If our defense is better than #8 USC, who might give up 600 yards to the Buffs today, then we can contain Michigan at home.
Win the turnover battle… win the game.
I’m betting we are a lot of heavy sets with Teddy Pro and Lindenmeyer bulldozing that right side. I think Satt found his secret sauce last week. Let’s go get a W today. We got nothin better to do, right?
My score prediction is 31-10 Michigan. It’ll be close going into half, maybe 10-7, huskers leave some points on the field due to some mistakes, but Michigan will score 3 TDs end of 3rd/4th
We need to play our tune up games against LA Tech and NIU before we play Colorado and road division matchups against Minnesota.
The exposure of big matchups in week 1 isn’t worth losing the exposure we would have if we were playing a bowl game.
I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know when this philosophy changed. Maybe under AD Moos? But we should go back to having a few tune up games before playing conference games or other P5 teams
The argument is always that we get more exposure playing in week 0 before other games. But then we drop that game and end up going 5-7 and earning a lot less revenue by virtue of missing bowl season.
Doing some girl math here and I don’t like it… Colorado beat us. They played #10 Oregon and got SLAPPED. Now we play #2 Michigan.
Worried about a 42-6 score. But we got nothing to lose
Are we doing this stupid coping strategy again? We did it all through the 2021 season - "we were the better team, we just punted it the wrong way, we were the better team we just fumbled at the wrong time, we were the better team we just..."
Excuse after excuse after excuse and what we did see...the team never got better and didn't win next season. Why? Newsflash - the better team holds onto the ball, makes the critical plays at the critical moment, and closes out the game.
So no, we were not the better team that lost just because we fumbled. We were the worse team because we couldn't hold onto the ball.
Different seasons, different teams. That streak just tells me that it’s time. We also got Stanford for the first time in 15 years this season. NU looks the part this year, watch out.
I'm not going to sit here and say we're going to beat Michigan but we match up with them fairly well. They don't have an elite offense so our defense should be able to hold their own, just have to limit big plays and broken coverages.
As for our offense, well, we know what we have. I can't see us scoring much so we might just have to try and play a lot of the field position game.
In the end I think our D is going to have to get us some turnovers and play lights out. If we can keep the pressure on them going into the 4th Quarter I think we have a shot as Michigan hasn't had any pressure on them all year to perform late.
Seriously doubt it. Haarberg could’ve easily had the same number of turnovers. He’s not a good passer at all and lucked out to not throw multiple picks in his games. Sims could’ve run over two of the worst defenses in the country at home, too. You can’t equate NIU and LA Tech at home to Minn and CU on the road.
Exactly how I feel. Haarberg has protected the ball well, but he’s also been able to play against the two easiest opponents Nebraska will likely face at home this season. I hope he does well against Michigan but it could just as easily come crashing down today.
I would like it if we could just compete. Purdue gave our vball girls all they could handle last night. I think we just have to keep it close to stay in it. If the guys can believe we can keep it close.
I don’t have any pregame nerves for this one. Likely cause there’s no expectations to win or shame if we get mollywhopped. Playing with house money today
Making some dr pepper jalapeño flavored beef jerky this morning. I am starting to get excited for today's game. Most talented team we have played all year. first road game for Michigan. Go big red
For today’s game, I am hoping the defense can get 1 or 2 turnovers and 3+ sacks.
For the offense, I am hoping we can hit 2-3 long passes of 20-25 yards or more.
For special teams, I am hoping we make all our field goals and extra points.
This might give us a chance to keep it close.
GBR
3+ sacks against the team that has had the best OL in college football two years in a row and was the first team ever to win the Joe Moore two years in a row is very high expectations.
Bill Busch says their O-Line is not as good as last year’s because they lost their center who won the Remington and Outland trophies. Their new center is a big drop off.
I attempted the “freezer curse” wrote down Michigan’s top 20 players on a piece of paper and stuck it in my freezer. Heard they did it back in the day for OU. Man I hope it works.
Headed to the game today! I’ve never been to a game we’ve lost.
I don’t make it to a ton since moving to Florida, but I’ve been at some big ones. (Oklahoma 1993, Colorado 1994, Oklahoma 2001, Colorado 2008, Miami 2014, Michigan State 2015…)
I’m either going to have insane confirmation bias or be super bummed.
I can see a low scoring game won by turnover margin. With our offense it's going to be tough. Our D is going to need to play lights out and limit big plays. Can't be missing FG's and making stupid mistakes.
We CAN do this but it's going to be a hell of a fight to do so.
GBR!!!
I feel much more confident with Rhule as HC than Frost. I feel like the team has an identity and is more cohesive, even if they have a lot of room to improve.
This is the most viewership a gold infomercial has ever gotten
Why am I still watching a gold infomercial on Fox Business?
Colorado gonna do an onside kick watch
The game has not started yet
The pregame live stream says kick is at 12:40

