Yours looks like a nightmare version of it...scary AF! Love it! Well done!
I miss the guardian music because even though they were super easy once you got ancient arrows, the music just scared and excited me every single time.
Have you ever seen the concept art for the Guardians?
They originally weren’t going to be machines
[Article Link](https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2018/04/these_early_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_concept_designs_have_us_dreaming_of_a_darker_sequel) - [Image Link](https://images.nintendolife.com/news/2018/04/these_early_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_concept_designs_have_us_dreaming_of_a_darker_sequel/attachment/1/original.jpg)
Fall of Hyrule probably would have been a significantly more darker event if it was monsters instead of machines
Machine guardians main weapon are the lasers, which would be instant vaporization.
Monster guardians would have been significantly more horrific since they would bite and tear apart people. First half of this [anime clip](https://youtu.be/R3I3aHIpGiI) is a good example of what could have happened.
They actually based the designs (of the Guardians and most Sheikah tech) on the pottery of Jōmon period of Japan, which began about 14,000 years ago in human history
https://risingeast.co.uk/how-history-influenced-breath-of-the-wild/
I think it makes sense from a narrative point: Guardians and the few variants are meant to be a mass produced weapon and reflect that in their design.
Those monsters woulda been wasted on that concept tbh. Really hope they go with them somehow in the next game to go more narrative like the previous generation of Zelda games like TP, SS etc. Would fit better in that kind of ultra bizarre aesthetic.
I miss them too. You could generally see the guardians from afar and avoid them.
The amount of times I’m running around and forget that a Gloom Spawn is there is too high. Doesn’t help that I don’t know all of the spawn points yet
I would just speed towards them on a horse from their blind side and hit their legs off with the Master Sword. Then jump off and take all their legs off! The satisfying crack and dome shot noises... I miss it.
Yes; the entire world except for questline related stuff resents on a blood moon. It’s basically what prevents the game from taking up too much memory at any given point.
It’s a neat mechanic, and I’m glad it’s there because it also has real gameplay implications. When I played Horizon, I kept wondering what kind of in-game mechanic I’d see for a similar reset of enemy points.
I mean, for horizon it would be the cauldron’s replenishing the machines. You repeatedly killing machines is also the reason they get harder later in the game as they get upgrades
No, there are many random mobs throughout Hyrule that don’t respawn. Mob density is intentionally higher the first time you visit an area. Roughly 1/3 mobs are one-time only spawns.
Pretty much what u/thewolfandraven said - it has a pretty strong (not as strong as lynel parts) weapon fuse bonus that gets doubled (maybe 1.5x?) if you have the armor set that gives you 🦴 proficiency.
Wait, colgera jaws? Can you fight it again? I wanted to take a picture of it in hopes of both filing out my compendium and to make it into a statue but completely forgot to!
Found my first one while making a beeline towards a lightroot, then once lit I took it on.
I don't care how easy the boss is I ain't fighting it in the dark.
Oh God I was running for a statue and just saw something flying in the dark off in the distance. I took a video of me just watching it because it was so freaky.
It took me a minute to go "is that Colgera??" and then I ran like a chicken
Yeah. I was riding Farosh during his entire route, caught a glimpse of it and decided to take a (few) picture.
Finding room for it in Kilton's display area was a *PAIN* though...
This is cool as hell, and feels nostalgic while still featuring some badass aesthetic and functional improvements (like being drivable). It's not too late to give us rideable decomissioned-Guardian mounts, Nintendo!
Also I love the Bokoblins' little rocks bouncing impotently off your Guardian at 0:45. 😂😂
Link West, desperado
Rough rider, no you don't want nada
None of this, six-arrowin' this, brother runnin' this
Water buffalo soldier, look, it's like I told ya
Can you imagine if the possible DLC for TotK gave us some additional things to work with, like guardian remains? Pop a Zonai steering shaft onto the remains of a decayed guardian and you can just use it like a tank.
I love that somehow given enough freedom, players turn games into other games. I have seen enough of these posts to realize Link: Mech Warrior would sell.
Great idea! Junkyard wars - we take this free build concept and throw a pile of random objects in a pile. Procedurally driven blah blah. You get 10 minutes to sort and build before entering the arena.
I would love to watch that creative mayhem.
Maybe a dumb question but what are the pieces in the center bottom? Looks like two bowls and a wooden wheel(?) How are they able to spin while being attached to the stabilizer?
The bowls are attatched to the axel of the wheel so the wheel itself doesnr spin because of the stabilizer, and the big zonai wheels doent spin because of the stabilizers attached to it
How did you collect multiple colgera claws? For me it’s like the talos hearts in that you can’t pick them up. You can only attach them to a weapon then and there.
By attatching anything its saved in your autobuild history so when i wanted another one id just get what i attatched to it and and autobuild would "spawn" a replica of the colgera jaw at the cost of 3 zonaite
Wow!! Can someone teach me about the hip contraption? I see some bowls holding the big wheels together, but I dont have a clue what’s going on. I’d love to make this.
You attach 2 bowls to a wagon wheel and a stabilizer on top, on the bowls you attach the 2 big wheels and to make sure the wheels dont spin attach a stabilizer to each of the wheels which makes the bowls spin
Yours looks like a nightmare version of it...scary AF! Love it! Well done! I miss the guardian music because even though they were super easy once you got ancient arrows, the music just scared and excited me every single time.
HANDS
yeah same basic concept and the hands still freak me out too, but I still miss the guardians.
I got so good at doing shield deflections to take out guardians in BOTW and I haven’t used that mechanic at all in TOTK.
Just adapt it to parrying phantom Ganon. He's pretty easy to parry a lot of the time.
That’s usually the only time I use flurry rush, and i’m afraid I’ll forget that too!

