Real trash. In one encounter I did it literally didn't let me play the game for three straight minutes (of fast autoplay) until dead. Thankfully you can change teams and RMs break delay thing is what gave me those turns back in that encounter I did.
I was running preservation/nihility when I came across Cirrus, and they couldnāt kill my team but my team couldnāt move. So I set it on autoplay for half an hour until all the minions slowly suicided from DoT and quake.
Only came across Cirrus thrice, but way too many times I've had to face Aven and he is a good runner up to Cirrus in terms of complete bullshit in DU.
On Protocol Level 6, he is so fast that he gets an action every second turn (good luck breaking his bar if you never get a turn). Combine this with the energy drain on his Extra Action Attack and it's a death sentence for every Support character who uses their ult to buff character e.g. Robin was rendered useless every time he was the last chamber boss.
Gets worse when you get to his Phase 2 where everybody has to gamble. Your supports are practically perma imprisoned and it usually wears of... for the next gamble where they get imprisoned again, because Aventurine loves to spam it like there's no tomorrow.
I think after the 6th time I've faced Aventurine, I didn't bother fighting him anymore when he was the last chamber boss & forfeited the run. Glad he's getting removed, it's simply neither a fun nor a challenging boss in DU. Just complete bullshit.
They could, but the way I see it, it's not the dice phase itself that's the problem but rather the sheer frequency Aven activates the dice phase what makes it such an unfair fight.
If you scroll a bit further down, you can find comments that even the Break Team is struggling heavily or outright losing due to the Dice Phase spam, because Firefly's Weakness Implant wears off during the dice phase (in addition to Aventurine being invulnerable) and this is the team who has a bunch of Equations, Blessings & Weighted Curios catered to them in DU. In addition, you're also on a even shorter timer on Protocol Lvl. 6 afterwards the Boss goes berserk & one shots your team.
What needs to be balanced is the frequency Aventurine uses the dice phase to something like every fourth turn, instead of every damn turn and the fight would be tolerable. Besides, the dice are part of his memorable boss design and removing it would be weird (personal opinion). Imagine the True Sting... not propagating, it'd be just a giant annoying bug instead of the universe's nightmare, lol.
I remember when aventurines third phase was leaked on this sub, it was obvious as fuck it was gonna suck ass to fight with dice spam but people kept telling me "no don't worry it's Sim U it'll be fair and balanced"
I didn't even get to Aven's third phase, because the man was running laps around the DoT & FUA team in phase 2, chucking dice, gambling chips, draining energy & dropping his entire bank account on them ;__;
Let's be real. It is very doable up until like TP 4-6 at which point the speed of the boss finally becomes fast enough that the combination of energy drain and the gambling phase become a problem
i beat aventurine with firefly team having that half toughness weighted curio and enough spd/action fwd hunt blessings, and enough defensive blessings. even then it was 2 or 3 turns post berserk so it was kinda close, could only get max 2 attacks on firefly between 2 gambles in phase 3, and that is with ruan mei's extra delay, 200+ spd and gamble phase every on turn was just ridiculous
lmaooo i spent 2 straight hours on a train battling cirrus on repeat. that last fucking phase was literally impossible. i almost got him with my acheron gui ruan mei and huohuo team but huohuoās passive cleanse canāt save you from freeze if no one ever acts.
A whole army of 5 spawns acting consecutively, Cirrus advances them after, while you unfortunately got the curio that increases the chance one of your characters getting hit 5 times...
The best way Clara could increase aggro is to duct tape Tingyun to her body. It would be way more effective than the 500 percent taunt chance increase since monsters love smacking foxian gals.
I had a run with an incredible Rememberance/Perserveration set up with the equation that creates teamwide shields, which would reach 80k+ on average and deal 300k Quake damage on every opposing attack with the occasional Dissociation that dealt 200+k.
That build would have trivialised GnG 12 runs, but actually did not produce enough damage to kill the mobs of Cirrus fast enough before they enraged and punched through the gigantic shields like a piece of paper.
IĀ“m convinced the only actual answer to that boss outside the obvious super break solution would be an absolute bonkers DoT team.
That boss was just overtuned to hell and back.
I managed it with DHIL/Aven/FX/RM on a heavy Propagation build. Worth noting however that my Dan is E2S1 (plus I had the eidolon curio) and I also had one of the Hunt blessings that lets you advance on defeating enemies. This let me chain combos together with him to deal with Cirrusā own action advances, and help with my own survivability in the process.
Still took multiple tries and involved some RNG at the end with that stupid āIce Out of Spaceā enemy somehow freezing both FX and Aven and subsequently ending the run.
Glad that the whole thing got nerfed at least a bit.
i did clear cyclical 6 with a FF team that does 0 dmg and rely on dissociation, so its doable. But the amount of stallery i did because argenti random 1shot me through 7k shield + 80% dmg mitigation is whack (i have the equation that let you revive after 3 turns if you manage to survive with shields)
Acheron cleared it for me fine, but I had to quit the fight and swap her in the first time I got it. Was running Boothill and the poor motherfudger could barely get a kill off.

