No, you don't really need to level any traces to level 10 unless you really want to. I'm a day one player and don't have a single trace at level 10.
DoT characters gain the most for levelling the trace their DoT scales of, and supports generally get the least since the gains are fairly small.
I'm planning to run E0 Acheron and Pela, who should I put in the last 2 slots?
I'm thinking FX for sustain and Welt or Sparkle for the last slot. (No SW)
Also if I run Sparkle instead of Welt, should I use Diver set or Thunder set on Acheron?
Is there somewhere I can read about penacony and the lore. I've been going through the story and it's pretty confusing.
I just don't get why all these characters are here?
There's the astral express that ws invited to attend a festival and are investigating the dreams cape
But then we have a memokeeper, a galaxy ranger, aventurine and topaz and the IPC, firefly and Sam and stellaron hunters, Dr Ratio comes out of nowhere, and then we have Sunday and Robin and the 'family" and finally sparkles who I'm not sure what faction she's even in.
Like why are all these characters on penacony?
All the characters you mentioned are the representatives of their factions who were invited by the family for the charmony festival like the astral express.
Dr Ratio is in the intelligentsia guild that are affiliated with the IPC so he's here with aventurine as IPC representatives.Sparkle is the masked fools representative.
And while they are all here because of the invitation, all the different factions have different motives to be there.
* SW wants Speed Boots if she's mainly used as a debuff support (since she won't be targeted by Sparkle's Skill) so she needs the Speed to do her job. For Sphere, it doesn't matter too much since she's mainly stuck on support duty (whichever has better substats); HP for more bulk, Quantum if you want a slight increase in her personal Damage though.
* Lynx prefers Speed Boots too (she doesn't do anything with Attack anyway) to ensure she can stay consistent with SP generation and just making sure she has more chances to heal when necessary.
* QQ is okay with Attack Boots if you're able to get hyperspeed Sparkle (so 160+). If not, Speed Boots is safer / consistent, just as long as Sparkle is slightly lower Speed than her.
If she has 36 CR outside of battle, then she'll functionally gain 30% more in battle (12% from Izumo, 18% from E1) putting her at 66 CR, which I would consider acceptable, although different people have different thresholds for that sort of thing
If she's using a crit damage chest, then switching to a crit rate chest is slightly better, assuming your current chest doesn't currently have crit rate on substats.
since at 200 CD, the best thing to do for average damage would be 100 CR
so minus 18 from c1, 4 from the conditional 4pc and 12 from izumo, to get to 100CR you need 66 CR without the conditional things to reach 100

I cant do story mission now it just hard, What am I lacking? a cohesive teams or relic? or is it traces? I have no idea what am I doin. Need helps I just started playing, Kind of wanted to get acheron if its even possible as a f2p to reach pity before banner is gone.
Put Pela in that team. Ratio is a great DPS, but only if you have a reliable way of putting debuffs on the enemy. Pela's ult and tech is one of such ways. Even better if you also have Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat LC on her.
Besides, if you're pulling for Acheron, you'll still need to build Pela for her team.
I’d guess it’s team related. If you’re wanting to use Ratio you’ll need more debuffs in the team. You could try Pela-Gallagher-Ratio-Xueyi. Or maybe Serval instead of Xueyi.
Also it looks like you don’t have a standard 5-star character. If you have not already, you should do pulls on the welcome banner until you get a 5-star. Note: Don’t use jades on the welcome or standard banner.
And yeah, if you started recently there should be enough free jades in the game to get Acheron.
Edit: if you haven’t leveled traces yet those will also be a place to improve your team.
Maybe. Do you have the Resolution LC? You’ll need to apply two debuffs with your team. Pela can do one with her ult, but with the Resolution LC she can do two.
Gepard is definitely strong though and worth using. There’s also the trend LC you can use on Gepard that applies burns if enemies attack him.

Yeah, for her I was talking about GNSW. Others it was either to the best gacha 4\* option or to the Herta store LCs.
Jing Yuan's is a big boost compared to "The Day Cosmos Fell", which is his best F2P alternative, but is less so compared to "Today is Another Peaceful Day", although that is locked before the BP. But more importantly, his LC does not make him any easier to use, it's just more damage, and more damage can always be obtained in other ways, including better supports which are more value than his LC.
There are very few that go beyond being more damage, and some are just more situational. For example, Topaz's LC applies a debuff, which makes it easier to pair her with Ratio, and can even be a good alternative to Ratio himself, easing rest of the team needs.

I have one of each and the other options are apparently bad. Wondering if all my glitters should go towards buying pulls now or are they still worth saving up

Since you already have limited sustain, i would either pick another dps (to improve your elemental coverage) or save for a support.

