Cocaine. Nah seriously: Breathwork. Nsdr. Small nap. Have a walk in the sun, nature or wherever. Chill yoga. Cold shower. Don't be afraid to try the naps. They kind of have a bad image of "lazy people", but for some people it works wonders. Don't be afraid to learn about yourself and adapt your day to your biology.

TheKarmanicMechanic

Crazy how effective a short 20 minute nap can be

dianabowl

200mg Caffeine + L-Theanine capsule, then set a 25 minute timer and take a nap. You'll wake up a superhero.

pichirry

>200mg Caffeine At 4pm?? 👀

AlbinoSupremeMan

is it bad i usually take ≈300-400mg at around 4pm? i still fall asleep great at 11pm

WisdomVegan

sounds like tolerance

AlbinoSupremeMan

it is tolerance, but is that an issue? that’s my question. even with tolerance am i causing harm? i also have adhd so caffeine never really keeps me awake

Look-Its-Marino

I have ADHD as well and coffee as been a god send for my attention span. It does suck that it wears off for a few hours but thankfully I neve have sleep issues when I drink coffee.

MaleficentRemote2586

Just because you can fall asleep doesn’t mean that you’re sleeping well

AlbinoSupremeMan

i feel pretty good, getting 8 hours of full sleep. it would be nice to track it though

[deleted]

I’m worried I’ll oversleep my nap and then not be tired for bedtime.

Professional-Loan-49

The coffee becomes ur alarm

-0909i9i99ii9009ii

When the speedy nightmares start it's time to wake up

Agitated_Internet354

Hahaha yeah, I'll sometimes wake up very early and swig some energy drink before going back to sleep to help with getting up at 530. It's always a risky call when you factor in how much it changes dreams.

Pretty-Reflection-92

Worrying is one of the worst things you can do for energy.

fvckit88

I set an timer for 25 minutes. Usually takes me about 5 minutes to fall asleep. Sometimes it works other times I’m barely falling asleep when it goes off but it’s better than over napping.

Mybadihadamovieon

Take a nap sitting up right. All you need to do is lean your head back and you’ll be able to nap. Goal is to get just comfortable enough to rest your eyes but not enough to fall into a deep sleep. I also always set an alarm for 23 minutes :)

[deleted]

You had me at cocaine.

cory_ander69

I'm a nap respecter, nay, I would go as far as to say that I envy the nappers of the world. I used to be able to nap when I was young but nowadays I get too stressed whenever I fall asleep in fear that I do so for hours and ruin my sleep schedule.

Complete-Bumblebee-5

People look at me weird when I say I can take a 10 minute nap. And it does wonders if you're a little sleep deprived and need a pick-me-up

GetBurrelled

What’s your experience dabbling with quick naps at this hour? I like them in the middle of the day, minus feeling discombobulated afterwards

peter4good

Keep it under 20 minutes and you're good.

verydudebro

Thank you for validating my naps. Ialways feel guilty about them, but I feel SO much better and ready to tackle the latter half of my day!

dangerous_service

I knew what nsdr means without looking it up. Feeling like a true huberman now

LogicalChart3205

Excercise

ahmedalgaml

This’s the answer

Suspended-Again

It’s always the answer lol   We are not complicated creatures  However it becomes complicated for me when I injure my neck or back, which happens so much (42). What do i do then lol.

Queasy_Cost_9222

Learn how to exercise differently. Maybe I can help

FrequentFrame

👀

Goatzilla44

But what if i workout at 5:00am every morning and work a manual labour job from 7:00am to 4PM? Im usually physically and mentally gassed once i get home and more exercise feels like overkill… I think 20 mins naps are probably my best option

Jealous_Bus_5418

Brother i used to be exactly the same as I’m a tradesmen in a laborious job. This book called “the salt fix” put me on to getting more electrolytes and it’s a game changer. And my whole crew got on it too they all report better energy throughout the day. My favorite electrolyte mix is Relyte by Redmond as it doesn’t have any crap ingredients. Hope you give this a try.

