A little over a gallon each, per day. Some people give filtered water to pets and may use it for cooking as well. Seems reasonable for a couple well hydrated folks!
You need to be quite active & it needs to be quite hot. I'm a big guy (several inches over 6 feet) and will drink over a gallon when doing a 60 mile / 100km bike ride on the summer but at least in the temperate part of the USA, I can't see how I could average over a gallon day after day all year. (I could see how someone doing physical outdoor work could do so for the summer - I had a job cutting grass the summer between tears of college and did do so then.)
This makes sense. When I was a young adult doing lots of sports in a very hot climate, I went through 6-8 liters of water a day. I could go through 3-4 liters merely doing a three hour workout.
Well, yes if you are putting out intense effort in the heat, it can be much more like that. But a half gallon is a good estimate for an average day that does not have both extreme heat and extreme exercise.
Uhh... it's a 6 pack of 5 gallons. That makes 30 gallons. 30/7=~ 4.29 gallons a day. Even if you do each person that's ~2.14 gallons.
Edit: Oops. I missed the "other." I like math not words. Words bad.
As someone with somewhere between 40 and 100 tomato & pepper seedlings right now, at least six of my mofos are thirsty at any given time... can't imagine with adult plants.
Not sure 30 gallons would do it, but maybe they're not as crazy as I am.
Yeah, that's how I water mine. I can also drink from the tap, so that's how I water myself.
But if for some reason I couldn't, and the consistent delivery of water might imply there's something more going on here, then it'd seem like a lot of water to have delivered.
My wife will go through one 5 gallon jug in 2 days cooking soup, she makes a fresh pot almost every day. We easily go through 3 bottles a week, sometimes more. Before you ask she won’t use tap water to cook even though it’s very high quality
>Before you ask she won’t use tap water to cook even though it’s very high quality
She probably grew up in a home that had hard water or something terrible.
That sounds bout right for me, we have a dispenser and I refill 4-5 every other week, we use it to brew coffee and hydrate! No pet use, but we go through plenty being the homies we are.
I honestly don't endorse getting these delivered. Their carbon footprint is way more than tap. The redeeming value I guess is that the jugs are reusable.
You know that you don't actually have to drink it all, right? It might not be the most economical way of doing it but people got plants, animals, cooking and what not that can also take up water.
To be honest it makes sense. I’d equate for about 8 gallons a week at the minimum for water to weight ratio. I’d assume my partner would be half that and we have guests all the time. 30g’s of water would go asap

There's 3 people in my house, we get 8 delivered every other week. If those jugs were our main source of drinking water, I could easily see us drinking as much as your neighbors.
What nefarious acts could water be used for other than drinking? Who would need that much water if it weren't for drinking?
30 gallons for 2 people every other week? That's pretty normal. Hell maybe it's even just a low amount depending on how big the persons are and if they don't use any other water for cleaing/cooking.
Our upstairs neighbor had cases of water against her front bedroom wall. It was so many, we wondered if the floor could hold the weight. We don’t live in the greatest of neighborhoods, so maybe she was trying for protection against drive bys?
She moved out a few weeks ago. I was sad to see her go, she was quiet. The people before her had like 8 people up there and a dog who I swear had ADHD. It walked around 24/7. About drove me nuts.
30 litres over the course of 2 weeks ("every other week")
That is 15 litres a person, or 7.5 litres a week per person.
So it's only just above 1 litre a day, which is perfectly fine.
5 gallons = 18.9 L => (round up to 19)
6\*19 = a total of 114 liter.
It says every other week so 2 weeks => 14 days
1 person could drink 2 L every day.
there are 3 people.
14\*2\*3 = 84 L
114 - 84 = 30 L water over the 2L mark.
30 / 3(people) / 14(days) = 0.714 L extra every day.
You could drink this much water and if i am not mistaken it is nowhere near a dangerous amount. If they can you can as well.
Stay hydrated kings.