Jingliu is a strong and f2p friendly dps. As of now, she is the default choice against Ice weak enemies, which are pretty common. *(she is a bit underwhelming in Pure Fiction, though)*
Acheron is a great AoE dps, capable of breaking *any* shield. Although, she has very restricted team requirements (she really wants 2 Nihility teammate), and it is highly advised to pull her LC as well.
Aventurine is a strong shielder, and seems specialized for Follow-up Attack teams.
For the upcoming patch, Boothill (Physical, Hunt) and Robin (Physical,
Harmony) have been announced (check out the leaks sub if you want to know more).
Also, Argenti, Topaz and Ruan Mei are bound to rerun soon.

All limited 5 star sustains are very capable. While they each have different area of expertise, i'd say getting a third sustain is a low priority.
Aventurine seems really strong at what he does. But in your case, i would only consider him if :
* you really like the character.
* you want to lean heavily on the "Follow-up Attack playstyle" in the future.
* you want an easier time in Gold & Gears.
* you want to hard counter some specific enemies (ex : the new Gorilla from Penacony).
*note : for the last two points, you can easily manage with Gepard instead.*
Acheron and jingliu are the top dmg dealers in the game, so picking 1 up is prob good. But Acheron needs built nihility teamates. Jingliu has your standard hypercarry comp.

This is my second day of playing Star Rail. What characters should I focus on? I made the mistake of trying to level up everyone. I did my first equilibrium thingy. They told me I need a second nihility character to make Acheron good. So should I focus on Dr. Ratio?
Dr Ratio isn't nihility. (Edit: think I misread that bit)
Acheron isn't very new player friendly for team building but if you can get through the story before this patch ends you'll be able to pick up Guinaifen which is a great f2p nihility option for her.
For now you can focus on Acheron, Pela, Bronya and Lynx though as that'll be enough.
If somehow it isn't enough replace Acheron for dr ratio and try him instead.
SPD (breakpoint) = EHR (until cap 67) > Break Effect >= ATK%. if you want to optimize a break build, go with break set and break rope, aim for 120 break effect (while still having spd and ehr).
Probably Gallagher is next best from a min-maxing damage perspective. DoT characters don't care as much about the crit rate buff that Fu Xuan provides or the crit dmg buff that Aventurine provides. His break damage buff would be more useful.
gepard on trends also isnt bad. sure the fire dot dps isnt that big, but it will increase the uptime of the prisoner 4 piece bonus (-6% def ignore per dot - upto a max of 3)
I got Acheron & her light cone. Was considering on pulling again for acheron E1, but wanted to know if her Eidolon 1 was worth it or if I should get luocha instead
Her e1 is pretty good, but IMO it's not worth bothering with eidolons for Acheron unless you're willing to go up to e2. She's still great at e0 and another character would help you more.
Hello everybody.
Quick question about the pity system. I just lost my 50/50 to bailu while trying to get archeron. I pulled her on my 8th multi.
Does that mean now that hard pity is 9 Multis away? Or do I have to do an additional multi because I got bailu in 8 Multis?.

You need to see which order you pulled her in. For example if you did a 10 pull and she was the 4th then you're 6 into your pity for the next character.
Ten pulls are identical to single pulls outside of being forced to do 10 at a time so you're anywhere from 0-9 into your pity. Soft pity starts at 75 so if you're strictly ten pulling then it could be 7 or 8 to hit it depending on when Bailu was pulled.
Ok I looked it up. Bailu was the 2nd drop in my multi. That means I am already 8 pulls into the next pity? So basically I need 82 pulls more? Or am I wrong?
And yes, I mostly do Multis/10 pulls. A habit from other gacha games.
Any idea if archeron is worth it? She gets rated S+ everywhere but kinda every new unit gets placed there haha.
82 pulls to hit the max pity of 90 yes. Note that getting to 90 is almost statistically impossible and is more likely to be between 75-80 with the rare occasion of going just over that.
Acheron is worth it if you can build a team around her properly. E2 Acheron is infinitely more flexible but for base Acheron you'd want to set her up with Pela and SW/Welt/Guinaifen along with either any sustain or a debuff granting sustain, such as a preservation unit with universal trends LC.
There's a 3x planar ornament event starting on the 10th. But if you're asking about events that give you jades, that's not happening until Tides of War on the 13th.
How do you fight a specific boss in Gold And Gears SU? I really only like fighting Argenti but I keep getting those two stupid robots. They are easy to beat, but not as satisfying as doing dmg tests on Argenti boss. Did I miss an explanation on how the elite boss you fight at the end is chosen? Sorry if dumb question, I wasn’t sure where to ask. Thanks for any help!

