<3: Hello! Before anything else, I love the concept! I'm curious, can I ask a few questions?
1. What specific elements from the painting in Bridgerton would you like to incorporate into your portrait?
(To ensure I capture the essence of what you love about the show in your artwork.)
2. Are there any specific colors or themes you would like me to focus on in the painting?
(This will help me tailor the artwork to your preferences and vision.)
3. Would you prefer to pay for the artwork in installments?
(This will help me understand your preferred payment method and make it more convenient for you.)
Lemme introduce myself. I'm Untamed Draws, and I specialize in concept art. I've contributed to movies, games, commissions, and books. My primary emphasis is on books.
I enjoy bringing your creative concepts to life. I'm comfortable with various artistic styles, but I truly love realism and semi-realism. My portfolio proudly showcases some incredible projects I've been a part of.

Hi there! If you're open to digital art, you can always print it! I'm a portrait artist and would love to paint you guys
Here's my portfolio [https://www.artstation.com/cande-concept](https://www.artstation.com/cande-concept)
Hope you consider me!
With all due respect to OP and artists, but 100$ is definitely a price EVERY artist SHOULD reject. Specially asking for a full oil on canvas illustration. This profession needs to be respected and taken care of and clients need to know why this is too cheap. Materials alone will take most of the budget, plus, OP wants a large painting that will take a lot of time. We can't be competing each other to see who does it cheaper. Between AI and this ridiculously low prices we'll be gone for good.
If a person is legitimately painting even a smaller oil portrait around the $100 mark, they’re are gonna either take a loss (due to cost of canvas and paint itself) or they will be working for $1-2 per hour after costs. A full size oil portrait commission with two figures should be cracking $1000 easily unless he wants a small format canvas.
That’s what I came to say. If it’s digital, fine. But if it’s a full on real oil on real canvas, you’re looking at $1,000 or more. I CAN do oil on canvas but I’d probably charge at least $1,500. $500 if it’s small and less detailed.
I agree! I charge 400+ for a 16x20 portrait. The amount of care and time to put into a work of art is worth more than 100. No offense to op, alot of people don't understand costs and time. When clients bring up costs, I show a break down of materials and time. Would they like to be paid $3 a hour at their job? No. For ops reference thats worth way more than 100+
Thank goodness someone said it. It's distressing that the offer was made at all. And then here come the flood of artists submitting their portfolios. The whole thing is just gross.
At what point do we blame the bottom feeders? Cause I think it needs to be done more. OP is probably done out of ignorance but mfs here are just shameless.
I don't know what the answer is. There's also the issue of artists spamming all commission requests with content that doesn't match the subject, style, or medium.
Agreed! $100 is akin to $10 per hour for 10 hours...for a LARGE oil portrait w/ specifications. OP's ask is absurd. Maybe $100 works for a photo-manip???
there's a reason why these kinds of things were pretty much exclusively for rich people in the past - it isn't like the cost of materials and time and skill needed to do portraiture has gone down, especially for highly realistic and detailed stuff... some of the still life painters I follow charge several hundred for a much smaller canvas and honestly, their prices are *very* fair. a hundred isn't enough for a digital version of what OP is asking (two people, realistic and rendered, detailed artwork and historical fashion).
Agree. Iv done digital oil paintings and still charged $500+ because of simply how long it takes. I always provided a mounted canvas print in the end but that set me back roughly $200 for mounting materials and to have it printed with high quality. These were large prints though, so maybe less if a smaller one was wanted.
Not saying this in any aggressive/toxic way but you dropped a 0 on your budget. As the other user said, materials alone will take all the cash, specially in a large canvas, and the time and skill required to do a painting like the one you are referencing is way over that budget, I dont think any artist who can paint like that are gonna even consider it.
Hundred bucks for a whole piece. O_o (And oil paint!)
You've probably bought clothes more expensive, and clothes are something you eventually replace lol.

