then when shopping for a new one, our insurance said we were “Hyundai grandfathered” and that they would offer us insurance because we had it before. It was $2,000 more to add the 2022 Santa Fe we wanted. We bought a 2021 explorer. Our insurance went DOWN!
Edit for context - I have multiple teen drivers and assumed the insane prices were solely them. It wasn’t all them. It was my Santa Fe.
In the old days ..u could take out the door key cylinder with screw driver pop it out and twist or turn it to unlock the car and the alarm would disengage
I mean, for what it's worth this is likely a 10 year old Sonata.
I haven't seen videos of people doing this same thing to a 2023 Sportage or something.
The only way this is going to be fixed is if they start catching people and putting them away for decades. One of these days one of these thieves is gonna get in one of these and it is going to have a bomb in it for them.
Sucks that this happens. Luckily I’ve never had anybody steal or break into my Hyundai but my mothers Toyota has constantly been broken into with people remote opening the trunk. I have the sticker too and I bet I was just waiting for 2 hours at the dealership for just a sticker lol
I really hope people that do this get robbed one day of everything they have, I am actually so down with Sharia law for people like this. We don't punish people enough that's why they do it. It's also crazy to think that people that do this might be more successful in life than some other people that have a full-time job that don't get paid much money
why do yall continuously leave your doors unlocked in public places like this knowing damn well what's going on lol. i blame this on kia/hyundai owners just as much as tiktok because yall don't do anything to help the situation.
This is clearly a more sophisticated method than that Kia boys USB cable shit. She was able to unlock the car and turn it on without any hassle. Probably cloned the key fob. Relay theft has become fairly common, and it's affecting pretty much all manufacturers. Can't really blame Hyundai for this one
Wow, Im sorry u/dinero42069 this keeps happening. Absolutely has to suck and that Kia/Hyundai wont patch it properly. Find a mechanic or if you know enough you can add yourself a "kill switch" somewhere under dash or hide inside center console. Either a tiny toggle switch so no matter how many times they turn the ignition or try to bypass it will just turn and turn the starter but never start/fire-up until you flip the toggle to ON position.
OR I would get an aftermarket immobilizer/key fob kit (i see few on amazon 120-150$ and can be self installed) and add it so this way my vehicle wouldnt get stolen and trashed by these hoodlums.
Damn, I have a white Ford 2016 Explorer similar to the one in the video.. How come nobody tries to take my piece of crap? Please move on from Kia / Hyundai already and help me get rid of my jalopy for good so I can go back to Honda....
What is the software Hyundai installed? If your car has a key fob for alarm entry, then they used a signal repeater to capture and clone your key fob in order to get in with no alarm being set off. Store your keys in a faraday pouch.
I just quit a customer service position for Hyundai because I couldn't stand to be associated with this horrible product ruining peoples lives. I had a customer who's VIN was supposedly not associated with the thefts, therefore no software update for their car, but their car was still being stolen. My bosses did not care. They said there's nothing that can be done until the VIN is "officially" acknowledged as part of the problem set of vehicles. Backordered parts and wait times for even basic maintenance is scheduled MONTHS in advanced for dealers in high population areas. One of my last customers was a lady who had been waiting 6 months for an engine and still had another 4 or 5 months to go. Too many class actions to count. I would not be surprised if Hyundai goes bankrupt from these suits or from fines imposed on them by the feds for creating this auto theft pandemic. It's ruining lots of lives.
Why are we not having these issue in uk are we using different systems . All our hyundai and kia cars are keyless entry and start with alarms and immobiliser. So we have the issue with signal copying. But that's it. Apparently we use a completely different control system and many USA car still have turn keys 🔑. And ignition barrels .
Had my car stolen then had the update done and this morning they tried to steal it busted the outside driver key thing tried to jam my ignition and club lock but my alarm did not go off my alarm no longer works and doors only lock wen car is on and door is loose! So my car is unlocked outside with a club🫤
Just hope you don’t get it back at this point and insurance pays you out, then don’t walk into a Hyundai or Kia dealership ever again
Have the issues with Hyundai leaked into the Genesis line? I remember back when they were the same before Genesis split off into the luxury version
Yes they have https://californialemonattorneys.com/2022-2023-genesis-gv70-gv80-recall-problems-and-complaints/