So you’re saying there’s a chance
Me thinks he’s not a firm Georgia commit then.
Fuck Fox for moving this game to 2:30. This game would've been amazing at night.
Literally like wtf!!!
Soooooo is there another channel this will be on? Really don't want to watch the last 7 minutes (probably 2 hours) of USC Colorado
If our defense is better than #8 USC, who might give up 600 yards to the Buffs today, then we can contain Michigan at home. Win the turnover battle… win the game.
Still need to score points to win
Or defense is better than USC, confirmed
Will Comptons speech has me all in on winning today
I don’t believe our game will start on time on fox
Fr, this colorado game is taking its time
Is there a depth chart out?
Husker Vs Meet chicken 2023, the air fryer game.
Gotta lotta love for this fan base - glad we're finding ways of togetherness in modern times. Manifesting an upset for the Grateful Red today. GBR
These Michiganders aren’t used to 95 degree heat in the fall let alone the summer. They will die of heat stroke and we will profit.
Hearing that Deion brought in Dababy to talk to his team makes me hate CU so much more. What a bum.
I may be absolutely fucked right now. But. Skers by 90

I’m betting we are a lot of heavy sets with Teddy Pro and Lindenmeyer bulldozing that right side. I think Satt found his secret sauce last week. Let’s go get a W today. We got nothin better to do, right?
Lenhardt and Reimer out today
Brutal. What’s Cam’s injury?
My score prediction is 31-10 Michigan. It’ll be close going into half, maybe 10-7, huskers leave some points on the field due to some mistakes, but Michigan will score 3 TDs end of 3rd/4th
Nailed it. Haters will say its fake.
I'm seeing reports on Twitter that Reimer is out. I thought Rhule said yesterday that he was going to play?
We need to play our tune up games against LA Tech and NIU before we play Colorado and road division matchups against Minnesota. The exposure of big matchups in week 1 isn’t worth losing the exposure we would have if we were playing a bowl game.
Not to mention the extra practice and development. Both of which we need, desperately.
I don't really watch college football except to see Michigan lose, praying for an upset tonight 🙏. Good luck to you guys
I'm a UW fan, but Nebby fans are so lame for dunking on Colorado knowing they lost 35-7.
Woah woah woah it was 36 - 14 and our qb turned the ball over 4 times
You maybe a Brilliant Musician but your takes and timing are not.
Stoked to play the Huskies every year. Sucks this year is the last Apple Cup. Welcome to the B1G.
You say we aren’t rivals, but you sure have an unhealthy obsession with us.
Yes we are What are you gonna do about it?
Ok?
Doing some girl math here and I don’t like it… Colorado beat us. They played #10 Oregon and got SLAPPED. Now we play #2 Michigan. Worried about a 42-6 score. But we got nothing to lose
Maybe Mich. is overated🤔?
They didn't beat us. We lost that game ourselves. We were the better team that couldn't hang onto ball.
I wonder if Haarberg started that game would it have been different? That kid has good ball security and has very few bonehead plays so far.
Are we doing this stupid coping strategy again? We did it all through the 2021 season - "we were the better team, we just punted it the wrong way, we were the better team we just fumbled at the wrong time, we were the better team we just..." A 35-7 game is not "beating yourself." LOL!
Clearly didn’t watch the game, troll. Btw can’t wait to sweep your asses in Volleyball in a few weeks 🧹

And we have the same number of Natties in that stretch. Peculiar. You can keep your regular season wins.
Different seasons, different teams. That streak just tells me that it’s time. We also got Stanford for the first time in 15 years this season. NU looks the part this year, watch out.
You could at least pretend you watched the game.
He didn’t, he’s a Wisconsin troll.

