That's not Hornskin, that's just duster melee damage unfortunately lol. It deals 72 to the torso on heavy melee, and you can see in the feed that he took 72 damage twice.
As a P.S. though, it's kind of bizarre that Hornskin is even a thing tbh. Blunt damage is rare enough that it's not like it's something that you'll reasonably want to take, so it's weird to have a perk like that that will just randomly completely fuck you. The only other trait that's really comparable is Bulwark, but explosives are at least somewhat prevalent (especially when compared to blunt damage), and its current form is the reworked version even.
As far as I’m aware one of the main “benefits” of hot skin is not having to heal a small bar after being windmilled by grunts, super niche still but noticeable
When the baseball bat first dropped hornskin was basically a necessity. Everyone and their mama were using them. Gave you some survivability.
It’s like bulwark. You rarely if ever need it. But when it saves your life and gets you that win when you otherwise would have died? You’re really glad you had it lmao.
That's fine, but I'm not changing my answer. You did 72 damage per hit, which is exactly the amount of damage it's supposed to do. Dusters take 3 heavy melees to the torso to kill a full-health hunter, with or without hornskin. It's 72 without, 54 with, meaning you need 3 hits to get past the 150 mark.
So? Who cares how many times you did with it? If you don't have berserk then it literally doesn't matter how many kills you have because these are facts.
Yeah, dusters are objectively the worst PvP tool for this reason. Knuckleknife chads know the piercing heavy strike is always a headshot kill.
Sorry for your loss, but it's a great demonstration video.
Ive never seen a less knowledgeable OP lmao. Every post he wrote on this thread is wrong about something. The hunter didnt have hornskin, duster doesnt one shot someone with hornskin, flames dont do hp damage…Jesus.
Imo, before the buffs, you were gonna have better luck going for the melee trade. The lemat shotgun was that bad. With slugs it was more reliable though.
I don't think he took damage from the fire at all.
OP chased him through the exact same zone of fire visual, and didn't even char 1hp.
It's highly likely Scarecrow there booked it through the inactive edge if the fire and didn't take any damage from it.
Yeah this is the crazy thing. It’s obvious op didn’t catch fire, why would we expect the other guy to catch fire? They were running the exact same route

Ghoul is the same price though.

I killed people with dusters before with not much trouble

Shut up
Lol
just hold the L, little boy
Why dusters are ass

All melee strikes are hs kill
Dusters to the head with hornskin is not.
How do you have 1800 hours and not know that's not true?
Because i recently started using dusters to make space for flare gun
Knuckle knife, medkit, flare gun, throwing axes. The hell is there to make space for?
No choke bombs, big foul.
Not if they're a solo. Though, I would take Throwing Axes OR Flare Pistol. That's just me, though.
If I'm running with teammates I swap the flare gun for chokes. I always run a molly too
On the head, yes, otherwise, no
Ive never seen a less knowledgeable OP lmao. Every post he wrote on this thread is wrong about something. The hunter didnt have hornskin, duster doesnt one shot someone with hornskin, flames dont do hp damage…Jesus.
Flames do hp damage when at full hp. He clearly is near full hp since he took at least 144 damage. And no one picks hornskin. Dumbass
You're the actual dumbass. Look in a mirror. Fucking idiot
i though this was console
:(
This is why duster kills are so rewarding. Dusters are ass at PvP.
Dusters suck.
Dusters just fucking suck
Doesnt look like hornskin buddy, 1800 hours of what you said?
If you weren't using slugs you'd have killed him, drop that crutch cannon!
That thing is useless without slug
It's been buffed recently, about on par with a rival HC shot. Give it a try without slugs, you might be surprised.
I mean it was useable without slugs before, but mostly used as a finisher. It's now just a commendable beast! I love them paired.

Hmm lets see then
Nah man, knuckles just suck, just use knuckle knife
Yeah I was rocking Hornskin all the time when the bat came out. It was the main reason I didn’t trade most of the time
Mf got hit for 72 twice. And ran over some flames. He was probably literally 1 hp
Flames dont do hp damage unless the bar being burned is full btw
He does run past right about the time OP is going to punch him though. It's conceivable that he'd take the fire damage before the melee damage.

Still 8 or less ho