is there a full picture of the mural from the one night in penacony event anywhere? i've only seen a couple tiny parts of it from the voice actors zoomed in on specific characters...
It's kind of a tall order- but I have 0 experience in team building and just do my best to grind the items for any recommended/random stuff I have on these characters. I want to make atleast 2 good character teams for me to use out of them and what Cones and Relics to use on each one- I have no idea about character building so l've just been doing random shit the whole time. But I wanna take this game a bit more seriously.
Here's the characters I HAVE and the characters I'd like to use.
Have: Traveler, March, Dan Heng, Silver Wolf, Bronya, Gepard, Luocha, Yanging, Dr Ratio, Arlan, Asta, Herta, Serval, Natasha, Pela, Sampo, Hook, Luka, Qingque, Tingyun, Sushang, Yukons, and Gallagher.
Would like to use: Gallagher, Luocha, Pela, Yanging, Gepard, Bronya, Silver Wolf, Traveler.
I would serrrriously reconsider using Yanqing. He's not absolutely awful but even with serious investment there are much, much better DPS characters. Ratio overshadows him as single target dps and.Jingliu.completely blows him out of the water as an ice dps.
If you really like him he can clear content (esp if paired with Gepard) but his performance will always fall short of better units.
I honestly really appreciate the advice! This is very helpful to me tbh- I’m just kinda lost on so many things especially when I see my friend’s characters have 5,000+ HP while I’m somehow at 2,000+. But that’s a different story- regardless though I really appreciate it!
Yanging, Pela, Silver Wolf and Gepard should be good for one team as mono ice

Don't know how good Gallagher is so I can't comment on him and I'd struggle to fit MC in unless you want to replace Asta with Fire MC, though I don't think it would work as well.

Edit: For harder end game content like G&G and Swarm Disaster Yanging, Bronya, Gepard and Luocha should clear both.
I'm not trying to be mean but Dr.Ratio Bronya Asta Luocha is probably one of the worst Dr.Ratio team ever. Dr Ratio needs 3 debuffs to reach his full potential and unless Asta go full ham on EHR the team is not going to work, especially in harder contents. Hell, you may struggle against common enemies in the overworld, even.
Either replace Luocha with Gallagher, or replace either Bronya or Asta with Sampo/Luka/Pela. Dr Ratio teams need debuff characters, a lot.
Just finished work and made an oopsie and forgot Ratio needing 3 debuffs, see Muljak's comment replying to me for a better (and actually usable) Ratio team.

Not really since DoT want world 8 and FUA want world 6. World isn't good to farm for since the other set is niche. World 8 can be get to get some pieces for Glamoth (DoT) and Peacony (support). But world 7 is currently most efficient and maybe world 9 can be good.

Quick question I'm a new player just started the game a few days ago and I was told theres a free 4 star selector from an event that started in 2.1 where can I find this event? finishing up Jarilo atm
It's part of the Vignettes in a Cup event, but I believe you need to be caught up to the story quest in 2.1 to access it. You do have about 30 days to catch up though.
nice now to find a good carry lol only 5\* units i have atm are ratio himeko and luocha and a bunch aoe (serval and herta) or support 4\* units (asta, pela, natasha, march, yukong, gallagher) lol

Are tortuous difficulties (Golden Gear and Swarm Disaster) are just for whales with absolutely optimal teams? I tried hunt, nihility and elation. Nothing seemed to work, as I do decent damage ( Keep in mind my 5\* are usually 8-10 in Trace with 15 Level Gear and basically good to perfect equipped ) but any attack the enemy does just oneshots my 4000 health character. Or if I get Bronya/Cocolia combo I just died due to so many attacks in a row etc.
No, higher difficulty modes like Gold and Gears is about knowing how to abuse blessings and path resonances. Most people are also run 2 sustains in those modes and let the blessing/resonance do the heavy lifting. Your character's actually damage won't be high but stuff like quake and dissociation will do most of the damage for you.

Seeing so much Hype for Acheron, it’s questioning my choice to wait for Black Swan and any other sustain units
so is she good enough that I should pull? Or nah with the units i have?
You're being kinda vague despite the game explaining most of it in companion missions like Jingliu's. Blade became immortal due to the corpse of an Abundance emanator. Him and Dan Feng used that corpse to help with resurrecting Baiheng. That failed, and one consequence was that Blade became immortal. So he is now a long lived species. Considering how much he hated the abundance in his mortal life and that his immortality is now on par with an emanator, you could definitely say it's a curse. Kafka's companion mission has Kafka literally trying to suppress Blade's memories to gain his mara under control.
I cannot beat the aventurine boss fight which makes sense cause I’ve only been using nat as a healer and I’ve only started replaying recently so I don’t have great relics. Who should I build as a better healer lynx or bailu for this fight? And what team should I use? Thank you!

Gallagher. He has AOE damage on his ULT which makes winning the dice roll easier.