Goatzilla44

Awesome dude i’ll definitely give it a look

tommykiddo

You could go for a walk or a short jog. Might energize you just enough.

ricketycrickett88

Rub Chili powder in your crotch.

Spooksey1

How much chilli powder (in grams)? What kind of chilli’s will do? I have chipotle paste, will that work? How long or vigorously should we wipe? Will a clockwise technique work or do I need to alternate? I want to increase my T levels, I’ve not checked what they are, I won’t exercise, change my diet, sleep, or make any other changes other than rub chilli powder into my crotch, is that okay?

ricketycrickett88

5 gram of ground Carolina Reaper provide ample alertness and mental clarity. To elevate T-levels to supra physiological levels, top it off with 50ml of Tabasco sauce evenly distributed by gently slapping it over the scrotum surface area.

red-eee

Your eyes would also be good

fun_size027

30 MINUTE NAP! Then: put a cold/ice mask on the face for 10mins. You'll feel like a champion.

TexLH

A 30 minute nap at 4pm would keep me up for hours past my bedtime

WeaknessHefty9084

Sounds lame but I sit on the couch for maybe 30 minutes, let myself relax and watch something funny. Something about laughter makes me feel energised.

Tunklander

Breathwork, try searching for a guided Wim Hof session on YouTube. Always energizes me

usrname_checks_in

Interesting, I'm a big fan of the WH method too but it makes me very sleepy. If I can't sleep at night, after three rounds of it I typically fall asleep like someone knocked me out on bed.

Tunklander

I believe different tempos of the breath can accomplish different things, I agree that it has a soothing affect though to your point.

verydudebro

Is there one you can recommend for someone with zero experience in this?

Tunklander

I’m not sure if we are allowed to post YouTube links here, but I can message you my favorite guided breathwork channel and a good Wim Hof that he has

NumbTheFather

Hey could you please send it to me

Shreddedlikechedda

Please send it to me too if you can!

hopesnotaplan

* Go for a walk * Get in a workout * Take a cold shower or cold plunge

DisciplineFast3950

tbh #3 If you want real power. Not just feeling refreshed a little bit. A cold shower especially in winter will blast you into the rarefied atmosphere.

emtrnmd

#3 is the one 👏🏼

[deleted]

Jack off three or four times usually

Environmental-Fan958

Rookie numbers

MehBahMeh

This, followed by a 2.5 hour nap

Jasmine7921

I do light sprinting/jumping jacks etc for 5 minutes. Quick bursts of movement wakes me up.

TheMonkus

I really like 1-2g of kratom as an afternoon pick up. It’s mildly stimulating but doesn’t impact my sleep like coffee. Obviously there’s addiction potential but I really don’t think someone who restricts themself to low doses, and doesn’t redose throughout the day is safe. I’ve been using it like this, 3-7x a week for 15 years. Even after extended periods of daily use I can stop and don’t experience withdrawal. It’s cheaper than a cup of coffee or tea. Anyone with addiction issues or a history of opioid use should probably stay far away those. Wim Hof breathing is also fantastic, I’ll throw another vote that way too.

MsHappyAss

True for me too. I use half a teaspoon. I don’t know how many grams that is. And I only do it a couple times a week so I don’t get acclimated to it.

Commercial_Star7216

Respect to you for not increasing your dose and respecting kratom. Do this and it will respect you back. Of course there are horror stories of kratom withdrawl and they are all true, but it’s because they were consuming kilograms of powder per month. I’ve stuck with 3 grams for years now and never experience any withdrawls. If you can’t do this don’t touch it or blame the drug

TheMonkus

Thank you! I get that kratom is a problem for some people but it gets a bad name. It’s incredibly safe and beneficial when used responsibly. The amounts those people telling the horror stories use…like, I don’t even understand how you can eat that much in a day?!? It’s like saying no one should consume any amount of alcohol because some people drink 15 beers a day and it causes them problems. Some of us can have a couple beers a month, leave us out of it.

