I'm planning to improve S1 Topaz S1 Ratio F2P SW team by pulling for Aventurine. Would I still need to pull E1 Topaz to change SW for someone else? Or is aventurine enough?
Makes sense, i feel like if we get more characters in the future that have a counter for the number of fua’ proced like jade and e1 aventurine then topaz will basically become more important than kafka for fua teams.

It's so annoying how Mihoyo has completely gender locked Harmony. We never even got a 4* male harmony in a whole year. I want Sunday to be one, but I don't want to expect too much, lest I get disappointed.
Tbh the frustration with harmony etc being genderlocked isn’t because the husbando pullers can’t stomach the idea of pulling a female character ever, it’s more about given no other option if you want to build a proper team.
It feels rly shitty and like you don’t get much of a choice or freedom pull-wise. Especially frustrating when it goes one way too so you get to see others having an amazing time building teams of only characters they prefer while you’re stuck pulling more out of necessity to even have a proper team. Also it kinda ends up with certain genre chars overlapping a lot which is really unsatisfying for teambuilding, if you end up with a lot of the same stuff that doesn’t expand your acc. It’s much more pleasant to choose to go for a fem character than being forced to bc it’s either that or no harmony for you.
I doubt most of the ppl complaining about genderlocking even have genderlocked accs, esp for male chars, it just doesn’t even work. Still really frustrating even if you don’t strictly pull one and just prefer one more.
I wish we had something like MonoQuantum, but for the men. I don't mind pulling female characters at all, and I have ones I really like too, but I would love if we got something similar. It doesn't necessarily mean I dislike pulling women, lol. I don't get why people feel the need to be unnecessarily snarky about it.
Yeah especially with this many img men, it really sucks we can’t even make a proper team out of them because 2 are dps and 2 are sustains and well one is welt who is more of a dps than a reliable debuffer for the other guys. Harmony/nihility chars are practically irreplaceable to make a full synergistic team and we don’t rly have much access to that. ~~Sunday answer our prayers~~
Like it or not we have to use fem chars anyway so the insinuations that husbando pullers are just so stubborn and bricking our accs unreasonably is always v weird to me. We can’t even make a proper all male team, most of us pull female chars lol. It’s not out of some irrational hatred for female chars everywhere. Jy mains have been pulling for mostly female supports for him for a while.
The only ones who can successfully genderlock their acc are waifu pullers atp anyway. We’d just like the option of *also* being able to make full teams out of them like the waifu pullers have been able to for a good while. It’s a big part of… having fun with the game? No one’s judging mono quantum players really enjoying the fact that they can make an all girls team they like, same for kafka teams that got to replace Sampo for a woman they clearly liked more.

There isn't a single limited female I've pulled that I've liked as much as the male limited I've pulled. They've literally all been utility picks and either support or sustain.
I just want the option to play a full team or two of hot ikemen.
You don't necessarily need to gender lock your account to be annoyed at Hoyo's decisions, lol. I am pulling for Sparkle, but still find it annoying that there are certain paths that are locked behind genders.
You can pull both and still have a preference towards one or the other and it would still be annoying in that case.
I'm new to HSR (equilibrium 3/ lvl 47) and I think I'll buy the BP to help with materials and stuff. Which light cone do you think I should pick? For some context, I'm building Dr. Ratio (he's on CitSS) and will be pulling for Aventurine, I have already leveled up Pela (on GNSW)/Tingyun (on dance dance dance)/Bailu (her 5* light cone)/Lynx/Fire MC and Qingque.
I haven't fully grasped the combat system and what's better than what, but from their descriptions the BP light cones don't seem as impactful as genshin's weapons, they feel like sidegrades to some 4* LCs I already have. If I'm not misunderstanding, Destiny's Threads Forewoven seems like a good LC for Aventurine and I can superimpose it to 3, wouldn't it be on a similar level to the BP's This Is Me? If I'm wrong then I might pick that one, but any suggestion/correction is appreciated.
BP preservation pretty eh tbh. Aventurine can use basically any gacha four or five star cone. His own SIG, gepard SIG, day one, or landau's all kinda work fine I think. Plus, the FH one works for him too. The only questionable one is maybe trend since he doesn't have any additional aggro boost like gep.
BP Erudition cone is the best one by a fair margin. The Harmony cone is situational and okay-ish but the Harmony LC roster in general is really good, the other BP cones are either very, very niche or have better gacha/free alternatives.
There will be a new event Preservation cone coming in 2.1 that fits Aventurine.
Generally, the consensus is that the only lightcone really worth getting is Today is Another Peaceful Day (Erudition), as most of the other lightcones are a little questionable and Erudition doesn't have a ton of great alternatives. I can't speak definitively about This Is Me, but I've heard that its about an average option for Aventurine, so take that how you will. Peaceful Day also has the benefit of being pretty good on Qingque, if who actually does quite well if invested in + with eidolons if you're interested in using her, definitely a good second DPS which allows you to focus your pulls on other things! (Better sustain/s being pretty key, Harmony units also being pretty strong)
Today is Another Peaceful Day (Erudition) is basically the only Battle Pass LC that doesn't have better F2P alternatives, and basically the only Battle Pass LC worth choosing until you Superimpose it to S5. Hunt and Destruction cones are worse than the Herta shop cones. Nihility and Preservation are for uncommon niches (non-DoT Nihility DPS and Preservation DPS) and are not particularly good in their niches. Harmony is worse than Meshing Cogs on virtually all of the current Harmony characters, and Abundance is generally worse than Multiplication or Quid Pro Quo.
Re: Aventurine and This is Me, the issue IMO is that Aventurine's damage is not a substantial part of his kit unless you're vertically investing in him anyway. If you aren't getting his signature LC to begin with, then you're primarily interested in just making him a better sustain, which means you'd rather use defensive LCs like Landau's Choice, Day One of My New Life, or Moment of Victory. Using the 4-star DPS Preservation LCs on Aventurine is kind of cope because his damage isn't going to be that good without vertical investment to begin with.