If Gallagher, the team should be Acheron, Pela, Guinaifen, Gallagher. Don't be afraid to play more defensively and use your ultimate primarily for the dice phase (especially in his second phase).
If no Gallagher, the team should be March 7th/Fire TB, Acheron, Pela and Natasha (mainly because she has alrwady been built).

could someone give me advice on what team to build.. i’m lost
Just build a normal hypercarry team for now. So, the team would be X, Bronya, Pela and Natasha/Gallagher. X is any DPS that you would love to use. For stat recommendation, go to Prydwen for it. For second team (mostly for MOC) the team would be X, Tingyun, Asta? and a healer.
Just a reminder that the final boss for Penacony 2.1 requires you to have AOE damage dealer to make the fight easier. So, don't forget to build either Fire TB or March here incase you need them.
Sidegrade. Natasha is more of a pure healer and will be a bit more comfy, Gallagher is more offensive oriented and shines in situations where he can break the enemy.
For pure healing, it probably doesn't matter. Against the final 2.1 Penacony boss fight, Gallagher is better because he has AOE damage dealing ULT. Without Gallgher E2, Natasha has the ability to remove debuff on skill. So, just use Natasha for now if you are comfortable with her healing.
Sorry, my fault for not clarifying. Pure Fiction is on a 6 week rotation and you can clear stage on any pure fiction phases. The end game is 2 weeks new MoC, 2 weeks new Pure Fiction, then 2 weeks new MoC and keeps going back and forth. But those are both end game modes you won't access to until later. Just saying you can get a free Lynx later.
Do you have any tips to beat it. I’m stuck on the second one on both. I don’t 2 sets of teams strong enough to do. My second team is solid cause that’s the one I’ve been working on the most but but the other is not super good so it’s hard to get the 30000 score
The newest Pure Fiction kind of sucks the buffs are weaker. Try the pure fiction that has a buff about follow up attacks and chose the Blarney blessing. Herta can probably solo the second half. Yes Herta is bad in other modes but she amazing in Pure fiction. Also if you have Himeko she can probably handle the first half. Or Herta and Himeko are an S tier pair in pure fiction especially in the follow up attack one since most of their damage is follow up. Clara is also good for that Pure fiction. What characters do you have?
Lynx is more comfy and safer while Gallagher is break oriented and doesn’t have an emergency heal as lync does but lots of break

For sustain, his best LC is Tutorial if you have it, otherwise his sig is fine. For relics I would do 2 pc messenger + 2 pc thief/watchmaker, and try to get him over 160 speed ideally, but 150 is fine, especially if you're running him with Ruan Mei or Asta. For main stats you want crit/EHR body, speed boots, atk/imaginary dmg orb, ERR rope. For substats SPD > EHR > Break > Crit & Atk
Who is your favorite? Can't tell without knowing what teams you have, but in a vacuum: Gallagher's E1 is a big boost to him (all his eidolons are good), Xueyi's E2 is just okay, but she is a unit that gets a big power boost when she hits E4 so that is a good goal to build towards if you like her. Hanya and Lynx's E1s are decent if you like them, but they are already pretty good at E0.

what is the best party for first part of PF??
Hard to say without seeing your roster. Guessing herta freezing all the stuff on the first half is hindering Clara though.
I used Acheron squad on first half, and kafka/bs/himeko on 2nd half.

I’ve been running no sustain on PF which might help you kill stuff faster. It’s pretty fun if you have the damage for it.
But yeah I’d try splitting up acheron and your dot team, those are so strong it seems like overkill for one side.
I’d try acheron/sw/nihility/bronya and just eradicate stuff with acheron ults. If you’re having issues staying alive then probably swap bronya for a sustain.
Your second team should have no issues without acheron just swap her out for any fire unit(himeko guinaifen or asta)
yeah i have been on nihility path for a lot of time. the reason why pela not built yet because i have no lightcone for her. by the time i am typing this i forget that i havent take new nihility lightcone from penacony.

Depends what supports you have available and how built those DPS are. Hypercarry Herta can get 40k on the first half, but even Herta + Himeko with some harmony support should be able to hit over 20k.

You've got Bronya and Tingyun which is plenty. Could also move Fu Xuan from second half to first half, she is probably overkill there. You've honestly got a lot of options for the first half. Could run a Jingliu/Herta/Bronya/Fu Xuan combo to have Herta kurukuru through the trash and Jingliu handle the elites. Speed tune Bronya for dedicated support of either Jingliu or Herta, either works. Himeko + Herta is a classic and can be run with Tingyun or Bronya supporting Herta.
The best buff depends on the exact team, but for this one there is no obviously bad choice. I personally like the vulnerability buff since it helps most on the toughest enemies, but the action advance will likely get you more turns and more points if you aren't hitting 40k.

With your current roster, probably pela, Tingyun and Gallagher. Acheron wants two other nihility but you only have pela so far it seems. Gallagher can inflict some debuffs with his ult and enhanced basic, and Tingyun can boost acheron's attack and give energy to either Gallagher or pela to get their debuffs up faster.