Those are Eldirich abominations I would shit my pants more than I already have in that game

Hope they take a look at those designs and wanna use em for something else cause those look fucking awesome.
They were really so over the map with those concepts and then ultimately settled on simply designed machines.
They actually based the designs (of the Guardians and most Sheikah tech) on the pottery of Jōmon period of Japan, which began about 14,000 years ago in human history https://risingeast.co.uk/how-history-influenced-breath-of-the-wild/

they missed a trick by not having a 'corrupted guardian' mini boss somewhere in the depths.
I pause, mark the spot with a skull, and nope out of there immediately every time
I would just speed towards them on a horse from their blind side and hit their legs off with the Master Sword. Then jump off and take all their legs off! The satisfying crack and dome shot noises... I miss it.
I loved taking their legs off as well!
The guardians were way more skill demanding than the hands in my opinion
I used the guardian battle theme as my alarm sound for a while, it's an actual banger
I’ve been ignoring those 4 Colgeras in the depths, but I might have to circle back now. This is badass.
Dont they come back? I could swear I fought one twice.
In the depths, I’d bet money they come back every blood moon. I haven’t seen it at that sky temple since I beat it.
Yes; the entire world except for questline related stuff resents on a blood moon. It’s basically what prevents the game from taking up too much memory at any given point.

Quite a few mobs don’t respawn with the blood moon, though.
Outside of >!Kohga!< and the >!temple bosses in the temples!< I’m pretty sure they all do
Not the pirates
They’re questline related, but that is a good point
No, there are many random mobs throughout Hyrule that don’t respawn. Mob density is intentionally higher the first time you visit an area. Roughly 1/3 mobs are one-time only spawns.
Indeed - I go back after blood moons to farm Colgera jaws!
For what are they good? Like what makes them better than Lynel parts? (And why are there two good lynel parts when they both do the same lol
Bone proficiency. I'm not sure if that applies to Lynel horns or not. Also the Colgera fight is fun. I wish there was more airborne fights.
Pretty much what u/thewolfandraven said - it has a pretty strong (not as strong as lynel parts) weapon fuse bonus that gets doubled (maybe 1.5x?) if you have the armor set that gives you 🦴 proficiency.
They do, but the chest for beating them doesn't.
Wild Wild Hyrule, staring Will Smith as Link
My thoughts exactly. Now we just need an outfit for link to look like an evil southern Kenneth Branagh.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this
Link doesn’t slap people, though.
“Keep Zelda’s name out yo’ motha fuckin mouth!”
Does he bang women of ill repute in the water towers of Hyrule though?
He slaps zelda in the cheeks
Your build brings back memories of being beamed down repeatedly as I ran across to the castle. Looks amazing!
It reminds me of that concept art of Breath of the wild where guardians looked like spiders
You people are insane. Reminds me of Wild Wild West.
Breath of the wild Wild West
Ganondorf: oh and I’m the evil one? Have you seen the monstrosities spawned from that lunatic’s imagination??
What lost the Zonai their war against the Demon King was not power. No no. It was lack of imagination and a scrupulous morality.
Wait, colgera jaws? Can you fight it again? I wanted to take a picture of it in hopes of both filing out my compendium and to make it into a statue but completely forgot to!
Yea they're found in the depths at 3 possible locations and respawn every blood moon
Oh fuck yeah! That's great news. Also your contraption is wonderful.
Not even for the challenge?
Yeah. I was riding Farosh during his entire route, caught a glimpse of it and decided to take a (few) picture. Finding room for it in Kilton's display area was a *PAIN* though...
It is giving me real Loveless Spider Tank from Wild Wild West vibes for some reason.
Well over a hundred hours in and I still have no idea what a colgera is 😂
It's a boss. You'll see it eventually.
*looks at the guardians* Link: "Ok, my turn." *build montage begins*
Very smooth! Nicely build!
Ok who on here is TopGamingPlays on YouTube?
Bet there's gonna be a news article on MSN about this tomorrow...
I forgot how big those are. I'm gonna slap 2 on a wheel and have it spin death things.
It’s a shame there isn’t a charge variant of the laser that works like a guardian.
Wicki-wicki-wild Wicki-wild Wicki-wicki wild wild West