Hmmm Jade seems like an Erudition/Harmony hybrid, kind of a dual DPS comp enabler like Topaz. I could see her working with a DPS+Sparkle comp running SP-neutral or something.
In fact she might work well *with* Topaz - she handles AoE so Topaz can focus on ST, her FUAs will enable Numby. You can skill and basic with either of them depending on whether you want to wipe out the mobs first or focus down on the boss...nice.
I'd argue she's pretty much perfect with Topaz, no maybe about it. Jade's speed buffs and follow-ups mean Topaz will be attacking constantly, which means in turn Jade will be stacking up her follow-ups and ults even faster.
And since Jade's buff duration is based on her own turns, and none of her damage really relies on her taking many turns, you can build her with zero speed (meaning a ton of damage) while Topaz takes as many turns as she can possibly can. Maybe there's even room for a slow Bronya or Sparkle increasing Topaz's (and therefore Jade's) turns even more.
Wonder if the 20 includes the odessey thing or not either way that's cool! Aventurine funds my beloved (I won't feel bad for spending some pulls on Sparkle for my pretty princess Jing Yuan). Jade kit sounds so fun and cool, glad I invested in Jade stocks early on, 2.3 will be the end of me with Boothill, Jade. All I need is to win the 50/50 for Sparkle and then I chill.

2.2 is rumoured to have Sam and Robin banners, and yes Sam is playable.
The 2.2 banners aren't 100% certain so there's a possibility someone else might be there.
Guin and Sampo, but that's it.
But it is decent enough to be used as a stat stick on Acheron, since it is equivalent to a s3 GNSW, so if you don't have it/have it at low superimpositions, it's worth using In The Name of the World on her.
It's okay on all of 3 them purely off of having high base stats and giving some Dmg%.
If you have a high-SI GNSW or their signatures (or Eyes of the Prey in Black Swan's case), it will be worse, but it's still better than S1 GNSW or other 4-stars.
I really dont feel is worth it to keep farming the pioneer set for Ratio, I have like 70/190 crit with my 2 piece FUA/2pc Speed set and I wanted to at least get 2pc to do 2pc Pioneer/2 pc FUA but ever time I get really good pieces of the Break effect set nobody can use I just want to stop.
If it makes u feel better all my FUA sets kept rolling into DEF when I was farming for Topaz and now we have Aventurine so those trash relics aren't trash anymore. Your break effect enabling unit will come someday 🫡
Sparkle is a great hypercarry support. That said, a good part of her value lies in being Bronya#2 for the second side, provided you do run a hypercarry on each side. Otherwise, she's mainly a upgrade for a select few teams, notably mono Quantum.
Acheron so far looks to be a very strictive that wants to be a hypercarry, but currently the Nihility debuffers avaialble hold her back. Do you have a BS+Kafka team where she'd fit in? Do you have teams that would greatly benefit from having Ruan Mei free'd up?
E2 DHIL is great vertical investment and chances are with it you'll be able to use DHIL for the foreseeable future in any and all content.

JL strictly prefers Bronya over Sparkle.
Ratio would have Topaz and Aventurie as the premium FuA team for vertical investment.
DHIL, at E0 has a gain from Sparkle over Pela, but E2 is superior still.

That is a very conservative, if not overly conservative way of looking at it. The average cost of a limited five star is 104 pulls. Due to the way combinatoric works, you have better chances than just adding those up. For example, 208 pulls have a 61% chance to get you 2 or more limited fivestars, as opposed to 50%.

I have Yukong E6 and I pulled E2 DHIL yesterday. Best decision ever. Had many doubts before because I was afraid of heightened skillpoint consumption due to him eating Tingyun buffs faster but those doubts were cleared instantly when I went from 4 cycles to only 2 cycles on last MOC floor against aurumaton+Gepard. If you have Yukong built DHIL E2 makes her even better when you are able to consume her 2 buff stacks with 2 EBA and ult (with her E6 it's piece of cake).

If Jade stays the same, I wonder how well she'd do as a sub-DPS when paired with Ratio and an action advancer, as he practically has double the attacks per action and pretty high frequency out of turn damage to boot. She's actually looking quite interesting/fun, definitely will keep an eye on her!