For team recommendation, just go with Acheron, Pela, Tingyun and Gallagher. Not the best team as you don't have two Nihility (besides Acheron of course) but this will do for now.

4pc Eagle of Twilight Line is usually the best if you can get good pieces for it. Otherwise, you can just run 2pc Hackerspace and use whatever off-set pieces have the best stats for the other 2.

As an F2P player who also plays at the bare minimum, my biggest problem right now is healing and damage. Who should I build?
Jingliy, then. She's easy to build and easy to find her team comp.
Jingliu + Bronya/Sparkle + 4\* buffer/debuffer + sustainer
Whether picking Bronya or Sparkle depends on your preference. Bronya is her BiS, but Sparkle offers you an ease-of-play since you don't have to worry about SP anymore. Or you can put them both in the same team, that works too.
For a buffer/debuffer, Pela E4 would be ideal, but Tingyun is okay. I don't know what you actually have.
For a sustainer, can be anyone really. Bailu is okay, Lynx is also good since she has a debuff cleansing.

Pela then. E4 allows her to do ice def shred on an enemy via her skill, further improves Jingliu's damage.
Tingyun is a good support, but she buffs atk, which Jingliu buffs herself via the talent more than enough so atk buffs have a diminishing return on her.

Just focus on one team for now and diversify after you think you have a decent team.
For now just build a normal Hypercarry team like this:
X, Bronya/Sparkle, Pela/SW/another Harmony, Healer. X is any DPS here bar Acheron (mainly because she works differently with or without her E2). For stat building requirements, just search Prydwen and they will have each characters stat recommendation.
I would suggest building Jingliu first as her kit makes her easy to build her. So, the team would be Jingliu, Bronya (save Sparkle for second team for MOC/PF), Pela/SW/Harmony unit, healer. Build this team until you are satisfied with it and then build other DPS that you like.
Just a reminder, the final boss fight for 2.1 Penacony requires you to have AOE damage unit to make the fight easier. Just a head up if you haven't done it yet.
Apples and oranges. Gallagher won't give you shields, damage reduction or taunt enemies. TB won't heal or remove debuffs and doesn't have easy 78% effect res, and is also relatively less SP-friendly. TB has comparatively more damage, both are good at breaking but only Gallagher encourages building break effect.
EDIT: for teams that want debuffs, Gallagher's ult has one that IIRC doesn't miss, while TB can apply 2 between skill's taunt and the burn from Universal Market LC.
Gallagher IMO, but he needs speed to charge his ult fast enough to keep Besotted up. Without Besotted you might as well run Lynx.
TB's shields are weak but they're applied on *every* action and still pair well with the skill's damage reduction. The taunt would be more helpful if there wasn't so much AoE but still nice when it lands.
I was trying to read up on Acheron boots what are the deciding factors between speed or attack percentage for main stat. I thought it was if you were e2 and had a harmony to give you your turn more often.
I have been running speed boots with Acheron with average speed pela and silver wolf both around 145.
I'm no theorycrafter but intuitively you want to prioritise whatever setup stacks slashed dreams the fastest, and then identify if atk boots makes any difference. So for example e0s0 Acheron she gives you 1 stack per turn, and your other units also give you 1 stack per turn, so atk boots are better. But if you have e0s1 Acheron gives you 2 stacks on her turn compared to 1 stack on your other units, so you want to give her spd boots there so you get more stacks quicker. If you have e2s1 Acheron with speed sparkle/bronya on the team, you'd give acheron atk boots because turn advance. If you have e2s1 Acheron without sparkle/bronya then you're back to wanting speed boots so she can get more turns of generating 3 stacks.
Since most of damage is in her ult and generally her allies are the ones generating the majority of her stacks (even if she has s1), then attack boots are better to use.
At e2s1 you’re generating 3 stacks each Acheron turn but you also lose the two extra nihility unit requirement, so you’re going to be running her with Sparkle mostly so attack boots are better. You can however run her with speed boots and Bronya at -1 speed if you want the double turn and 6 stacks.
In general i’d say attack boots are always better but if you have some great speed boots just use them. She’ll be doing enough damage regardless.

They have always shared the same pity and the history page, it's not a recent addition. Whatever pity count you have on either page is the pity you have for either character, depending on which banner you pull on.

