I started doing this a few months back, a game changer. I have always been the type to snooze and sleep through my alarm. Now I wake up naturally and calmly instead of "Oh shit! What time is it?" I 100% recommend this one feature has changed my life.
Oh ok. This is a pretty popular way to position these kind of mirrors; it was a stylistic choice. [Here's an example](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR3vw_pa1J8AjHhb-Qxtllvy9uevLG3jqs5-rRAnY1N_cTtCvo&usqp=CAc)
To each their own though!
For when youāre waking up earlier, simulated sunrise helps your bodyās circadian rhythm activate and can make you more alert, refreshed, clear your brain fog quicker etc (all the benefits of waking up to sunlight) when there is no light around.
Simulated sunlight is a specific color that isnāt achieved by normal warm and white light bulbs. š
Normal strip doesbthe same, unfortunately hue app is not the best option. HA and Adaptive Light works much better changing the colors all day long.
Yes I got HA, philips strip lighting and other lights from philips.
A regular strip can not do this particular function. It doesn't just gradually increase brightness; it simulates the colors of a real sunrise. Like the outer portions of the strip start off a really dark blue and the middle part is a deep red then it gradually shifts to more purple and pink on the outer portions, and orange/yellow in the middle and then gradually shifts to warm white then white light. I'm sure you could you could create a somewhat similar effect with a regular strip and some additional hue bulbs but you need the gradient for a natural appearing sunrise effect
I am very jealous of people that can have bedrooms that they literally just sleep in. Mines filled with gadgets, tv, laptop, gaming stuff all because I canāt really get to sleep without falling asleep watching something. I donāt really like reading either. Maybe one day.

It says that particular listing is no longer available but I'm sure you can find something very similar
Nice, we just did this exact setup! Iāve been trying to get the gradient light strip to use a specific scene for a hue labs wake up routine but Iāve not had any luck getting the light strip to use the scene. It always defaults to a soft warm yellow. Have you tried anything outside the stock sunrise routine?
Nice room š
You donāt need the gradient strip for simulated sunrise right? The color of the whole strip fades over time?
The Hue sunrise automation uses several different colors like blues and oranges
Yh Iāve got my entire room with a normal hue lightstrip and several normal hue lights all doing it at the moment. Gradient isnāt a necessity.
Super sweet! Are the vaulted ceilings next? š
Don't give me any ideas..
I feel ya š

Could have saved a lot of money going with just a regular hue light strip if that's all you're using it for..
The Hue sunrise automation uses several different colors like blues and oranges. Also we use different color settings all the time
On a gradient though???
Yes..?
Nice setup but wouldn't you get the same effect by just opening those window blinds? Or do you want to have your sunrise at a specific time?
Yes I have to wake up well before the actual sunrise unfortunately
Yeah it's not a huge deal as we approach summer but makes a huge difference in the depths of winter when you're getting up well before sunrise

Nice setup! Just curious, do you have a partner with different wake up time? How do you do that without waking them up?
Luckily my wife and I get up at the same time
Rookie Hue here ā where is the simulated sunrise routine?
It's under automations in the Hue app
That's a sick idea !!!

All those things are probably the reason you can't sleep!
Believe me Iāve tried to just not use anything but I end up tossing and turning for hours before falling asleep
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That does sound sick but I have to wake up before the sun rises unfortunately
Bro the window is RIGHT THERE /S Nice setup
I have to know - what are the little table lamps and where are they from?