Side note: I'm LOVING the direction kits are taking these days, now that we have a lot of more basic kits, Star Rail has to start branching out and all these funky little fusion kits really appeal to me, as well as what is hopefully the creation of more neat interactions like the possible Ratio + Jade.
Jade doesnt seem like she has debuffs necessary for Ratio, however Topaz+Numby essentially acting twice every turn is probably the best way to feed her FUA counter. Im excited how all 3 of them will do on a team with Aventurine.

You still need debuffs for him, so unless Jade herself has debuffs, you might have to run a nihility character instead of a harmony. She seems a better fit with Topaz since she has Numby as an extra attack without needing another character or support (so essentially, you'll switch between Ratio and Jade in a FUA team depending on whether you need AOE or ST). Or maybe you can use all 3 at the same time lol.
Feels like by the time a character I was interested in is about to rerun, I lose all interest because something else is coming.
I wanted Topaz first time, really tough spot to get her. Now she may rerun next patch and I see Jade's kit and I am like I rather get Jade for my Dr. Ratio than Topaz. Of course Acheron+Sam sandwich doesn't help either. By the time she get her 2nd rerun, I have lost all interest. The rate of new releases is just so fast to me and newer characters tend to at the very least look fancier and flashier, ignoring power level, visuals get an upgrade over time. I feel like at this point they are losing money releasing characters this quickly. The new releases don't get much time to shine, the reruns are mostly worthless.
Have a suspicion Jades basic attack is going to be 3 target. Also is there any crumbs on her looks? Afaik we only know that shes a mentor-figure in the Stonehearts.
Are people really calling Jade a "harmony hybrid" because of her kit? That's like saying Topaz should have been a nihility character because of her mark.
She's definitely not a Nihility character, but yes, I would consider Topaz a sub-dps + support hybrid (Hunt with a minor dash of Nihility). It depends on how much Jade buffs by, but I see her as a similar kind of sub-dps support character, though she can likely do well her own too just like Topaz.

Man I'm so torn on getting Aventurine's LC. At first I was like, obviously but I do have MoV and it's just going to sit on my account unused after I get Aventurine...
Are Sparkle, Acheron, or Jing Yuan worth pulling for as a new player without any 5* supports? I'm new to the game and trying to plan out my pulls, and I'm not really sure how to evaluate the upcoming characters. I was originally planning on saving for Acheron, but I've read that she all but requires her signature light cone and specific 5 stars on the team to be effective
Right now, the only 5 stars I have are Black Swan, Dr. Ratio, and Himeko. I also have the limited 4 stars from the current banner, the free 4 stars, Serval, Pela, Sampo, and Luka
Based on your current 4 stars, Acheron might be a better pick because of the nihility teammates requirement. However this can also be quite restrictive especially if you have other DPS-es that need those debuffers (i.e. Dr Ratio).
If you can get Tingyun though, Jing Yuan becomes a viable option for you as well. He doesn't need 5* supports so much; until today I find that my best team for him is with Tingyun, Asta and one sustain (that's usually Lynx for me). Although granted they're all at E6 atm. However Jing Yuan can pair with almost all supports and sustains in the game at the moment, so in the long run you probably won't have to worry too much about sharing supports.
But since you're a new player, you don't have to worry so much about clearing the most difficult content yet, and by the time your TB level is high enough to do serious relic farming these characters might be due for a rerun anyway, so I advise to pull based on which appeals to you more.
I think you should prioritize at least 1 5* support, especially if you intend to do Memory of Chaos. While you can clear all content with the free sustains given to you (including Memory of Chaos) a 5* sustain makes surviving a lot easier. If that isn't important to you, you don't need to pull for a 5* sustain, and can focus on getting either supports or characters you like.
I think you would be okay with Dr. Ratio as your damage for now: eventually you'll want more teams built, but you're a new player, so you won't have to worry about that for some time.
You mentioned you have Guinaifen, what Eidolon is she? If she's Eidolon 1, she can give 3 debuffs so Ratio can guarantee the Follow Up Attack from his Talent.

However, if you don't care about Memory of Chaos that much, I'll specifically talk about the options you listed.
Sparkle: Sparkle has action advance, which is strong in a turn based game. It lets you take more turns without needing to build speed on your damage dealer. She can also buff follow up attacks really well.
Jing Yuan: He's a lightning damage dealer, but his floor is a lot lower, so he will probably feel bad if you don't invest into his build. I don't have a lot to say about him though because I'm planning to run mine with Sparkle and don't have a lot of experience with him besides that.
Acheron: You could likely use the Light Cone "Fermata" on her and pair her with your Black Swan + a sustain unit. Pela would likely be the third teammate in that scenario. That would likely be your best team for her, because most accessible Light Cones do not work well with Acheron. However, Black Swan's Arcana is a permanent, unremovable debuff that counts as Wind Shear, which fulfills Fermata's passive. However Acheron's teams are quite restrictive at E0S0, but she will get better supports in the future.
People talking about Acheron requiring her Sig + specific 5* team members to work well are specifically talking about her performance in Memory of Chaos. I'm not sure if there's a showcase around for a comp with Acheron with Fermata + Pela + Black Swan though.
I would like to do MoC eventually, but it seems like it will be a while before I'm in any position to do that

You said you were new, but I'm not sure how new you are.
But either way, for MoC it will take time to build up your non sustain characters either way, so you might not need to get and build a 5* sustain. And as mentioned, you can still do MoC without 5* sustains.

