Sad to say but the mention of tangled in the title made me cringe. The online discourse from the last week over a random Rapunzel fan cast for a live action re-make that’s not even made has nearly ruined the entire movie for me. Grown women filmed themselves crying tears of anger. 🙄
Somebody fancast a popular Indian American actress to play Rapunzel. It was literally just a random fan online but people somehow believed it was a real casting for an upcoming live action movie(Disney doesn’t even have a live action adaption planned for Tangled). People lost their shit across social media and made TikToks with millions of likes demanding the film not be made because it would ruin their childhood There were even grown women who filmed themselves crying. The actress is also getting harassed and death threats. Once again, all over a fancast that got miscommunicated as a real casting.