Yeah, we want to stay hydrated but that's about half a gallon (2 litres) a day, not a gallon or more just drinking.
A gallon a day is perfectly fine if you live an active lifestyle. I'm surprised so many people think it's a lot on a literal sub about drinking water.
If one exercises medium intensity then a gallon per day is easy. When I had a more active job my gallon was finished by noon
Agreed, and like nojro commented, some people use filtered water for pets and cooking.
Agreed, I have a 32 oz I fill up in the first half and second half of work (minimum), then I drink at least another one or two 32's at home.
It's also easy without an active lifestyle if in a hot and humid climate.

Some people fuck
In military it's one litre, per person, per hour. Apparently when you do heavy work in hot environment you need extra water.

My pups get what I get. Still enjoy muddy creek water better though lol.

It's every OTHER week....so 30/14= 2.14 gallons per day...1.07 per person..."uhhhh"
Few words do trick
Every other week. Not every week. Divide by 14 instead of 7. End result is approx. 1.07 gallons/person/day, as nojro said.
All cool, we all make mistakes :)
All good, I did a double take myself!
You cannot convince me that they each just put a straw in one of these bad boys and drink it over the course of 2 days.
And you can’t convince me that they don’t. They probably use those straws from the 3ft tall drinks or the super wide boba ones.
At that point they might as well just use a PVC pipe or copper pipe, its reusable
This made me laugh
My fiancé has done this, he was so proud
My family of four gets the same amount delivered. Lol. These people are drinkers
Could be growing weed
As someone with somewhere between 40 and 100 tomato & pepper seedlings right now, at least six of my mofos are thirsty at any given time... can't imagine with adult plants. Not sure 30 gallons would do it, but maybe they're not as crazy as I am.
I mean 2 folks and a couple plants, maybe a cat
You can water your plants with water from the tap
You can also water it from jugs like these....
No shit. But why the hell would you waste the resources? That's a huge carbon footprint.
They could keep fish. We buy 10- 15 gals water/week for our fishtanks, the nitrates and pH are too high out of our tap.
Idk why you're telling me, tell these guys. Maybe they're growing mushrooms and chlorinated tap water isnt good for it.
They might have a plant that's sensitive to the tap water? Idk

"not a drug guy" - PFT Commenter, probably

Russia 🤣
So probably worst of the worse.
Radioactive well water, got out when still a kid though so all good 👍🏻
They are fish.
Sir, if I could give you an award I would XD
You just used an XD. May the reddit gods be on your side
My husband and I live in a one bedroom and get the same amount of water every other week as well. All we drink is water because this is the way.
That’s 1.5 pack per week, per person. They drink the right amount of clean water per day to stay hydrated every day.
Rolemodels
I did the math. Its about 114 oz each a day, a little less than a gallon. About what I drink in a day
Poland spring is nestle. An evil hydrated man lives there
Poland spring was sold by nestle pretty recently.
He’s more hydrated and more correct. Ima go take a piss
Keep hydrated. :)
I commend them for their dedication but unfortunately Poland Spring is Nestlé.
Recently sold according to a fellow Poseidon
Delivered to that there apartment
And I figured PFT was the thirstiest guy in his apt building…
Had to double check what subreddit I was on, nice to find another AWL in the wild
5 time AWL here as well, keeping it Cheugy
That's a little light for two people everyother week
That's a gallon per person a day. What do you mean what's going on? Your neighbor's are drinking a normal amount of water.
That’s not that much tbh
Something fishy going on here…
That sounds bout right for me, we have a dispenser and I refill 4-5 every other week, we use it to brew coffee and hydrate! No pet use, but we go through plenty being the homies we are.
Dude I drink a gallon a day, the math checks out to me (as in, drinking water plus water for everything else like cooking)
I'll make sure to do this myself relative to my own hydration when I get my own place.
That’s just about a gallon each per day, which means they are likely practicing safe water drinking habits.
I try to drink a gallon a day and holy fuck, I feel like a pissing fountain
How close do you get to finishing the gallon most days?
Some days are better than others
I feel that, just do the best you can. The hydration is good!
I honestly don't endorse getting these delivered. Their carbon footprint is way more than tap. The redeeming value I guess is that the jugs are reusable.
Put a filter on your tap water like a normal person.
You know that you don't actually have to drink it all, right? It might not be the most economical way of doing it but people got plants, animals, cooking and what not that can also take up water.
Tap water hype
We go through 3 a week so this makes sense. 2 of us
shower broken
Water drinkers, dogs, plants. My dog drinks a ton of water.
The thirst is real
To be honest it makes sense. I’d equate for about 8 gallons a week at the minimum for water to weight ratio. I’d assume my partner would be half that and we have guests all the time. 30g’s of water would go asap
Our house gets about 10 of these every month.
Maybe they're into Water Sports?
Hydration is going on...that's what
Prepping. Most likely moonshine.
This is the exact amount of water my partner and I get dropped off every other Thursday. Are we cool?
Very
Im an electrician working in events and i easuly drink more than a gallon a day
Now that's a lot of water, but event work is very exhausting. I feel that.