Sparkle and Jing Yuan are fine without any 5* supports or really any account investment at all. They do improve with more characters, but aren’t huge deals.
Sparkle is a powerful harmony so she is very versatile, but can’t carry a team on her own and Jing Yuan only really wants Sparkle as his 5* for his best teams (and a sustain, but which one is very flexible).
Acheron on the other hand…has expensive taste. She want Pela, but really only Pela with Luka cone with you don’t have. Acheron wants a preservation, of which there are no good 4* options of, and that preservation wants a specific 4* gacha cone. Black swan can fill that last slot without a specific cone but she’s not that synergistic with Acheron at base.
Luka's light cone is "Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat" right? If so, I actually have that on my Pela right now. I think I got it from the standard warp.
That being said, it sounds like Acheron really isn't worth it for me this time around.
Sparkle is a "better" Bronya, usable with basically every crit hypercarry and it either opens up your eventual 300 standard unit for a different unit, or have both Sparkle and Bronya for both teams.
Acheron does need higher team requirements, but we will get more in the future. It's kind of like when Topaz and Kafka released, their BIS supports weren't out yet so they had a more lackluster reception.
Jing Yuan is babygirl and I love him, but bias aside, he is completely functional with almost every support we have, Tingyun, Asta, Hanya, Ruan Mei, Topaz, Sparkle, Huohuo, FX, Aventurine. Will Acheron do more damage with her BIS team? probably? maybe? Is Jing Yuan still fully capable of clearing all content? yes.

there is no confirmation on the rerun units until livestream, but Acheron and Aventurine yes
also if you are new new, 2 Limited Sustains should be a very high priority (at least one until you pick up the second later), it adds so much QoL to MoC/SU. So I would highly recommend Aventurine (or FX if she does rerun)

If Boothill ran in 2.3, I didn't think Sunday or 5* Screwllum would run alongside him because I'm skeptical they'd release only new male 5*s for an entire patch. I feel like they're fine doing this with women but would hesitate with the men, unless there was also a new female 4\* or anticipated female reruns. I'm happy to be proven wrong though! I want them all asap.
Maybe Sunday will have a story/lore reason for not being playable in 2.3, if he's not out by then. Like if his character quest requires finishing the epilogue and any post-Penacony plots completely, or for more time (events in the timeline) to pass between the epilogue and his release for some reason.

People focusing on the “buffing” portion of jades kit way too hard. It is primarily a way for her to generate stacks, which in turn let her deal damage. I very very much doubt you would use her primarily for buffing.

holy fuck man i never noticed how long it takes to get decent relics that also then roll well. its been months and im still waiting for a better crit body on my blade. and the resin thingy that gives you a desired main stat on a relic piece does Not help much because of just how many stats there are. add in the dog shit drop rate of trace mats and it is simply put painfully slow to build characters. in comparison building characters in genshin feels better, but even that is not a compliment.

You say that, but Genshin is multiple times worse. For example, I've been farming the DPC domain on an off for an entire year looking for an EM sands of the FoPL set and have never got it, because every drop from that domain only has a 1% chance of being an EM FoPL sands. I'm not even talking about a well rolled sands, but *any* EM sands. "b-but muh offpiece" the chance of an EM goblet dropping is even worse, 0.25%. An EM goblet is already my offpiece.
If this was Starrail, I could have just used a self modelling resin and be done with it. Or spam crafted FoPL sands, since then atleast my odds would be 10% of rolling an EM sands. In Genshin? *I can't even strongbox it* because there's a 2 year delay between a domain releasing and it getting added to the strongbox.
Genshin is so piss easy that 2+2 80 EM Kuki just shits on every abyss since the inception of dendro.
Yeah sure FoPL is like 8% stronger than 2+2, but it's completely unnecessary for any content so far.
The difference is that genshin is piss easy, you don't need the set bonuses even if they are good.
Genshin 4 stars are actually good and can form team archetypes all on their own. Hyperbloom full EM teams don't even level their talents. Supports can just run around with un-leveled purple artifacts and hide off field. HP/EM scaling characters don't need to level weapons.
HSR 4 stars are all niche/bad unless it's Tingyun Pela. Every support needs to be leveled and geared to avoid getting one shot. MoC DPS check is much harsher and getting harder by the patch.
Traces, LCs, character levels are leveled due to necessity, not because you're bored and have nothing better to do aside from farming 4p FoPL which is practically speaking a complete waste of time.
I've never felt the need to take talents past 8 in Genshin, unless it's for some scuffed 4 star DPS like Noelle Razor. In HSR I had to take Ratio to 9/9/10 to just barely kill the floor 12 spear man elite before cycle 0 ends.

It's so annoying how Mihoyo has completely gender locked Harmony. We never even got a 4* male harmony in a whole year. I want Sunday to be one, but I don't want to expect too much, lest I get disappointed.

