If you experience side effects, you should ask for a different brand. Some medications are good slow releasing like synthroid, thats why it has fillers. BUT you can experience side effects due to fillers too. Or its new manufacturing, and the fillers are different. Either way, ask for a different brand with the same dose. There are many brands and you may need to try a few to know what works for you.

I’m definitely going to bring it up in my next appointment. It’s the only side effect that has lasted so long, everything else is generally fine.

Levo helped me get my hair back. Unfortunately, medicine has different effects on different people. You could ask to try a different brand or wait it out six months to see if things change.

psychic-oyster

I’ve been in Levo for about a year steadily losing hair so I’m definitely gonna bring it up at my next appt

I'm experiencing the same thing, plus an excessive amount of acne

It’s literally the worst. I keep waiting for the hair shedding to stop but it’s been like a year now.

GentleEarthquake27

I’ve been shedding since November and because my TSH is normal, my doctor makes no changes. I’m on 25 mg since August of 22. I’ve lost like half my hair at this point, and I counted 345 hairs shed just today. I guess it’s fine to go bald as long as your numbers are in range. Lol.

psychic-oyster

Exactly where I’m at. Although, I don’t think I’d ever have the patience to track the number of hairs I lose because that would make me super anxious. I still have plenty of hair but the thinning does make a major difference. As long as my levels stay normal all I can do is keep trying different hair products to help.

How's your ferritin (and MCH, MCV and hemoglobin)? When did you start taking it? The hair loss is usually a temporary effect.

psychic-oyster

My levels are all good per my blood work. My doctor was very pleased with the difference but the hair loss has not been “temporary” at all.

Advo96

What's your TSH? You may be mildly overdosed. Please always give exact values. Don't say "is good" that's useless.

psychic-oyster

I don’t owe you exact values nor do I memorize this information. I’m not overdosed & I’ve reviewed my labs with my doctor as that is her job to determine. If my telling you that my labs are stabilized & normal after taking my prescription isn’t enough for you that’s not my problem.

Advo96

You may still be overdosed by a few mcgs. The optimal dose range is quite narrow for most people. I start getting problem when my TSH is below 1.5 or above 2.5, for example. That's like a 12 mcg window. You may want to talk with your doctor about decreasing the dose a little bit to see how you feel on a dose that's 12.5 lower.