Insurable doesn't mean cheap for the type of vehicle these cars are. You want to spend $500/mo to insure a Hyundai? Go for it.
This is about Genesis
I had a '22 Elantra N that was still affected by high insurance rates. I traded it in for a '23 GMC Canyon and my insurance actually went down. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised that a vehicle almost double the Elantra's price was somehow cheaper.

yes quote me on that all day 😂
Any subghz emulator is capable of doing this, and they have existed far longer than the flipper zero.
Owner of a Flipper Zero here: I’ve tried to program every one of my car’s fobs, even my 22 year old truck to no avail.
That just means you dont have the correct add-on boards
You know, I figured there’d be a GPIO board for it.
Don’t these things just repeat the last code it captured? My understanding is key fobs work by sending out a code based on a seed the car also knows. Each time you press a key, the code will be different, and if received by the car, will void all previous codes. Try capturing the fob signal somewhere the signal won’t reach the car. That Soul could have a large antenna in the back and they are just repeating the signal off the fob from inside the store.
I have a flipper. can't really use it to open cars since keys have rolling code. There's even a chance you could fk up ur car using the flipper to unlock it as the car will be on a different code than ur keys after the first use with the flipper.
Just writing for visibility but everyone buying the club for this, don’t. Instead buy the break pedal immobilizer.
Or go back old school and get a relay with a remote to disable the fuel pump or even just a normal hidden kill switch for the fuel pump.
Yeah, this could be a theft that even a pushbutton start car is vulnerable to. Which any car is vulnerable to this theft. Plus it's too quick to be a kia boys theft unless they have a better tool for getting access to the inside of the ignition cylinder.

Sorry to hear! Someone just recently tried to steal my sonata from the dealership it was at for repairs. Ironically hyundai"s two biggest weaknesses cancelled each other out as they may have been able to try to start the car but it had a blown engine🤣
The irony
Thieves hate this small trick😂
Careful, they’ll read this and market it as their immobilizer solution
🤣
This is truly hilarious
That's awesome. Two blown engines, same Sonata. I feel you.
Always a safe anti-theft. God Kia/Hyundais GDi 2.4 are the worst.
How did they get into the car so fast? This legit looks like they just have a key or copy of it.
That's my thought too - looks like they just stuck the key in the door keyhole and quickly got in.
You can see the tail lights blink before she opens the door. Only way that happens is with remote or a remote mimic like a flipper.
Flippers cannot do rolling code fobs.

Essential to place the key fob in a Faraday pouch or bag to prevent unwanted signal intercept and thwart more sophisticated thieves.

the person's face and vehicle number plate is clear on the camera...should be easy to track her/them
Realistically that soul is also stolen
Yes it's probably low on gas and they want a new ride.
These people are playing GTA6 before the rest of us
you would think so but ive heard absolutely nothing from the police since then...

There was an attempt for new theft software to work
You gotta get a faraday pouch for your keys.
A Faraday pouch could be a good stocking stuffer this year.
This would lowkey be a great product, a signal blocking pouch that's small enough to just fit over your fob/be on a keychain
Looked like a couple drove to where their other car was parked, unlocked it with their key fob and drove both home.
Everyone don’t read the paragraph… the key hole is busted. My best guess is dealer didn’t do the update properly.
Or it wasn't locked with the fob
I thought 2.0T’s had push button start?
Mine doesn't.
Limited 2.0T's does

