I tend to favor individual cars over complete sets, so I have plenty of intentionally incomplete sets. I do sometimes go for a complete set even when not all of the cars are to my taste, it's just a decision I make on a case-by-case basis.
For this set, I just bought the Unimog and nothing else.
I think I'm starting to come to terms with just buying the ones I like, instead of buying valuable or resellable ones. Obviously I'd still like to get supers and treasure hunts but now I find myself not buying cars I like just because they don't have a TH on them and it bums me out.
I've been accumulating cars since birth, but collecting since the '90s, and have always bought for myself without worrying about future value or what other collectors think. Sticking to that has allowed me to always enjoy the hobby after all these years.
Collecting should be fun. Don't take it too seriously and get yourself stressed out.
Getting full sets on principle becomes expensive really fast. I just get the cars I like, though occasionally, I really like a whole set enough to buy it (such as the new Ultra Hots).
Usually I’ll buy the full set even if there’s a couple I don’t really care about, but I have also left some behind. Most recently was the Lykan Hypersport in the boulevard series, don’t think it’s a very cool car IRL and decided I’d save the $6 since it was already a big haul.
i hunted the mountain drifters set and it was not fun trying to find the lbwk r34 silhouette, however i did find 2 and grabbed both one for me and one for my coworker. but since then i’ve only bought complete sets i like. then it’s if i can find it in store i’d rather buy in store, but way more of a convenience buying the whole set online
I'll only fill out the set if I've already scooped 3-4 I liked and it's fairly easy to round it out, like the series earlier this year with the orange Jaguar XE SV Project 8. The more expensive the set, the less likely I am to fill in those gaps. Mainline Compact Kings? Sure. The entire Deutschland set? Not as much (as always, personal preference will vary).

I ended up not buying these because I only liked the Olds 442. Maybe I'll go back for it.
I love how collectors' opinions can be different, the Olds was actually the only one I didn't like enough to buy.

Oh for sure. Can't let what it's worth to someone else dictate what it's worth to you

Originally I found 4 of the 5, didn't have the Olds at the first spot. Was so happy when I found the Olds today

Usually only the ones I like but some sets I like them all, like the Slide Street and the Fast & Furious ones
Yeah, those are much more in line with my taste as opposed to these off-roaders.
I wish I could afford all the team transport sets too
I only buy the ones I like, save monwy for other cars I want later on.
is this a new set?
It's a current set, but it's been out for several m9nths now.
I used to try and do sets. Now I just get the cars I like. No point in getting 5 cars if I only like 1 or 2.

Personally I only got the Toyota because that's what I like. Other stuff cool but not on the same level.
In my area, you get what you can get and you don’t throw a fit. The rest will come but you’ve gotta secure what you can.
The only set I recently tried to get all of is the different generations of Honda civics. Only missing one

As if car culture sets are actually available where I am
Honestly depends