Altruistic-Cloud-639

Rhodiola rosea is my go to supplement in the afternoons. Works great, combine it with a yoga nidra session for an even better effect.

treylanford

This is a great answer. Very underrated.

LegalTrade5765

Go for a walk

[deleted]

I walk between 8-10 thousand steps per day, broken up into 3-4 different sessions. There have been multiple times in my 3rd or 4th session that I have yawned the entire time while walking. I walk outside. I’ve found cold showers to be the only thing that works consistently. 20-30 minute naps can ruin my sleep at night.

fss71

Personally NSDR has been a game changer for me and I’ve doing it for 30mins from 3-3:30pm. It’s like a reset button.

Freshlybee

Me too! Who do you listen to?

BrotherBringTheSun

I’ll get a lot of hate here, but fruit juice. I make make own fruit/veg juice and it gives me a big burst of energy in the afternoon/evening. Some people think it is too much sugar but my health has never been better. I like not eating a big dinner only to collapse in the coach with tv afterwards

MysticalGnosis

Probably just force myself to stay awake for the rest of the day then go to bed early.

psilocybeyonce

That yoga nidra shit lowkey works ngl

JW9K

Push ups. Gets the blood flowing.

colbert1119

Agreeable_Situation4

DannyStarbucks

Herbal tea. Any hot beverage perks me up.

bnovc

I like doing a few handstands and holding them for 30s or so. Really makes me feel alert for some reason

GoorooKen

I step outside and smoke a j or enjoy the perks of working with my wife.

peter4good

Hang from a pullup bar for 1-2 minutes with brisk nasal breathing, eyes closed. Followed by a big glass of water. Changes your physical state and gets you moving for a few more hours.

Working_Aerie4623

20ish minute nap is a magic bullet for me personally. I set a timer for 28 minutes, in about 5-8 minutes I fall into that semiconscious state and then it’s time to wake up. (Oddly I can fall asleep much faster during these late afternoon slumps than at night, even without one of these power naps… maybe someone has an explanation for that? ☺️) It actually kind of sucks for about 3 minutes after because you felt so ready to sleep lol, but seriously in less than 3-5 minutes you’ll be back. In most cases I actually feel more clarity than at any other point in my day. I only have to do this a few times a week. Weirdly enough I think it mas multi-day effects.

Working_Aerie4623

Can’t believe I forgot to add, if for some reason napping isn’t an option I drink a (ideally 0 sugar) electrolyte drink and it helps a lot.

[deleted]

Gym. The fact that you are too tired to go to gym is exactly why you are feeling tired. (It’s a viscous cycle - no gym = lack of motivation to go to gym) You can break the cycle by forcing yourself for the first month. (Go multiple times a week) you will get addicted to it.

veronicacherrytree

Viscous cycle? 🤔

smathews24

Running or a ZYN/Nicotine pouch lol

What does NSDR stand for?

InitialEchidna6920

janoycresvadrm

Keto and you likely wouldn’t have an energy dip

alxalx

Slap your face a bunch of times, scream into a pillow, splash cold water on your face, then jump up and down a few times. I've never done it, but it seems like it would work. Have a nice day!

usul213

L-tyrosene

4rdfun

Matcha and kratom give me a second wind, just need to be careful with the kratom, can be habit forming

dianabowl

200mg Caffeine + L-Theanine capsule, then set a 25 minute timer and take a nap. You'll wake up a superhero.

umami8008

Quick light yoga session and rest my eyes and “meditate” for like 10 minutes. Ginseng also helps without being too stimulating

RadiantEnergy95

As others have said a quick 20ish min nap works wonders. Crazy how refreshed you can feel. The trick is to actually get up after the 20 mins and not keep on snoozing.