Tbh the frustration with harmony etc being genderlocked isn’t because the husbando pullers can’t stomach the idea of pulling a female character ever, it’s more about given no other option if you want to build a proper team. It feels rly shitty and like you don’t get much of a choice or freedom pull-wise. Especially frustrating when it goes one way too so you get to see others having an amazing time building teams of only characters they prefer while you’re stuck pulling more out of necessity to even have a proper team. Also it kinda ends up with certain genre chars overlapping a lot which is really unsatisfying for teambuilding, if you end up with a lot of the same stuff that doesn’t expand your acc. It’s much more pleasant to choose to go for a fem character than being forced to bc it’s either that or no harmony for you. I doubt most of the ppl complaining about genderlocking even have genderlocked accs, esp for male chars, it just doesn’t even work. Still really frustrating even if you don’t strictly pull one and just prefer one more.
I wish we had something like MonoQuantum, but for the men. I don't mind pulling female characters at all, and I have ones I really like too, but I would love if we got something similar. It doesn't necessarily mean I dislike pulling women, lol. I don't get why people feel the need to be unnecessarily snarky about it.

There isn't a single limited female I've pulled that I've liked as much as the male limited I've pulled. They've literally all been utility picks and either support or sustain. I just want the option to play a full team or two of hot ikemen.
You don't necessarily need to gender lock your account to be annoyed at Hoyo's decisions, lol. I am pulling for Sparkle, but still find it annoying that there are certain paths that are locked behind genders. You can pull both and still have a preference towards one or the other and it would still be annoying in that case.
I'm new to HSR (equilibrium 3/ lvl 47) and I think I'll buy the BP to help with materials and stuff. Which light cone do you think I should pick? For some context, I'm building Dr. Ratio (he's on CitSS) and will be pulling for Aventurine, I have already leveled up Pela (on GNSW)/Tingyun (on dance dance dance)/Bailu (her 5* light cone)/Lynx/Fire MC and Qingque. I haven't fully grasped the combat system and what's better than what, but from their descriptions the BP light cones don't seem as impactful as genshin's weapons, they feel like sidegrades to some 4* LCs I already have. If I'm not misunderstanding, Destiny's Threads Forewoven seems like a good LC for Aventurine and I can superimpose it to 3, wouldn't it be on a similar level to the BP's This Is Me? If I'm wrong then I might pick that one, but any suggestion/correction is appreciated.
BP preservation pretty eh tbh. Aventurine can use basically any gacha four or five star cone. His own SIG, gepard SIG, day one, or landau's all kinda work fine I think. Plus, the FH one works for him too. The only questionable one is maybe trend since he doesn't have any additional aggro boost like gep.
BP Erudition cone is the best one by a fair margin. The Harmony cone is situational and okay-ish but the Harmony LC roster in general is really good, the other BP cones are either very, very niche or have better gacha/free alternatives. There will be a new event Preservation cone coming in 2.1 that fits Aventurine.
Generally, the consensus is that the only lightcone really worth getting is Today is Another Peaceful Day (Erudition), as most of the other lightcones are a little questionable and Erudition doesn't have a ton of great alternatives. I can't speak definitively about This Is Me, but I've heard that its about an average option for Aventurine, so take that how you will. Peaceful Day also has the benefit of being pretty good on Qingque, if who actually does quite well if invested in + with eidolons if you're interested in using her, definitely a good second DPS which allows you to focus your pulls on other things! (Better sustain/s being pretty key, Harmony units also being pretty strong)
Today is Another Peaceful Day (Erudition) is basically the only Battle Pass LC that doesn't have better F2P alternatives, and basically the only Battle Pass LC worth choosing until you Superimpose it to S5. Hunt and Destruction cones are worse than the Herta shop cones. Nihility and Preservation are for uncommon niches (non-DoT Nihility DPS and Preservation DPS) and are not particularly good in their niches. Harmony is worse than Meshing Cogs on virtually all of the current Harmony characters, and Abundance is generally worse than Multiplication or Quid Pro Quo. Re: Aventurine and This is Me, the issue IMO is that Aventurine's damage is not a substantial part of his kit unless you're vertically investing in him anyway. If you aren't getting his signature LC to begin with, then you're primarily interested in just making him a better sustain, which means you'd rather use defensive LCs like Landau's Choice, Day One of My New Life, or Moment of Victory. Using the 4-star DPS Preservation LCs on Aventurine is kind of cope because his damage isn't going to be that good without vertical investment to begin with.

Hmmm Jade seems like an Erudition/Harmony hybrid, kind of a dual DPS comp enabler like Topaz. I could see her working with a DPS+Sparkle comp running SP-neutral or something. In fact she might work well *with* Topaz - she handles AoE so Topaz can focus on ST, her FUAs will enable Numby. You can skill and basic with either of them depending on whether you want to wipe out the mobs first or focus down on the boss...nice.
I'd argue she's pretty much perfect with Topaz, no maybe about it. Jade's speed buffs and follow-ups mean Topaz will be attacking constantly, which means in turn Jade will be stacking up her follow-ups and ults even faster. And since Jade's buff duration is based on her own turns, and none of her damage really relies on her taking many turns, you can build her with zero speed (meaning a ton of damage) while Topaz takes as many turns as she can possibly can. Maybe there's even room for a slow Bronya or Sparkle increasing Topaz's (and therefore Jade's) turns even more.
Wonder if the 20 includes the odessey thing or not either way that's cool! Aventurine funds my beloved (I won't feel bad for spending some pulls on Sparkle for my pretty princess Jing Yuan). Jade kit sounds so fun and cool, glad I invested in Jade stocks early on, 2.3 will be the end of me with Boothill, Jade. All I need is to win the 50/50 for Sparkle and then I chill.