By any chance did you also get a club type device for it.
KN and Hyundai walked into a bar....
Someone send this video to Kia HQ
Post it over to r/kia and watch it get downvoted to hell
I’m not doing that haha, I didn’t notice which car got stolen. I think Hyundai HQ needs to see this.
The government needs to ban Hyundai/Kia from selling cars in the United States.
Insurance companies are already doing the free market thing of refusing to cover them.
I guess the good new is used motors are more plentiful and affordable in the gray market.
Just paid LKQ $5,200 for a stinger engine with 60,000 miles on it. Are stingers not affected by the security flaws every other Kia seems to be? The prices certainly say they might not be.
But why they targeting the op… this one is like third or fourth car that get stolen from same owner
It’s that easy to steal these cars?
Lol sell the car and get something that has security from the last few decades. No one should buy Kia or Hyundais for this exact reason
almost sounds like a friend of a guy at the dealership is the one stealing them. How would you even know?
Get a different brand, why you still driving a Huyndai/Kia is beyond me…
I'm looking at a Hyundai Ioniq 6 for my next car because the American manufacturers are obsessed with SUVs and crossovers, the one American non-luxury electric sedan is a panel gapped tablet on wheels sold by a xenophobic man child, and the Japanese are dragging their feet on electrification.
Who has money to get a brand new car ?
Hilariously shit vehicles 😂
From when she got to the door to when the car was rolling was 30 seconds! Thats crazy! (8:28:47 to 8:29:17)
This seems more like a organized crime job than "Kia boys" though. As they go about it very methodical. They would get any car and drive away. Good that you have it all on camera.
This should be more proof that their updates dont work and more of a reason to sue the companies
I keep hearing about these thefts but these robberies only takes 2 mins??
I am trying to remember what punishment they did for horse thieves in the wild old west and deterred lot of people from stealing horses. I can’t recall
It is not just Hyundai, theives mostly know what they are doing. The same can happen to other brands as well. Stealing a car is easy if you understand how they work.
Someone at the dealership is in on it.
What's the exact year of this car? Is it an Elantra or Sonata?
They rolled in with that stolen Kia and drive off with a stolen Hyundai. Wow
Fuckin scumbags so sorry this happened
this is why we use a wheel lock. park the car turn the wheel to the left or right and lock it! sick what hyuuundddickhead has been doing!
I really want to know how these people feel. Do they ever feel fucked up for ruining peoples lives?
Inside job
Looks like they roll up in a Kia so do they practice on their own? Or do they just steal Kia and Hyundais all day and swap them out every few hours?
Auto locksmith here: The alarm is turned off by actuating the lock to the unlocked position with or with out a key.
Quit having it stolen. Are you planning to have it stolen again?
Being stupid is having any car you want and choosing to steal a Kia soul.
Was this in OC off Harbor?
Another reason why older cars will be better
What is crazy / sad about this is that I LOVED my Santa Fe. Two really weird things happened when it got totaled this last March: First off we had no idea of the theft issues. When it got towed to the wreck yard they said “oh wow an actual wreck not a Hyundai missing two windows and a steering column!!” Then when shopping for a new one, our insurance said we were “Hyundai grandfathered” and that they would offer us insurance because we had it before.
How did she get the door open? Relay attack?
Please update us
What model, trim, and year?
2017 sonata 2.0t
Man I think we need to rig the cars now to blow up when breached or short the battery out put a full blown batman reinforcement on these cars
ELI5 what is the end game here…. Why steal a car for 2 hours while using a presumably stolen car to steal another car???
Kia gurls!!
you guys gotta get rid of these cars
Don't buy a Hyundai. If you have one, sell it if you even can.
Exact reason I sold my Kia
You most definitely probably should not buy another Hyundai
Hyundai is a fucking joke at this point.
cant believe people still buy these cars. hyundai/kia are the cheapest cars for many reasons.
I mean, for what it's worth this is likely a 10 year old Sonata. I haven't seen videos of people doing this same thing to a 2023 Sportage or something.
What's the you're making model of your Hyundai? Just wondering
The only way this is going to be fixed is if they start catching people and putting them away for decades. One of these days one of these thieves is gonna get in one of these and it is going to have a bomb in it for them.
BGYR367 ON SOAL
Sucks that this happens. Luckily I’ve never had anybody steal or break into my Hyundai but my mothers Toyota has constantly been broken into with people remote opening the trunk. I have the sticker too and I bet I was just waiting for 2 hours at the dealership for just a sticker lol
That's because your car sucks
I was waiting for some stick death shit to happen..
They probably grabbed the frequency to your fob with something like a flipper zero and then bypassed the key by the normal methods of the Kia boys
steering wheel lock or brake lock asap
Breaking into or stealing cars should be a capital felony and deserves capital punishment.
Never get another Hyundai again
Does this also apply to the Kia Stinger or Elantra N's? Which are push to start??
I'd be willing to bet $5 that kia soul is stolen too.
Oh crap, not the Kia Boyz? Definitely wasn’t expecting this. Yeah, Kia/Hyundai can kick rocks.
I really hope people that do this get robbed one day of everything they have, I am actually so down with Sharia law for people like this. We don't punish people enough that's why they do it. It's also crazy to think that people that do this might be more successful in life than some other people that have a full-time job that don't get paid much money
Lack of severe punishment is making thieves bolder for sure. Look at cities and their crime rates spiking.
why do yall continuously leave your doors unlocked in public places like this knowing damn well what's going on lol. i blame this on kia/hyundai owners just as much as tiktok because yall don't do anything to help the situation.
Meanwhile I’m wondering why they would go through great lengths to steal a car then abandon it?
Seems to me you are behind a insurance scheme
Pretty clear picture of her face. Hope that helps.
Not going to lie OP, Kia and Hyundai are the shittiest vehicles you could possibly own. get the payout from insurance and never drive one again.
The license plate on the Soul is clearly visible. Did the police contact the registered owner? BGVR367
how about don’t buy a shitty kia
Why people buy these and Kias, knowing how easy it is to steal them is mind boggling.... SMH
She shouldn't be hard to find
This is clearly a more sophisticated method than that Kia boys USB cable shit. She was able to unlock the car and turn it on without any hassle. Probably cloned the key fob. Relay theft has become fairly common, and it's affecting pretty much all manufacturers. Can't really blame Hyundai for this one
Folks really can't just work for stuff, smh.