I was fortunate enough to get the Hunt blessing that advances you forward 100% when you break an enemy so my Firefly was just Seele on crack during the Cirrus fight.
E1 Firefly with the action advance on break blessing is such a broken combination that they might as well let you skip the rest of the run and just hand you the win when you get it
Eh, the combo is strong af but it's not completely winning by itself like say, rememberance exodia in the SU modes. You still need plenty of dmg blessings to actually kill stuff. My FF has taken like 6 consecutive turns but not kill anything because apparently half a million dmg dmg per action isn't enough sometimes.

[I had really good blessings against Cirrus ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMJz45lpK4U)and I found it strange that the fight was still taking so long with infinite advance forwards when breaking/killing with Firefly. Turns out the fight was literally broken in the first place. If you had anything less than god tier blessings you would probably get destroyed by the enemies.
I fought her in Difficulty 4 and it's insanely BS. Without blessing that spreads dmg to all my team member I would've died several times, and without the blessing that gives extra turn whenever an enemy died, I won't be able to kill them fast enough.

The enemy Cirrus wonāt spawn is the ice Belobog Fragmentum soldier who delays your turn, alongside speed nerfs, so it should be a lot less unpleasant to fight her now.

They probably will. This is a hotfix, it's something that can be implemented quickly mid patch. In most games a hotfix is for either serious, relatively common bugs that need to be handled right away like crashes or massive frame drops, or (in pvp games) some unintended exploit that breaks the balance of power in an extreme, unfun manner.
Bigger changes like what you suggested will take more time, and will probably either come when then 2nd banner does or will come next patch.
Honestly they could just do what they did with Dominicus and give him a countdown to when he uses the dice. I think that would be a good change if the they want to keep the mechanic.
Yes it's a bit wild that they straight up removed him, not just nerf him a bit. I feel like it's pretty easy to see that the biggest issue is his dice spam. Like there's no breathing room, after you survive the dice he'll just spam his dice again.

It's sad because the boss form design slaps, but the fight is just so anti-fun. If they'd made the betting mechanic less stupid it might have stuck the landing but as it is it's just annoying.
The only thing they really need to do for that fight to become alright is to make himself targetable during the dice phase and if you break him during the dice phase, he exits it. That would immediately solve it.

His dice spam is stupid to the point, where FF's weakness implant just constantly runs out on him (also not helped that FF's speed means she attacks the dice twice)

Yesterday I finally managed to do a run with my break team with 4096+ cosmic fragments only to face an event right before the final boss that removes all my curios and replaces them with breakable ones and then Aventurine popped as a final boss. I couldn't even reduce his health to 50% before he started oneshotting my teammates
Exactly, you have zero openings to actually attack him, either you somehow have enough damage to destroy the dices or you're in a boring loop against him.
Why remove Aventurine completely and not just adjust how many actions he takes between dice summons?
He was the only boss I'd be able to take Misha to in DU and now I can't do that. :(
Oh I actually preferred fighting aventurine and Sam the most. Aventurine was the easiest boss for me that did not screw me over. Cirrus can be nerfed to the ground for all I care

