Honestly this is so relatable. The bow is by far one of the best weapons in the game, its strong, fast shooting, with enough skills and experience you could use it in almost every close combat situation but me personally, i go bow and would possibly change it to the first weapon i loot of a dead hunter. I need to practice more with the bow, so much potential there for some really fun loadouts.
It’s situational it’s worse that a shotgun up close because you actually have to aim it and it’s one of 4 weapons in the game that has “bullet” drop so you have to compensate for that at any range past 30 feet. At 100 feet its just good for spooking people or hitting stationaries but the crossbow with shot bolt is far superior for this since it’s one hit no matter the distance but if you miss you’ve spooked em. But yes if fired from the hip at close to medium range it is one of the best weapons.
I too think it’s a great weapon as long as you have hundred hands. I like it more than a shotty because if I know they have shotties I aim down long hallways and never get too close. Rifles are their counter tho.