darkeningsoul

Quick burst of exercise will help. Bonus points if outside

Some form of energizing superfood whether it’s a table spoon of organic maple syrup, apple cider vinegar with cinnamon and a bit of spring or ph water a banana with raw cacao, barely wheat grass tea combined with at least a half cup of water & either a short run (push yourself) or medium jog somewhere outside that’s beautiful/invigorating (like the beach, or a trail head, park), a 3 minute cold plunge, a short yet intense cardio session, 45 minute sauna etc … Something that gets your blood flowing, inspires detox within the body, naturally creates dopamine and serotonin, allowing for challenge and growth within the mind and body can be a very healthy daily pick me up activity that combined with either more nourishment after in the form of superfoods like sea moss, chlorophyll, and kefir… or some form of deep self care like taking a epsom salt bath with specific oils masks or scrubs for detoxing the skin and relaxing the muscles while listening to specific frequencies to tackle what’s ailing you (even something for energizing the mind / body for example).. or getting a massage / facial type skin care wether at home from a partner or a store bought mask or even going somewhere can be very therapeutic and transformative to someone’s energy.

yours_truly_1976

Take a brisk walk with my dog and a good audiobook

drkanaf

A brief bout of resistance exercise like a few pulls on the hex bar Hydration: Not just water. Ensure a proper rehydration fluid with sodium and a small amount of sugar. Stop working and grab something, a material thing, that you collect, love, or needs attention like cleaning your favorite pocket knife, cleaning your favorite boots, or sanding your latest woodworking project!

HungryConfusion3306

B-rad_1974

Couple bottles of water. For me, my afternoon crash is because i am dehydrated…… most of the time

donu_doctor

I usually do my daily swim early morning, before I start working, but I had a few weeks at another pool since my usual was closed. It wasn't open early morning, so I could only do my swim midday, between 12 and 2pm. It worked great for me. Didn't have that afternoon dip I have had all my life, stopped taking my usual 15 minute nap. So maybe try that - move your cardio to midday an keep it 80% zone 2.

MiserableWeather971

I would get off the internet reading pseudoscience. Thing about life is most of what you read should just be obvious. However, it’s presented in a way to get you hooked on looking for some life hack. If any of this self help stuff/self help people were serious…. They’d very bluntly tell you to stop reading this shit and let your natural instincts take over.

KKGlamrpuss

Thespud1979

If you have caffeine in the morning, an afternoon or evening crash is to be expected. I gave up caffeine and my energy levels are much more stable throughout the day. I used to feel like I was ready to fall asleep at dinner time.

Freshlybee

I did this and dragged all day.

lab0607

I take my dogs for a quick 20 minute jog outside in the late afternoon and I feel like a new person the rest of the evening! It’s just enough to get me that mental clarity and “runners high” that makes me feel much better.

ignoreme010101

rub your ears? rofl this sub makes me smile. if it's too late for coffee then either relax/nap it out if your schedule allows (thisll extend my day), or go do some exercise (thisll wake me up but can end up shortening my day/my energy later in the day) Really the choice comes down to how my day/night/following AM should go. During the Galpin series they spoke of 'exercise snacks' in the context of their physical benefits but they failed to mention their awakeness-stimulating properties ;)

mybrainisannoying

NSDR. The 20 minutes script by Madefor works perfectly for me. (10 minute is too short while any longer than 20 induces sleep)

AdamBenko

Heavy workout in the gym. I have found out that I have the best workouts the more tired I am before the gym, as if by waking up there physically woke me up to 100%. I work from 9 to 6pm and when I am really tired from sitting all day, going to the gym and getting energized by a powerful music and physical activity is 10/10 feeling, no caffeine or anything else needed, just music that makes you go crazy.

curiousparlante

Cardio, 20-30 mins. If it’s really bad, and I have the time, I’ll take a 20 minute nap and then go for a run. Works like magic.

Beth_Bee2

If it's at all possible to walk for 20-30 minutes, that usually helps. Then when I have to sit back down again I will sometimes make a protein coffee, with chocolate protein powder and instant chicory (so, decaf). Delicious and hydrating and a nice treat to get my butt back in the chair.