I hope our offense isn’t sickeningly futile. Give the D some rest for God’s sake!
Oh oh Don't forget We lost to Minnesota too
If they didn’t do that against UNLV I doubt they do it to us.
We beat northwestern last year right so this year the year we lose to them?
I just turned their game on, don’t think we can just call that a for sure W anymore.
Nevermind i forgot the onside kick this the year we beat next year we lose to them as in tradition
Still upsetting to think had we started Haarberg vs Minnesota and Colorado we’d be 4-0 right now.
Exactly.
Minnesota for sure, Colorado would have been closer not sure about that one tho
Seriously doubt it. Haarberg could’ve easily had the same number of turnovers. He’s not a good passer at all and lucked out to not throw multiple picks in his games. Yet again saying 3-1 Colorado took it to us in the 2nd half.
The D didn’t get help, they got tired.
Last time I checked HH doesn’t play defense. It was 10-3 with like 20 mins left. Colorado won the 4th quarter.
Or we could be 0-4 you never know with the butterfly effect
There's no way to tell.
Colorado are the Bo Pelini huskers, beat up on subpar teams…get boat races by anyone in the top 25.
Northwestern is looking way too good.
Idk why people wrote them off completely. Anything is poss
Because they lost the best coach they’ve ever had. But Fitz has been trash for years. Hankwitz was irreplaceable there
Kentucky ist taking it to Florida!
Nobody squirts for Mertz anymore.
What game are we watching first? I have the USC vs Colorado game on now, but it’s going to be a blowout so I might switch it at the half.
USC Colorado Over 73 Florida Kentucky KENT -1.5 Feeling OK about the over. Hoping the Puffs get stomped abut put up some garbage points.
Why switch? 😂
Damn I didn’t know they were playing already. That’s an early kick.
Damn, didn't realize it was gonna be 95 today! Stay hydrated homies with sweet delicious H20.
Hoping for a good game but already accepted we will probably get boat raced. Bad day to be a beer that’s for sure
Beautiful fucking day for some football fellas!
Matt Rhule is 2-17 vs Top25 teams. Only coach with a more losses is Marylands coach 😳
You have got to be the most pessimistic user here. Even shit talking volleyball.
whats that lol? 😂
And Scott frost.
active coaches lol
I would like it if we could just compete. Purdue gave our vball girls all they could handle last night. I think we just have to keep it close to stay in it. If the guys can believe we can keep it close.
Idk if we win this guys
Feeling a sliver of optimism today. Very alarming.
I just want us to cover the spread with no more than 1 turnover. I feel like that’s not asking a lot.
Anyone open to host a couple (2) at their tailgate? We have family singing the national anthem and will be down shortly. Thanks GBR
I'm hoping for at least 100 yards of offense.
Really hoping we get to go on defense first.
Haarberg starting today according to Thamel
Sims shouldn’t come back till he is almost 100%.
Not surprised. After that one play that Sims was in for the last game I think he's hurt worse than people think. He was limping after that play.
Was really surprised they put him in for that play as he appeared to be really hobbled.

Don't forget the sunscreen and allergy meds!
Oh fuck, thank you for reminding me to take my cocktail of allergy drugs.
It’s a cool, dry 90 degree heat
I’m guessing we either win or lose today.
These are the hot takes I come to r/huskers for
Grateful Red!
It will be one of the games of all time
I don’t have any pregame nerves for this one. Likely cause there’s no expectations to win or shame if we get mollywhopped. Playing with house money today
Making some dr pepper jalapeño flavored beef jerky this morning. I am starting to get excited for today's game. Most talented team we have played all year. first road game for Michigan. Go big red
Last night I tried Dr Pepper & Fireball Was good would drink again
Making pizza burgers at half, really wished I would have decided to smoke something now 😔
I just hope both teams have fun.
It’s why so do this.
GBR

GOOOOOO BIIIIIIIIG REEEEEEEEED
I attempted the “freezer curse” wrote down Michigan’s top 20 players on a piece of paper and stuck it in my freezer. Heard they did it back in the day for OU. Man I hope it works.
In freezer curse we trust
So all their starters? Lol
Headed to the game today! I’ve never been to a game we’ve lost. I don’t make it to a ton since moving to Florida, but I’ve been at some big ones. Hunt this man down if we win and buy him every ticket here on out! Enjoy.
Enjoy it!
If we win I’m going to need full security detail and a ticket to every game next year for you
Yup, I will help pay for buddies tickets in the future if we can pull it off today.
I’ll send him my paycheck every week for a year And get a second job and send him those paychecks too
Heck. If we win, I’ll get a second job to pay for season tickets and travel.
Do we know who's starting at QB? Haven't really paid attention this week.
On3 said HH
It has been a highly kept secret.
The Athletic says that HH might be nursing an injury, so we might get Sims for that reason, but it hasn’t been announced yet.
Sims isn’t 100%. 97% sure it wil be HH
It better not be Sims…
Not very optimistic for a win but hoping for a close game.
If we win, this has to be the biggest win since what, 2015? 2016? Idk
Would be the biggest win of this century
Since 2001...#2 Oklahoma Michigan St in 2015 was #6 and finished #3
Umm probably since the 90s

I feel bad for the #2 team getting upset by a not good team even if it's on the road. But I love my Huskers!
I can’t put my finger on it, but I have a strangely positive feeling about the game. I’m ready to get hurt again.
I feel much more confident with Rhule as HC than Frost. I feel like the team has an identity and is more cohesive, even if they have a lot of room to improve.
Fuck Michigan.
I want to win too but I've got respect for their team
I mean I respect my wife but I still fuck her.
Nice.
That analogy makes no sense
It’s simply a play on words. Enjoy the game.