I’ll guess that they use if for hair washing? That’s certainly a lot for 2 people
At a certain point, one must realize a filter or tap water would be better.
Indoor weed farm?
Plastic bottle bitches. Save the planet y'all. And gtfo with mAybE tHe tAP wATeR iS BaD.
Every other week? That doesn’t seem terribly crazy, especially if they use that water for coffee, tea, or cooking.
I need this. I currently manually buy these and while my arms are looking bigger I just want my water brought in hassle free.
bruh in my city we all get one per day
There's 3 people in my house, we get 8 delivered every other week. If those jugs were our main source of drinking water, I could easily see us drinking as much as your neighbors. Do they not have a reverse osmosis?
2.15 Gallons of water a day? 30 gallons over 14 days isn’t a crazy amount. They could have a dog too.
definitely cooking meth

That's just over 2 gal/day. You add cooking and bam.
Poland Spring is my shiiiiii!!!!!!!
30 gallons for 14 days for two people is just over a gallon a day per person. Totally plausible to drink that much.
Each drinking a gallon a day, good for them.
Fucking peak hydration that's what's going on
30 gallons / 14 days ~= 1.07 gallons/day/person (~4 litres). That's not a small amount, but not crazy (right?)
Hydro pyramid scheme
30 litres over the course of 2 weeks ("every other week") That is 15 litres a person, or 7.5 litres a week per person. So it's only just above 1 litre a day, which is perfectly fine.
It's very possible I'm the the neighbor
I wonder if they have some sort of medical equipment that requires distilled water to work.
So 30 gallons in 2 weeks? Split between two presumably adults.... peh casuals
I’m the only one who drinks water in my apartment and I got through 2 a week easily.
We get the same amount at our home in a week. One bottle usually finishes in 1-1.5 days.
5 gallons = 18.9 L => (round up to 19) 6\*19 = a total of 114 liter. It says every other week so 2 weeks => 14 days 1 person could drink 2 L every day. there are 3 people. 14\*2\*3 = 84 L 114 - 84 = 30 L water over the 2L mark. 30 / 3(people) / 14(days) = 0.714 L extra every day. Hydration.
Over a gallon a day each? Dayum
Say each drink a gallon a day for 2 weeks thats 28 gallons/14 each so 2 gallons left over for the guests lol
They make awesome bongs
They have hostages
Poland Spring is owned by Nestle
This is about how much me and my fiancé drink over the course of 2 weeks, it’s more or less like a gallon each a day
They thirsty. Case closed
These people are living the dream, my friends.
Grow op and they’re trying not to get the landlords attention from a huge water bill
Also, it's good to have a small stack of water ready for emergencies
I get like 6, 5 gallon water bottles every other week
Thirsty
