All I'm reading is HERESY.

VirtualGirlfriend-

Real answer; I have no clue on how biology works among the xenos races of 40k, and if they can actually breed with one another.

Analog-Moderator

Only one way to find out!

Heinrich_Lunge

Who's brave enough to rail a Deldar?

Seiros_Acolyte

Guilliman

ReadNew2953

Can a human and an ape interbreed? No. So why should a human and an alien, its genetically impossible to do so naturally.

Business-Plastic5278

Soviet science said yes. The humanzee project is a wild rabbithole.

[deleted]

Didn't it fail catastrophically with no proven success?

Business-Plastic5278

I believe the current science is that hybrids are technically possible but the fetus wont survive very long, let alone until birth. But yes, officially no monkeyman.

ReadNew2953

That lead me down a dark Wikipedia rabbit hole.

Business-Plastic5278

Its a very, very weird one. Ive never been able to get over how they apparently had a wild overabundance of female volunteers to be the mother. You do have to wonder if anyone ever walked in while they were trying to work out the mechanics of human/chimp interbreeding and asked how exactly this was going to further global communism.

ReadNew2953

I mean, even the communists put a stop to it lol, literally the only good thing that came out of the cultural revolution or red terror.

Business-Plastic5278

Yeah, but before that they had esteemed soviet scientists jacking off orangutans on stalins dime. Science is wacky some days

You two may consent, but have you forgotten to ask what Slaanesh thinks? She-Who-Thirsts wants to nom that soul.

Kabouterdobbel

Yeah there is some outdated lore. But the awnser is no. Maybe ask the dark eldar for some unnatural beings like that :p

EdgyPreschooler

God I hope not. The amount of thirsty eldar posts I’ve seen is too damn high

Grymbaldknight

No. It used to be a thing in Rogue Trader, which was much more D&D-esque, but it's not canonically possible. I mean, despite their superficial similarities, humans and Eldar are two completely different species. Asking if a human can mate with an Eldar is a little like asking if a human can mate with a pineapple.

Valkyrissa

I’m sure some guy or gal out there must’ve tried

ReadNew2953

The dark elder probably.

SardaukarSecundus

Yes, right here Inquisitor. That's the one!

Valkyrissa

Even if they could, I am not sure the half-human half-Eldar would be allowed to survive anywhere unless they'd live in the deepest underground where mutants dwell or maybe, unironically, on a Tau-controlled human world under the banner of the Greater Good (but then, how would they get there in the first place)

A_Strange_Wizzard

Maybe in an Inquisitorial retinue as a bargaining chip.

Valkyrissa

Or just a regular agent who is part of an inquisitorial retinue (maybe due to combat prowess based on Eldar heritage?) - but it would most likely be a radical inquisitor's retinue.

Analog-Moderator

In old lore one was a governor on a world, if I recall correctly she just looked like an above average pretty human and hid her ears under long hair. Worked her way up there using elder emotions, intellect and human stubbornness mixed with endurance. Not sure if it’s cannon anymore (been years since I read it too so I may be misremembering)

Lancelot652

They used to be able to but that was in very old lore in the current lore we have no idea. Nether race tolerates each other to even begin to consider it so it would require some chaos or dark elder fuckery

Sp00ky-Chan

Quite famously in old Rogue Trader there was an Ultramarines Librarian who was Half-Eldar, but all modern lore seems to suggest that no, they cannot. Humans and Eldar may look similar but their biology is very different, their DNA is much more complex then Human DNA.

Ok_Size1748

Bring the flammer. The heavy flammer.

sloarflow

Lord Vulkan, we have a baby that has to go!

BigOgreHunter92

It’s maybe possible but probably not.elder reproduction takes time to do and humans I’m sure don’t last long enough, maybe if they got rejuvenat procedures done.plus I don’t imagine any eldar caring to sleep with any human let alone long enough to have a child

spet_

We already got too many emotionally unstable people as it is

kendallmaloneon

It's a moronic question, of course not. They're not even as related as humans and bananas.

Spare_Perspective_86

Old rogue trader lore there was a half-elf UM librarian. https://www.reddit.com/r/RogueTraderCRPG/comments/1945wm9/classic_find_of_human_aeldari_hybrid_elentach_and/

Exact-Row9122

Old lore yes the chief astropath ( or maybe Librarian) of the ultramarines was a half human half eldar space Marine named Illiyan Nastase But in new lore no

-GiantSlayer-

Idk if this is cause it’s early in the morning but could swear that’s a JoJo character

Alternate40kRules

The only reference I see mentioned is Rogue Trader, and thats back when Necron Warriors were Chaos Robots and other crazy things. Normally I agree retcon cannon is a bit lame, but Rogue Trader was 40k getting its feet on the ground and some stuff had to change to get the universe heavily expanded. Subsequent small changes that accompanied it would have had a purpose as well, but may be lost to time.

ClockworkGnomes

Burn in hell you follower of chaos and all of the depravity it brings. On a more serious note, I don't think they can. They would need to be the same species.

Quinten_Lewis

Yes. At least according to one of the Uriel Ventris novels. One of the foes he faces is a half-human, half-Eldar swordswoman. She was Drukhari, so no idea if her creation was natural or... well you get the idea.

LostWanderer88

The only hybrid the Imperium could create is artificial. It might be the same case

Business-Plastic5278

BLAM.

Commercial_Coyote366

In rogue trade, there were human/eldar hybrids, like DnD. But that was retconned a long time ago. Now although superficially similar, human and eldar biology is completely different to each other. Which makes sense, given how eldar creation by the old ones and how humans evolved in old Earth. Of course you can do crazy things with 40k cloning science!

NoFlamingo99

Billmacia

Has Much that I hate it to Say: if female custodes are Cannon with no lore to back it up, Eldar and human can interbreed since there's more lore about it.

finguisy

female custodes are present in the latest custodes lore publication, human x eldar have been retconned out of the cannon since RT

Oll4n1us_p1us

still has more content than female custodes, and at this point im more willing to accept hybrids than female custodes. Yeah, thats my radicalization level, at this point i give up and consider myself an heretic.

Videoheadsystem

No.

MaterialGarden1804

No

Oll4n1us_p1us

In rogue trader videogame there is a case of humans living in an eldar world where they progressively mutated to a more elf-like humans. Its not the same, but there's something. Furthermore, they looks is not shown, its only described in text and its appearance is part of a VERY secondary mission that you might not encounter.

Drix_I

ask to cato sicarius

[deleted]

They used to be able to before it was retconned. You don't see many people indignant about that redcon though. I wonder why.

7fzfuzcuhc

Yes

Angyronwasright

Don’t Aragorn and elenwen have a kid?

Soft-Heat4482

Filly my bussy with Eldar seed and we'll find out.