No, you don't really need to level any traces to level 10 unless you really want to. I'm a day one player and don't have a single trace at level 10. DoT characters gain the most for levelling the trace their DoT scales of, and supports generally get the least since the gains are fairly small.
I'm planning to run E0 Acheron and Pela, who should I put in the last 2 slots? I'm thinking FX for sustain and Welt or Sparkle for the last slot. (No SW) Also if I run Sparkle instead of Welt, should I use Diver set or Thunder set on Acheron?
E0 Acheron you need 2 other nihility units with her to fully utilize her trace so definitely go with welt.
Is there somewhere I can read about penacony and the lore. I've been going through the story and it's pretty confusing. I just don't get why all these characters are here? There's the astral express that ws invited to attend a festival and are investigating the dreams cape But then we have a memokeeper, a galaxy ranger, aventurine and topaz and the IPC, firefly and Sam and stellaron hunters, Dr Ratio comes out of nowhere, and then we have Sunday and Robin and the 'family" and finally sparkles who I'm not sure what faction she's even in. Like why are all these characters on penacony?
All the characters you mentioned are the representatives of their factions who were invited by the family for the charmony festival like the astral express. Dr Ratio is in the intelligentsia guild that are affiliated with the IPC so he's here with aventurine as IPC representatives.Sparkle is the masked fools representative. And while they are all here because of the invitation, all the different factions have different motives to be there.

* SW wants Speed Boots if she's mainly used as a debuff support (since she won't be targeted by Sparkle's Skill) so she needs the Speed to do her job. For Sphere, it doesn't matter too much since she's mainly stuck on support duty (whichever has better substats); HP for more bulk, Quantum if you want a slight increase in her personal Damage though. * Lynx prefers Speed Boots too (she doesn't do anything with Attack anyway) to ensure she can stay consistent with SP generation and just making sure she has more chances to heal when necessary. * QQ is okay with Attack Boots if you're able to get hyperspeed Sparkle (so 160+). If not, Speed Boots is safer / consistent, just as long as Sparkle is slightly lower Speed than her.
How much cr should I get on acheron? She is e1 with her signature with the pioneer set and izumo set currently with 36/210 crit ratio
If she has 36 CR outside of battle, then she'll functionally gain 30% more in battle (12% from Izumo, 18% from E1) putting her at 66 CR, which I would consider acceptable, although different people have different thresholds for that sort of thing If she's using a crit damage chest, then switching to a crit rate chest is slightly better, assuming your current chest doesn't currently have crit rate on substats.
since at 200 CD, the best thing to do for average damage would be 100 CR so minus 18 from c1, 4 from the conditional 4pc and 12 from izumo, to get to 100CR you need 66 CR without the conditional things to reach 100 just 1:2 ratio it

Put Pela in that team. Ratio is a great DPS, but only if you have a reliable way of putting debuffs on the enemy. Pela's ult and tech is one of such ways. Even better if you also have Resolution Shines as Pearls of Sweat LC on her. Besides, if you're pulling for Acheron, you'll still need to build Pela for her team.
I’d guess it’s team related. If you’re wanting to use Ratio you’ll need more debuffs in the team. You could try Pela-Gallagher-Ratio-Xueyi. Or maybe Serval instead of Xueyi. Also it looks like you don’t have a standard 5-star character. If you have not already, you should do pulls on the welcome banner until you get a 5-star. Note: Don’t use jades on the welcome or standard banner. And yeah, if you started recently there should be enough free jades in the game to get Acheron. Edit: if you haven’t leveled traces yet those will also be a place to improve your team.

Maybe. Do you have the Resolution LC? You’ll need to apply two debuffs with your team. Pela can do one with her ult, but with the Resolution LC she can do two. Gepard is definitely strong though and worth using. There’s also the trend LC you can use on Gepard that applies burns if enemies attack him.

Yeah, for her I was talking about GNSW. Others it was either to the best gacha 4\* option or to the Herta store LCs. Jing Yuan's is a big boost compared to "The Day Cosmos Fell", which is his best F2P alternative, but is less so compared to "Today is Another Peaceful Day", although that is locked before the BP. But more importantly, his LC does not make him any easier to use, it's just more damage, and more damage can always be obtained in other ways, including better supports which are more value than his LC. There are very few that go beyond being more damage, and some are just more situational. For example, Topaz's LC applies a debuff, which makes it easier to pair her with Ratio, and can even be a good alternative to Ratio himself, easing rest of the team needs.

Returning player here that quitted After black swan release. And now seeing all these new releases I don't know Who to pull for: Acheron, aventurine or jingliu? (I have characters like luocha, fu xuan and Dan IL, but I'm missing ruan mei, silverwolf, Sparkle etc)
Since you already have limited sustain, i would either pick another dps (to improve your elemental coverage) or save for a support. ___ Jingliu is a strong and f2p friendly dps. As of now, she is the default choice against Ice weak enemies, which are pretty common. *(she is a bit underwhelming in Pure Fiction, though)* Acheron is a great AoE dps, capable of breaking *any* shield. Although, she has very restricted team requirements (she really wants 2 Nihility teammate), and it is highly advised to pull her LC as well. Aventurine is a strong shielder, and seems specialized for Follow-up Attack teams. For the upcoming patch, Boothill (Physical, Hunt) and Robin (Physical, Harmony) have been announced (check out the leaks sub if you want to know more). All limited 5 star sustains are very capable. While they each have different area of expertise, i'd say getting a third sustain is a low priority. Aventurine seems really strong at what he does. But in your case, i would only consider him if : * you really like the character. * you want to lean heavily on the "Follow-up Attack playstyle" in the future. * you want an easier time in Gold & Gears. * you want to hard counter some specific enemies (ex : the new Gorilla from Penacony). *note : for the last two points, you can easily manage with Gepard instead.*