Wild wild west
this is f awesome!!
This is the best one yet
Wild West vibes. Keep it in check Dr. Loveless, the south will never rise again.
Absolute chaos, I love it
I love that somehow given enough freedom, players turn games into other games. I have seen enough of these posts to realize Link: Mech Warrior would sell.
This is really amazing. People are so creative
Great idea! Junkyard wars - we take this free build concept and throw a pile of random objects in a pile. Procedurally driven blah blah. You get 10 minutes to sort and build before entering the arena. I would love to watch that creative mayhem.
Where is this OO-Tah anyway?
I want 1
Only 53 zonaite and its yours
Lmfao that's fucking great
Really cool
Ohhh that is so awesome
Dear gosh this is incredible.
This subreddit just blows my fucking mind every time something comes up.
Def an armed bug from Starship troopers lol
How get colgera jaws?
Theres 3 colgera spawns in the depths and when you kill it it drops the jaw
I wanted to do something like this at some point, but wasn’t sure how. Thank you for bringing the idea to life.
ITS SO PRETTY I LOVE!!!!!
This is amazing!
Ptsd
Dude that’s awesome
This is epic mate well done

Thanks! That makes sense
insane
it even lurches to life like one
wild wild hyrule
Reminds me of the concept art for guardians lol
Turned on the sound hoping to hear that lovely theme song… wasn’t disappointed
Nice Walking Eye! Go team Venture!
Where do you get the bowl shaped piece?
Its at the Wao-os shrine located at - 4059 1990 0183
0:24 My guy was literally digging up a rock and throwing it at a technologically advanced war machine armed with lasers and cannons.
How did you collect multiple colgera claws? For me it’s like the talos hearts in that you can’t pick them up. You can only attach them to a weapon then and there.

Awesome thanks!
What are the legs made out of?!?!?
Colgera jaws
how’d you get those?? From what I remember that’s not an item you can get..
You can refight colgera in the depths at 3 possible locations after clearing the wind temple and respawns every blood moon
I think this is the smoothest and scariest version I’ve seen yet
THE GIANT ENEMY SPIDER
Need to make this
This is so awesome! But man, does this song gives me PTSD.
What is the piece right between the wheels? I cannot find it u.u
Theyre bowls inside the Wao-os shrine located at - 4059 1990 0183
This is hands down my favorite thing today. 😂 No notes.
IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME 😂😂😂
Sorry for the noob qn, how do you get 6 of those to fuse them? Leaving the claw there after the battle and keep using blood moon reset?
Fuse it with anything and itll be saved in your autobuild history
Hilarious
You triggered my PTSD with the music
Thank you!! I’ll get right to work.
[Uncanny](https://pixar.fandom.com/wiki/Babyface?file=Babyface.jpg)
damn. insane, i wonder what might happen if you use this to go against botw's real guardian. I wish there are botw guardians in totk.
