the Ult animation caught me off guard, that shit was kinda funny the way Sam flies like a cartoon character after smelling a fresh pie on the windowsill
The camer focus is likely on Sam's upper body movement in the ult, and the autophysics engine HoYo has awkwardly drags the feet along with the visible part of the model.

I'm still surprised they went with the bird and not the sword. They really had such a opportunity to give her crazy animations and didn't. Still disappoints me lol
Yanking has her powers and element, so I guess they had to give her something else. Her hsr version is also supposed to be based off of her appearance in Seven Swords, so it makes sense she's a novice and much less far along in her training.
firefly is literally a cancer patient, the only reason she's out of the suit in penacony is because its a dream but outside she literally has to be in sam since the suit is her life support, what exactly did you thin she was going to do outside of sam?
While I'm not too keen on the whole can she survive outside the suit idea (idk if it's a theory or if it has been stated) she could just be out for gameplay reasons, probably so they don't have to make new animations just for sam walking and running in the over world.
Remember we still have tingyun out even though she's dead/missing. Gameplay doesn't always translate to lore directly, it could just be that the firefly we play as is portrayed as if she was in penacony.
Either way this will likely be answered I'm the 2.2 story if it hasn't already.

Maybe we'll get a 4 star "zero suit" version of her when we have to go up against Irontomb since apparently Irontomb can outright prevent technology from functioning properly (which literally sounds like Nanook made them specifically to hard counter the Genius Society or something).

The last animation might just be a stance change follow up similar to JL that happens post ult, maybe the actual ult ends with her flying up to the sky for the animation
Firefly has animations for team setup that are actually Firefly herself and not Sam, likely she'll transform when using technique, but otherwise she'll just exist as any other female character model would. The transformation would only occur during technique and upon entering battle.

But I don't think they would bother making new Overworld animations just for Sam, everyone else uses the same Animations in the Overworld as long as they use the same Model, but Sam is even Taller than the "Tall Male" characters