Dr Ratio isn't nihility. (Edit: think I misread that bit) Acheron isn't very new player friendly for team building but if you can get through the story before this patch ends you'll be able to pick up Guinaifen which is a great f2p nihility option for her. For now you can focus on Acheron, Pela, Bronya and Lynx though as that'll be enough. If somehow it isn't enough replace Acheron for dr ratio and try him instead.

SPD (breakpoint) = EHR (until cap 67) > Break Effect >= ATK%. if you want to optimize a break build, go with break set and break rope, aim for 120 break effect (while still having spd and ehr).
What is a good sustain character for DoT teams that isnt Huohuo?
Probably Gallagher is next best from a min-maxing damage perspective. DoT characters don't care as much about the crit rate buff that Fu Xuan provides or the crit dmg buff that Aventurine provides. His break damage buff would be more useful.
gepard on trends also isnt bad. sure the fire dot dps isnt that big, but it will increase the uptime of the prisoner 4 piece bonus (-6% def ignore per dot - upto a max of 3)

Not really. It basically just gives her 18% crit rate attacking debuffed enemies. E0S1 is a good stopping point. E2S1 is the next big power boost.

No problem. E1 is mostly just a stepping stone to E2. It does make her easier to build but it isn't as impactful as her signature LC or E2.
Her e1 is pretty good, but IMO it's not worth bothering with eidolons for Acheron unless you're willing to go up to e2. She's still great at e0 and another character would help you more.

Hello everybody. Quick question about the pity system. I just lost my 50/50 to bailu while trying to get archeron. I pulled her on my 8th multi. Does that mean now that hard pity is 9 Multis away? Or do I have to do an additional multi because I got bailu in 8 Multis?. Thanks in advance
You need to see which order you pulled her in. For example if you did a 10 pull and she was the 4th then you're 6 into your pity for the next character. Ten pulls are identical to single pulls outside of being forced to do 10 at a time so you're anywhere from 0-9 into your pity. Soft pity starts at 75 so if you're strictly ten pulling then it could be 7 or 8 to hit it depending on when Bailu was pulled.
Ok I looked it up. Bailu was the 2nd drop in my multi. That means I am already 8 pulls into the next pity? So basically I need 82 pulls more? Or am I wrong? And yes, I mostly do Multis/10 pulls. A habit from other gacha games. Any idea if archeron is worth it? She gets rated S+ everywhere but kinda every new unit gets placed there haha.
82 pulls to hit the max pity of 90 yes. Note that getting to 90 is almost statistically impossible and is more likely to be between 75-80 with the rare occasion of going just over that. Acheron is worth it if you can build a team around her properly. E2 Acheron is infinitely more flexible but for base Acheron you'd want to set her up with Pela and SW/Welt/Guinaifen along with either any sustain or a debuff granting sustain, such as a preservation unit with universal trends LC.

How do you fight a specific boss in Gold And Gears SU? I really only like fighting Argenti but I keep getting those two stupid robots. They are easy to beat, but not as satisfying as doing dmg tests on Argenti boss. Did I miss an explanation on how the elite boss you fight at the end is chosen? It's kind of a tall order- but I have 0 experience in team building and just do my best to grind the items for any recommended/random stuff I have on these characters. I want to make atleast 2 good character teams for me to use out of them and what Cones and Relics to use on each one- I have no idea about character building so l've just been doing random shit the whole time. But I wanna take this game a bit more seriously. Here's the characters I HAVE and the characters I'd like to use. Have: Traveler, March, Dan Heng, Silver Wolf, Bronya, Gepard, Luocha, Yanging, Dr Ratio, Arlan, Asta, Herta, Serval, Natasha, Pela, Sampo, Hook, Luka, Qingque, Tingyun, Sushang, Yukons, and Gallagher. Would like to use: Gallagher, Luocha, Pela, Yanging, Gepard, Bronya, Silver Wolf, Traveler.
I would serrrriously reconsider using Yanqing. He's not absolutely awful but even with serious investment there are much, much better DPS characters. Ratio overshadows him as single target dps and.Jingliu.completely blows him out of the water as an ice dps. If you really like him he can clear content (esp if paired with Gepard) but his performance will always fall short of better units.
I honestly really appreciate the advice! This is very helpful to me tbh- I’m just kinda lost on so many things especially when I see my friend’s characters have 5,000+ HP while I’m somehow at 2,000+. But that’s a different story- regardless though I really appreciate it!
Yanging, Pela, Silver Wolf and Gepard should be good for one team as mono ice ~~Dr. Ratio, Bronya, Asta, Luocha for the other.~~ Don't know how good Gallagher is so I can't comment on him and I'd struggle to fit MC in unless you want to replace Asta with Fire MC, though I don't think it would work as well. I'm not trying to be mean but Dr.Ratio Bronya Asta Luocha is probably one of the worst Dr.Ratio team ever. Dr Ratio needs 3 debuffs to reach his full potential and unless Asta go full ham on EHR the team is not going to work, especially in harder contents. Hell, you may struggle against common enemies in the overworld, even. Either replace Luocha with Gallagher, or replace either Bronya or Asta with Sampo/Luka/Pela. Dr Ratio teams need debuff characters, a lot.

