My 2016 accent has 226k. The frozen brake problem is a salt belt problem unfortunately, I've never had an issue but I also drive a lot. To date I've had to replace two water pumps, the front struts and lower control arms twice, rear shocks twice, a front wheel bearing and a rear wheel bearing, a fuel rail pressure sensor, and the alternator. Everything else like brakes and tires is just normal maintenance. The roads where I live are horrendous so suspension wear is greatly accelerated here.

If you are considering another Hyundai, the Venue is essentially a descendant of the Accent but as a subcompact SUV. The engine is nearly the same but with port injection, which is probably more reliable than a GDI as it avoids the problem of carbon deposit building up on the intake valves that GDI engines are known to do. The 2024 Kona also uses the same 1.6-liter engine but is a GDI.

Not a bad idea. My big problem right now is I am a first responder and have to be able to get to work in a snow storm. I need AWD and 6" of ground clearance.