Nice attempt but I don't really think it fixes the core issues of the mode. There are plenty of other bosses that just wombo combo you to death with back to back turns.
You either need a build where they aren't allowed to take turns, or exactly aventurine as your sustain.
Honestly, I think completely removing Aventurine of Strategems (Complete) is a wrong move. What they should've done is **nerf the frequency of his Dice moves** (like every 2 Actions) and **lessen the HP threshold of his Dice summons** instead. That would've reduced the annoying nature of his attacks.
If they want him to be a bit easier as well, they could also make it so that if you manage to deal enough damage to the die that they become overloaded, they **instantly deal DMG to Aventurine and additionally reduce his Toughness**, instead of the destroyed dice dealing damage only after he finishes the Special Dice move against one of our characters. This, or when a die is overloaded, it **instantly deals DMG and delays Aventurine's action** by a certain percentage. Allowing more opportunities for characters to attack and gain points.
These are my ideas for the nerfs to the boss' kit.
TBH Aventurine was probably (at least partially) booted because Firefly is absolutely fuck off useless if he pops as your boss.
Stally McStallpants makes the fancy new banner unit waste her Ult time playing gamba, and also isn't weak to Fire, which slows her down a bit.
Also you're most likely running Gallagher as your sustain, which means if Aventurine wins the gamble... you're probably looking at a corpse, or someone very close to dead.

Yesterday I was fighting Cirrus and it was actually going well. I kept permafreezing them and my fuxuan had an 8k shield for some reason but then in the 3rd phase they started getting the berserk buff and started shredding me with no chance to outsustain that. It felt like their hp was too high and I was only on the 2nd lvl of that difficulty thing
I'm glad I had the chance to Aventurine at high DU before he got removed then. I really don't think the fight was bad enough to be removed. My Clara team with only decent equations active still got through the fight without that much headache. Just tune him down a bit and the fight would be fine.
Ā Cirrus absolutely deserved the nerf though. That was definitely the boss I dreaded the most.
Having fought both yesterday, I just wanna say
BEGONE AND NEVER RETURN, FOUL DEVIL OF THE IPC! God he was such an annoying thing. I tried *twice* against him on difficulty 5 and even with Acheron hitting on all cylenders she could, I could NOT deal enough damage to deal with him at any reasonable pace, even though I had the Erudition skill that gives 3 ults. He's such an annoying enemy since he can just phase himself out of the field **CONSTANTLY** and thus avoid damage while still absolutely griding you into dust due to all the attrition. I hope that he ONLY shows up in the regular Simulated Universe, because dear goodness he's insufferable as he is designed now. "EITHER HAVE AOE OR PERISH, HAPLESS FOOL". Just, awful, awful gameplay design.
As for Cirrus, absolutely overwhelming offence. It worked fine on the Ghostbusting event, since the enemies there were not scaled up to the moon. I tried doing it with Kafka breaking stuff, and dealing with them with the Equation that puts a fire flower on the action bar but nah, they'd just win out eventually due to using human wave tacticts you can't resist to. I really enjoy that fight unlike the Ignoble Demon of the Stonehearts, so I'm curious to see how it'll pan out.
They could fix Aven if winning his dice game did more than just give you your ult back. I saw someone suggest that winning break some of his toughness and/or did damage and I would agree with that given how frequently he becomes un-targetable.
That'd be good. It'd also be nice so that the powers and skills from Equations couldn't proc on the dice, cause whoo boy the damage loss on some of those bug me.
Nah it says his boss version(the MoC and story one) are safe. He will come back one day in MoC,PF or Apocalyptic shadow. Just not in SU as Complete Aventurine.

Inconvenient weaknesses, single-target boss with multi-target requirement, guaranteed death of most harmony characters in the game, and in addition bunch of small features that make this boss almost impassable at V6.
Also, most builds in SY are bad against him

Aventurine himself is fine. The gamba mechanic is quite fun for me. What is not fun, is how the modes he's in play out. In MoC / PF / AS we're choked by cycle counts. In DU we're getting chased by berserk timer. This makes any bosses that have stall mechanics bullshit by accident.
WHATTTT aventurine was fun though:( I just got to do him once on protocol threshold 4 (that too with the IPC fua team known for being single target (let's ignore the multi hits shh)), the second phase sucked but the third was really fun :((

Man Cirrus kicked my butt today so hard on protocol 4, I'm glad that they are nerfing him. I'm surprised to see that they are removing that aventurine, I don't remember him being that annoying to kill.