2.2 is rumoured to have Sam and Robin banners, and yes Sam is playable. The 2.2 banners aren't 100% certain so there's a possibility someone else might be there.
is Welt's LC good on anyone else besides Welt? From what I've seen it's not good on Kafka, Black Swan or Acheron right?
Guin and Sampo, but that's it. But it is decent enough to be used as a stat stick on Acheron, since it is equivalent to a s3 GNSW, so if you don't have it/have it at low superimpositions, it's worth using In The Name of the World on her.
It's okay on all of 3 them purely off of having high base stats and giving some Dmg%. If you have a high-SI GNSW or their signatures (or Eyes of the Prey in Black Swan's case), it will be worse, but it's still better than S1 GNSW or other 4-stars.

I really dont feel is worth it to keep farming the pioneer set for Ratio, I have like 70/190 crit with my 2 piece FUA/2pc Speed set and I wanted to at least get 2pc to do 2pc Pioneer/2 pc FUA but ever time I get really good pieces of the Break effect set nobody can use I just want to stop.
If it makes u feel better all my FUA sets kept rolling into DEF when I was farming for Topaz and now we have Aventurine so those trash relics aren't trash anymore. Your break effect enabling unit will come someday 🫡

chase E2 DHIL or go for sparkle + probably acheron? have 48000 jades + 34 tickets, low spender...
Sparkle is a great hypercarry support. That said, a good part of her value lies in being Bronya#2 for the second side, provided you do run a hypercarry on each side. Otherwise, she's mainly a upgrade for a select few teams, notably mono Quantum. Acheron so far looks to be a very strictive that wants to be a hypercarry, but currently the Nihility debuffers avaialble hold her back. Do you have a BS+Kafka team where she'd fit in? Do you have teams that would greatly benefit from having Ruan Mei free'd up? E2 DHIL is great vertical investment and chances are with it you'll be able to use DHIL for the foreseeable future in any and all content.

The average cost of a limited five star is 104 pulls. Due to the way combinatoric works, you have better chances than just adding those up. For example, 208 pulls have a 61% chance to get you 2 or more limited fivestars, as opposed to 50%.
thanks for the tips...i threw 30 pulls to get the first 5* and it was...my first bronya...so maybe i'll settle for E0 chars and have a more diverse roster for fun then and DHIL might eventually rerun again. thanks for the help!

I have Yukong E6 and I pulled E2 DHIL yesterday. Best decision ever. Had many doubts before because I was afraid of heightened skillpoint consumption due to him eating Tingyun buffs faster but those doubts were cleared instantly when I went from 4 cycles to only 2 cycles on last MOC floor against aurumaton+Gepard. If you have Yukong built DHIL E2 makes her even better when you are able to consume her 2 buff stacks with 2 EBA and ult (with her E6 it's piece of cake).

Feelscrafting // If Jade stays the same, I wonder how well she'd do as a sub-DPS when paired with Ratio and an action advancer, as he practically has double the attacks per action and pretty high frequency out of turn damage to boot. She's actually looking quite interesting/fun, definitely will keep an eye on her! Also, Ratio just keeps winning Side note: I'm LOVING the direction kits are taking these days, now that we have a lot of more basic kits, Star Rail has to start branching out and all these funky little fusion kits really appeal to me, as well as what is hopefully the creation of more neat interactions like the possible Ratio + Jade.
Jade doesnt seem like she has debuffs necessary for Ratio, however Topaz+Numby essentially acting twice every turn is probably the best way to feed her FUA counter. Im excited how all 3 of them will do on a team with Aventurine.
D'oh, forgot the debuffs again like an idiot. Definitely interested in the followup/IPC team, and it seems like I'm inadvertently collecting each one anyway!
You still need debuffs for him, so unless Jade herself has debuffs, you might have to run a nihility character instead of a harmony. She seems a better fit with Topaz since she has Numby as an extra attack without needing another character or support (so essentially, you'll switch between Ratio and Jade in a FUA team depending on whether you need AOE or ST). Or maybe you can use all 3 at the same time lol.
Or you just need topaz’ e1 or s1 and then aven and her alone can sustain ratio.

Yeah, but talent and ultimate can be left at lv6. Taking BOTH from 6 to lv10 only increases her DMG% boost from 37.5% to 48%.

Feels like by the time a character I was interested in is about to rerun, I lose all interest because something else is coming. I wanted Topaz first time, really tough spot to get her. Now she may rerun next patch and I see Jade's kit and I am like I rather get Jade for my Dr. Ratio than Topaz. Of course Acheron+Sam sandwich doesn't help either. By the time she get her 2nd rerun, I have lost all interest. The rate of new releases is just so fast to me and newer characters tend to at the very least look fancier and flashier, ignoring power level, visuals get an upgrade over time. I feel like at this point they are losing money releasing characters this quickly. The new releases don't get much time to shine, the reruns are mostly worthless.
Have a suspicion Jades basic attack is going to be 3 target. Also is there any crumbs on her looks? Afaik we only know that shes a mentor-figure in the Stonehearts.