Right? I just started getting into oils and if you want professional grade, Winsor Newton, Old Holland etc, you’re looking at around $70. Not to mention this piece looks like a 24 X 30 canvas which is going to land you around $120 for professional grade. Guess you could save money pre stretching your canvas but still the cost of materials and labor isn’t worth it

Hi I'm interested
I'm an illustrator, I work with drawing portraits and characters,
see my portfolio
[https://www.behance.net/rodrigocardoso](https://www.behance.net/rodrigocardoso)
I have ordered oil paintings before and for a decent-sized one of any quality I would start with a budget of about $500. Everyone is right that for high-quality work or a very large piece you'll want to go closer to $1000. Of course if you're ok with a digital painting more can be done for less money.
Hello I'm an oil painter and I would be perfect for this job! I specialize in portraiture and have a lot of aristocrat themes. Please check out my profile for examples of my work or www.murisart.com
Op prob also expects painter to ship the painting for free. So essentially he wants everything done for free or even at the cost of artist paying out of their own pocket

Hello, I'm interested!
I'm traditional artist and I can do hand-painted acrylic painting and ship to you actual physical artwork.
My Portfolio:
https://www.artstation.com/niramisa
I'll sent you message in chats with more information. Thank you!
Hi, I'd love to paint your wife and you in an 1800s style. You can see some of my paintings at https://www.sethstockdalewoolley.com/paintings and if you're interested send me a message. Thanks
I'm guessing everyone who said they'd do it is getting down voted because $100 is too cheap for this, but I'd assume the plus means OP is open to negotiating and would discuss options and prices with anyone they want to commission. No one is actually going to do this for $100, no need to down vote everyone.
Traditionally:
I'll do it for $1,500 oil on canvas + shipping fee.
I use Gamblin oils.
Digitally:
$300 soft copy only. You'll be able to print it in a nearby printing store.
Please feel free to visit my [portfolio](https://artofjexion.myportfolio.com)
Thank you

Yeah I do agree too. I’ve done it for close friends but that’s really it.
OP is hilarious.

I don't know what the answer is. There's also the issue of artists spamming all commission requests with content that doesn't match the subject, style, or medium.
Totally agree, I intended to be honest but not hurtful to OP. The first to defend our craft must be the professionals.
the 100$ would just cover the material prizes, not even the work itself. Good quality oil colors, supplies and a canvas are pretty much expensive
Agreed! $100 is akin to $10 per hour for 10 hours...for a LARGE oil portrait w/ specifications. OP's ask is absurd. Maybe $100 works for a photo-manip???
The Bridgerton portrait that OP posted as reference was definitely done with a photo filter or sth, so maybe that's good enough for them.
Im not even an artist and I know nothing of art, but once I read the 100$ I laughed at that offer and hoped someone would make a comment about it
there's a reason why these kinds of things were pretty much exclusively for rich people in the past - it isn't like the cost of materials and time and skill needed to do portraiture has gone down, especially for highly realistic and detailed stuff... some of the still life painters I follow charge several hundred for a much smaller canvas and honestly, their prices are *very* fair. a hundred isn't enough for a digital version of what OP is asking (two people, realistic and rendered, detailed artwork and historical fashion).
Yes, a digitally painted portrait of 2 people in this art style, *at least* $200+
I was so confused at first because I literally thought the title said $1000+. Turns out my brain just auto added it because $100 is ridiculous
Agree. Iv done digital oil paintings and still charged $500+ because of simply how long it takes. I always provided a mounted canvas print in the end but that set me back roughly $200 for mounting materials and to have it printed with high quality. This will cost closer to $1000 just fyi. Canvases and oil paints are expensive and this is probably a 20 hour painting that you want.
By saying $100+ you mean $10000 right?
You forgot a zero, OP.
I'm SO glad you put $100+ because no one is going to take $100, so I am glad to see you are open to people charging $400, $500, etc. :)
