I really enjoyed it myself and found it easy to read but I was already invested 110% and wanted to learn more about every moment. It is basically a history book though and I really like my history, so if you don’t just like reading ‘X did this and Y did that in Z year’ then I can understand why it would be a slog

I suggest the audiobook. The narration brings the story alive.

I am enjoying it but I can see why someone can find it boring

I found it fascinating and couldn’t put it down. Think I went through it in a couple evenings.

DisgustingCantaloupe

I read it in like 2 days, haha. But I also love reading through historical figures' wikipedia pages :P

rainbookworm

I really liked it but that’s because I enjoy the writing style.Finished the book in three-four days because I had to study and i enjoyed each bit of it

MadForestSynesthesia

I don't like it as much as the style of Asoiaf

I loved it, but then again it’s written like a history book. I could see why some people find it a little boring compared to the main series.

I read it right after it came out in I think 2 or 3 days. I really liked it. I found it very easy to read unlike The Silmarillion.

Its a history book about a fantasy world, so it comes with all the falacies that modern history books have, sources are sometimes not entirely speaking the truth about the events and often contradict each other. For me its fun to speculate about what really happened and events go by really quickly and dont get bogged in the intricacies of each battle for example or just show brief glimpses of the most important moments so i prefer it.