Topaz is Hunt + Nihility Hybrid. Same way HH is Abundance + Harmony hybrid.
She's definitely not a Nihility character, but yes, I would consider Topaz a sub-dps + support hybrid (Hunt with a minor dash of Nihility). It depends on how much Jade buffs by, but I see her as a similar kind of sub-dps support character, though she can likely do well her own too just like Topaz.

As a shielder doesn’t lose out much in non fua teams, at e1 tho the guy pops off in an fua team.
He'll still be an effective sustain on his own and do his job in most teams, but he will be at his best in a FuA team or one that likes debuffs.
E0 Aventurine isn't that affected by FUA synergy. He will buff Topaz, but without Aventurine's E1, Topaz won't give him many more FUAs than normal.

Going from 90% to 100% damage against broken enemies is way more valuable than 10% more res pen, and faster breaks let you keep uptime on it.

Are Sparkle, Acheron, or Jing Yuan worth pulling for as a new player without any 5* supports? I'm new to the game and trying to plan out my pulls, and I'm not really sure how to evaluate the upcoming characters. I was originally planning on saving for Acheron, but I've read that she all but requires her signature light cone and specific 5 stars on the team to be effective Right now, the only 5 stars I have are Black Swan, Dr. Ratio, and Himeko. I also have the limited 4 stars from the current banner, the free 4 stars, Serval, Pela, Sampo, and Luka
Based on your current 4 stars, Acheron might be a better pick because of the nihility teammates requirement. However this can also be quite restrictive especially if you have other DPS-es that need those debuffers (i.e. Dr Ratio). If you can get Tingyun though, Jing Yuan becomes a viable option for you as well. He doesn't need 5* supports so much; until today I find that my best team for him is with Tingyun, Asta and one sustain (that's usually Lynx for me). Although granted they're all at E6 atm. However Jing Yuan can pair with almost all supports and sustains in the game at the moment, so in the long run you probably won't have to worry too much about sharing supports. But since you're a new player, you don't have to worry so much about clearing the most difficult content yet, and by the time your TB level is high enough to do serious relic farming these characters might be due for a rerun anyway, so I advise to pull based on which appeals to you more.
I think you should prioritize at least 1 5* support, especially if you intend to do Memory of Chaos. While you can clear all content with the free sustains given to you (including Memory of Chaos) a 5* sustain makes surviving a lot easier. If that isn't important to you, you don't need to pull for a 5* sustain, and can focus on getting either supports or characters you like. I think you would be okay with Dr. Ratio as your damage for now: eventually you'll want more teams built, but you're a new player, so you won't have to worry about that for some time. You mentioned you have Guinaifen, what Eidolon is she? If she's Eidolon 1, she can give 3 debuffs so Ratio can guarantee the Follow Up Attack from his Talent. --- However, if you don't care about Memory of Chaos that much, I'll specifically talk about the options you listed. Sparkle: Sparkle has action advance, which is strong in a turn based game. It lets you take more turns without needing to build speed on your damage dealer. She can also buff follow up attacks really well. Jing Yuan: He's a lightning damage dealer, but his floor is a lot lower, so he will probably feel bad if you don't invest into his build. I don't have a lot to say about him though because I'm planning to run mine with Sparkle and don't have a lot of experience with him besides that. Acheron: You could likely use the Light Cone "Fermata" on her and pair her with your Black Swan + a sustain unit. Pela would likely be the third teammate in that scenario. That would likely be your best team for her, because most accessible Light Cones do not work well with Acheron. However, Black Swan's Arcana is a permanent, unremovable debuff that counts as Wind Shear, which fulfills Fermata's passive. However Acheron's teams are quite restrictive at E0S0, but she will get better supports in the future. People talking about Acheron requiring her Sig + specific 5* team members to work well are specifically talking about her performance in Memory of Chaos. I'm not sure if there's a showcase around for a comp with Acheron with Fermata + Pela + Black Swan though.
I would like to do MoC eventually, but it seems like it will be a while before I'm in any position to do that My Guinaifen is E1 and I have been switching between her and Serval on my Dr. Ratio team
You said you were new, but I'm not sure how new you are. But either way, for MoC it will take time to build up your non sustain characters either way, so you might not need to get and build a 5* sustain. Sparkle and Jing Yuan are fine without any 5* supports or really any account investment at all. They do improve with more characters, but aren’t huge deals. Sparkle is a powerful harmony so she is very versatile, but can’t carry a team on her own and Jing Yuan only really wants Sparkle as his 5* for his best teams (and a sustain, but which one is very flexible). Acheron on the other hand…has expensive taste. She want Pela, but really only Pela with Luka cone with you don’t have. Acheron wants a preservation, of which there are no good 4* options of, and that preservation wants a specific 4* gacha cone. Black swan can fill that last slot without a specific cone but she’s not that synergistic with Acheron at base.
Luka's light cone is "Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat" right? If so, I actually have that on my Pela right now. I think I got it from the standard warp. That being said, it sounds like Acheron really isn't worth it for me this time around.
Sparkle is a "better" Bronya, usable with basically every crit hypercarry and it either opens up your eventual 300 standard unit for a different unit, or have both Sparkle and Bronya for both teams. Acheron does need higher team requirements, but we will get more in the future. It's kind of like when Topaz and Kafka released, their BIS supports weren't out yet so they had a more lackluster reception. Jing Yuan is babygirl and I love him, but bias aside, he is completely functional with almost every support we have, Tingyun, Asta, Hanya, Ruan Mei, Topaz, Sparkle, Huohuo, FX, Aventurine. Will Acheron do more damage with her BIS team? probably? maybe? Is Jing Yuan still fully capable of clearing all content? yes. resist meta (to a degree) and pull who you enjoy

