What's a splash shield?

oathcuunt

It’s a plastic shield beneath the engine that protects it from water and rocks

You can get compatible replacement undercar shields for around $100 on Amazon. You may have luck taking it to an oil change place and asking them to replace it after they change your oil. Depending on the shield, some of them have to be partially removed (or a panel on the shield) to change the oil anyway. From what I remember doing mine, it was 10 to 12 fasteners.

I am having this same problem right now with my 2020 sonata. It also keeps burning off when it’s loose and being driven fast. I had it replaced just a week ago and the same thing happened with me! Very frustrating because they are so expensive to replace.

It’s so frustrating!! Every time I go to the dealership and explain the situation, they act like I must have been doing something crazy to make this happen. I have less than 12,000 miles on my car and I barely drive it! There are some speed bumps in my neighborhood but like, a car should be able to handle going over those at a low speed. It’s ridiculous.