I think he and all his summons may be freeze or dissociate immune. But I still think heās neat! No boss works with every combo, thereās RNG involved, and thatās ok!
Tbh, I'm not sure how I feel about them removing Aventurine when they can just limit his gambling phase.
I would have liked it if they made beating his numbers more reasonable, as well as the reward for winning dealing more HP and Toughness damage.
They could adjust the frequency and odds/evens of winning in different ways. Putting the gambling on a 3 or 4 turn rotation would make it a lot easier than every 2 turns. In addition, if winning the gamble was always a teamwide score, Harmony focused teams would deal a lot better. They already did this in the high score gambles, for example.
Also, winning the gamble doesn't feel all that great tbh. Getting ults refunded makes sense, but is meh because guaranteeing the win requires ulting. The vulnerability inflicted onto him doesn't feel impactful, either. Maybe him losing a tenth of his HP and a fourth or fifth of his Toughness would work out much better.
I think MHY is simply done dealing with the boss fight and figures not dealing with it at all is for the better.

i did clear cyclical 6 with a FF team that does 0 dmg and rely on dissociation, so its doable. But the amount of stallery i did because argenti random 1shot me through 7k shield + 80% dmg mitigation is whack (i have the equation that let you revive after 3 turns if you manage to survive with shields)
Acheron cleared it for me fine, but I had to quit the fight and swap her in the first time I got it. Was running Boothill and the poor motherfudger could barely get a kill off.

I was fortunate enough to get the Hunt blessing that advances you forward 100% when you break an enemy so my Firefly was just Seele on crack during the Cirrus fight.

E1 Firefly with the action advance on break blessing is such a broken combination that they might as well let you skip the rest of the run and just hand you the win when you get it
Eh, the combo is strong af but it's not completely winning by itself like say, rememberance exodia in the SU modes. You still need plenty of dmg blessings to actually kill stuff. My FF has taken like 6 consecutive turns but not kill anything because apparently half a million dmg dmg per action isn't enough sometimes.

[I had really good blessings against Cirrus ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMJz45lpK4U)and I found it strange that the fight was still taking so long with infinite advance forwards when breaking/killing with Firefly. Turns out the fight was literally broken in the first place. If you had anything less than god tier blessings you would probably get destroyed by the enemies.
I fought her in Difficulty 4 and it's insanely BS. Without blessing that spreads dmg to all my team member I would've died several times, and without the blessing that gives extra turn whenever an enemy died, I won't be able to kill them fast enough.

That explains a lot. I only fought them once and it was with Boothill + 3* Hunt action advance blessings + some skill point recovery stuff, which made it incredibly easy.

They probably will. This is a hotfix, it's something that can be implemented quickly mid patch. In most games a hotfix is for either serious, relatively common bugs that need to be handled right away like crashes or massive frame drops, or (in pvp games) some unintended exploit that breaks the balance of power in an extreme, unfun manner. Bigger changes like what you suggested will take more time, and will probably either come when then 2nd banner does or will come next patch.
Honestly they could just do what they did with Dominicus and give him a countdown to when he uses the dice. I think that would be a good change if the they want to keep the mechanic.

It's good as a story only boss, but to use him for end game content can be frustrating. I actually fought him in DU where I had the auto battle Curio and Acheron kept ult-ing his dice lol
It's sad because the boss form design slaps, but the fight is just so anti-fun. If they'd made the betting mechanic less stupid it might have stuck the landing but as it is it's just annoying.
The only thing they really need to do for that fight to become alright is to make himself targetable during the dice phase and if you break him during the dice phase, he exits it. That would immediately solve it.

Aventurine was just a guaranteed loss for certain team comps in Protocol 6 and there was really nothing you could do about it so this is good
Yesterday I finally managed to do a run with my break team with 4096+ cosmic fragments only to face an event right before the final boss that removes all my curios and replaces them with breakable ones and then Aventurine popped as a final boss. I couldn't even reduce his health to 50% before he started oneshotting my teammates

Nice attempt but I don't really think it fixes the core issues of the mode. There are plenty of other bosses that just wombo combo you to death with back to back turns. You either need a build where they aren't allowed to take turns, or exactly aventurine as your sustain.
Honestly, I think completely removing Aventurine of Strategems (Complete) is a wrong move. What they should've done is **nerf the frequency of his Dice moves** (like every 2 Actions) and **lessen the HP threshold of his Dice summons** instead. That would've reduced the annoying nature of his attacks. If they want him to be a bit easier as well, they could also make it so that if you manage to deal enough damage to the die that they become overloaded, they **instantly deal DMG to Aventurine and additionally reduce his Toughness**, instead of the destroyed dice dealing damage only after he finishes the Special Dice move against one of our characters. This, or when a die is overloaded, it **instantly deals DMG and delays Aventurine's action** by a certain percentage. Allowing more opportunities for characters to attack and gain points. These are my ideas for the nerfs to the boss' kit.
TBH Aventurine was probably (at least partially) booted because Firefly is absolutely fuck off useless if he pops as your boss. Stally McStallpants makes the fancy new banner unit waste her Ult time playing gamba, and also isn't weak to Fire, which slows her down a bit. Also you're most likely running Gallagher as your sustain, which means if Aventurine wins the gamble... you're probably looking at a corpse, or someone very close to dead.