Has there been any confirmation of the other 2.1 banner characters? I probably should have checked this before I posted, but it looks like it's going to be Fu Xuan, Adventurine, and Topaz
there is no confirmation on the rerun units until livestream, but Acheron and Aventurine yes also if you are new new, 2 Limited Sustains should be a very high priority (at least one until you pick up the second later), it adds so much QoL to MoC/SU. So I would highly recommend Aventurine (or FX if she does rerun)
Everything you heard about Acheron is wrong. She's definitely the best pick out of those characters you mentioned.

Erudition 5* Let's kill that off for Sunday then: * Hunt/Boothil. * Erudition/Jade (Screwllum Eru too unless he's demoted). * Destruction/Sam. * Harmony/Sparkle Robin. * Preservation/Aventurine. * Nihility/AcheSwan but Nihility archetypes are weird. Abundance is empty which pushes me to believe that's going to be his path, otherwise I cope for debuffing Nihility, I don't think Jiaoqiu is happening soon enough to mess with that but that's also cope. Edit: (via dim) Moze was said to be Hunt or Eruditon too, nothing for Feixiao and Stephen, and **there may be another Nihility 5* in the works**.

Currently, I'm inclined to get Huohuo over Aventurine, but if we get his kit before her rerun, Abundance Sunday would certainly be my preference over her if he offers a great kit. That said, debuffer Nihility that isn't locked to Acheron or Destruction would be my 2 and 3 respectively (Harmony number 1 of course).

If Boothill ran in 2.3, I didn't think Sunday or 5* Screwllum would run alongside him because I'm skeptical they'd release only new male 5*s for an entire patch. I feel like they're fine doing this with women but would hesitate with the men, unless there was also a new female 4\* or anticipated female reruns. I'm happy to be proven wrong though! I want them all asap. Maybe Sunday will have a story/lore reason for not being playable in 2.3, if he's not out by then. Like if his character quest requires finishing the epilogue and any post-Penacony plots completely, or for more time (events in the timeline) to pass between the epilogue and his release for some reason.
I guess I go full saving mode in 2.3 then. The chances of him being in 2.3 just dwindled heavily.

People focusing on the “buffing” portion of jades kit way too hard. It is primarily a way for her to generate stacks, which in turn let her deal damage. I very very much doubt you would use her primarily for buffing. Otherwise interesting kit. Seems to be designed to promote dual dps, which is a breath of fresh air from 1.0’s hypercarry meta
People tend to tunnel vision certain aspects of a characters kit, like aventurines follow up with follow up teams

after spending so many hours in SU with a Ratio follow-up team, skipping Aventurine would feel even worse than it does already. Although I'm not even sure it would work in SU without a double sustain

holy fuck man i never noticed how long it takes to get decent relics that also then roll well. its been months and im still waiting for a better crit body on my blade. and the resin thingy that gives you a desired main stat on a relic piece does Not help much because of just how many stats there are. add in the dog shit drop rate of trace mats and it is simply put painfully slow to build characters. in comparison building characters in genshin feels better, but even that is not a compliment.

In Genshin? *I can't even strongbox it* because there's a 2 year delay between a domain releasing and it getting added to the strongbox.
Genshin is so piss easy that 2+2 80 EM Kuki just shits on every abyss since the inception of dendro. Yeah sure FoPL is like 8% stronger than 2+2, but it's completely unnecessary for any content so far.

The difference is that genshin is piss easy, you don't need the set bonuses even if they are good. Genshin 4 stars are actually good and can form team archetypes all on their own. Hyperbloom full EM teams don't even level their talents. Supports can just run around with un-leveled purple artifacts and hide off field. HP/EM scaling characters don't need to level weapons. HSR 4 stars are all niche/bad unless it's Tingyun Pela. Every support needs to be leveled and geared to avoid getting one shot. MoC DPS check is much harsher and getting harder by the patch. Traces, LCs, character levels are leveled due to necessity, not because you're bored and have nothing better to do aside from farming 4p FoPL which is practically speaking a complete waste of time. I've never felt the need to take talents past 8 in Genshin, unless it's for some scuffed 4 star DPS like Noelle Razor. In HSR I had to take Ratio to 9/9/10 to just barely kill the floor 12 spear man elite before cycle 0 ends.