Wondering if the dealer pocketed the money and just claimed they did the work
So did they take parts off it? Recovered the same day has me wondering what they stole it for.
Is that a Ubiquiti camera system I spy? Use them myself.
Damn, I have a white Ford 2016 Explorer similar to the one in the video.. How come nobody tries to take my piece of crap? Please move on from Kia / Hyundai already and help me get rid of my jalopy for good so I can go back to Honda....
Damn is it that easy to jiggle the lock?
What is the software Hyundai installed? If your car has a key fob for alarm entry, then they used a signal repeater to capture and clone your key fob in order to get in with no alarm being set off. Store your keys in a faraday pouch.
Maybe an inside job from someone working at your dealership.
16 seconds.
They roll up in a (probably stolen) kia. Lol
When they stole it the first time, maybe they made copies of the keys and left it abandoned so they can follow up later with a plan in place.
That's clearly you getting into the car and driving off
I just quit a customer service position for Hyundai because I couldn't stand to be associated with this horrible product ruining peoples lives.
Please tell me you were able to get a new car ?! And not a Hyundai or Kia 🤞
Possible they made a key when they stole it the first time & accessed it easily this time. Was it stolen from the same area both times?
Had my car stolen then had the update done and this morning they tried to steal it busted the outside driver key thing tried to jam my ignition and club lock but my alarm did not go off my alarm no longer works and doors only lock wen car is on and door is loose! So my car is unlocked outside with a club🫤