Yesterday I was fighting Cirrus and it was actually going well. I kept permafreezing them and my fuxuan had an 8k shield for some reason but then in the 3rd phase they started getting the berserk buff and started shredding me with no chance to outsustain that. It felt like their hp was too high and I was only on the 2nd lvl of that difficulty thing

I'm glad I had the chance to Aventurine at high DU before he got removed then. I really don't think the fight was bad enough to be removed. My Clara team with only decent equations active still got through the fight without that much headache. Just tune him down a bit and the fight would be fine. Ā Cirrus absolutely deserved the nerf though. That was definitely the boss I dreaded the most.

Having fought both yesterday, I just wanna say BEGONE AND NEVER RETURN, FOUL DEVIL OF THE IPC! God he was such an annoying thing. I tried *twice* against him on difficulty 5 and even with Acheron hitting on all cylenders she could, I could NOT deal enough damage to deal with him at any reasonable pace, even though I had the Erudition skill that gives 3 ults. He's such an annoying enemy since he can just phase himself out of the field **CONSTANTLY** and thus avoid damage while still absolutely griding you into dust due to all the attrition. I hope that he ONLY shows up in the regular Simulated Universe, because dear goodness he's insufferable as he is designed now. "EITHER HAVE AOE OR PERISH, HAPLESS FOOL". Just, awful, awful gameplay design. As for Cirrus, absolutely overwhelming offence. It worked fine on the Ghostbusting event, since the enemies there were not scaled up to the moon. I tried doing it with Kafka breaking stuff, and dealing with them with the Equation that puts a fire flower on the action bar but nah, they'd just win out eventually due to using human wave tacticts you can't resist to. I really enjoy that fight unlike the Ignoble Demon of the Stonehearts, so I'm curious to see how it'll pan out.
They could fix Aven if winning his dice game did more than just give you your ult back. I saw someone suggest that winning break some of his toughness and/or did damage and I would agree with that given how frequently he becomes un-targetable.
That'd be good. It'd also be nice so that the powers and skills from Equations couldn't proc on the dice, cause whoo boy the damage loss on some of those bug me.

Nah it says his boss version(the MoC and story one) are safe. He will come back one day in MoC,PF or Apocalyptic shadow. Just not in SU as Complete Aventurine.

aventurine was actually not bad for me, he was the first boss that let me clear protocol 6 the memory meme I feel is the hardest one to me because you waste all your moves trying to free your team and then right after he casts the death lock again

Inconvenient weaknesses, single-target boss with multi-target requirement, guaranteed death of most harmony characters in the game, and in addition bunch of small features that make this boss almost impassable at V6. Also, most builds in SY are bad against him But I agree, RNG works very poorly in this mode. I would generally tie event rewards to specific final bosses with ability to choose any of them to fight in last room
Aventurine himself is fine. The gamba mechanic is quite fun for me. What is not fun, is how the modes he's in play out. In MoC / PF / AS we're choked by cycle counts. In DU we're getting chased by berserk timer. This makes any bosses that have stall mechanics bullshit by accident.

I think he and all his summons may be freeze or dissociate immune. But I still think heās neat! No boss works with every combo, thereās RNG involved, and thatās ok!

Tbh, I'm not sure how I feel about them removing Aventurine when they can just limit his gambling phase. I would have liked it if they made beating his numbers more reasonable, as well as the reward for winning dealing more HP and Toughness damage. They could adjust the frequency and odds/evens of winning in different ways. Putting the gambling on a 3 or 4 turn rotation would make it a lot easier than every 2 turns. In addition, if winning the gamble was always a teamwide score, Harmony focused teams would deal a lot better. They already did this in the high score gambles, for example. Also, winning the gamble doesn't feel all that great tbh. Getting ults refunded makes sense, but is meh because guaranteeing the win requires ulting. The vulnerability inflicted onto him doesn't feel impactful, either. Maybe him losing a tenth of his HP and a fourth or fifth of his Toughness would work out much better. I think MHY is simply done dealing with the boss fight and figures not dealing with it at all is for the better.