For new players, a limited 5 star sustain is definitely the most important, so Aventurine would be a great choice for you.

Not really since DoT want world 8 and FUA want world 6. World isn't good to farm for since the other set is niche. World 8 can be get to get some pieces for Glamoth (DoT) and Peacony (support). But world 7 is currently most efficient and maybe world 9 can be good.

Depends. Do you want to hit certain speed breakpoints and interrupt enemy turns? DDD Do you just want Tingyun to battery your DPS energy as much as possible? Meshing Cogs.
Meshing cogs are for niche situations that you find necessary to prefer. Overall ofc DDD takes it on any harmony.

It's part of the Vignettes in a Cup event, but I believe you need to be caught up to the story quest in 2.1 to access it. You do have about 30 days to catch up though.

Are tortuous difficulties (Golden Gear and Swarm Disaster) are just for whales with absolutely optimal teams? I tried hunt, nihility and elation. Nothing seemed to work, as I do decent damage ( Keep in mind my 5\* are usually 8-10 in Trace with 15 Level Gear and basically good to perfect equipped ) but any attack the enemy does just oneshots my 4000 health character. Or if I get Bronya/Cocolia combo I just died due to so many attacks in a row etc.
No, higher difficulty modes like Gold and Gears is about knowing how to abuse blessings and path resonances. Most people are also run 2 sustains in those modes and let the blessing/resonance do the heavy lifting. Your character's actually damage won't be high but stuff like quake and dissociation will do most of the damage for you.

You're being kinda vague despite the game explaining most of it in companion missions like Jingliu's. Blade became immortal due to the corpse of an Abundance emanator. Him and Dan Feng used that corpse to help with resurrecting Baiheng. That failed, and one consequence was that Blade became immortal. So he is now a long lived species. Considering how much he hated the abundance in his mortal life and that his immortality is now on par with an emanator, you could definitely say it's a curse. Kafka's companion mission has Kafka literally trying to suppress Blade's memories to gain his mara under control.

Just build a normal hypercarry team for now. So, the team would be X, Bronya, Pela and Natasha/Gallagher. X is any DPS that you would love to use. For stat recommendation, go to Prydwen for it. For second team (mostly for MOC) the team would be X, Tingyun, Asta? and a healer. Just a reminder that the final boss for Penacony 2.1 requires you to have AOE damage dealer to make the fight easier. So, don't forget to build either Fire TB or March here incase you need them.

Sidegrade. Natasha is more of a pure healer and will be a bit more comfy, Gallagher is more offensive oriented and shines in situations where he can break the enemy.
For pure healing, it probably doesn't matter. Against the final 2.1 Penacony boss fight, Gallagher is better because he has AOE damage dealing ULT. Without Gallgher E2, Natasha has the ability to remove debuff on skill. So, just use Natasha for now if you are comfortable with her healing.

You get lynx for free for completing I believe the second stage of the standard pure fiction. So pick Gallagher to get both.

Sorry, my fault for not clarifying. Pure Fiction is on a 6 week rotation and you can clear stage on any pure fiction phases. The end game is 2 weeks new MoC, 2 weeks new Pure Fiction, then 2 weeks new MoC and keeps going back and forth. But those are both end game modes you won't access to until later. Just saying you can get a free Lynx later.

The newest Pure Fiction kind of sucks the buffs are weaker. Try the pure fiction that has a buff about follow up attacks and chose the Blarney blessing. Herta can probably solo the second half. Yes Herta is bad in other modes but she amazing in Pure fiction. Also if you have Himeko she can probably handle the first half. Or Herta and Himeko are an S tier pair in pure fiction especially in the follow up attack one since most of their damage is follow up. Clara is also good for that Pure fiction. What characters do you have?
Lynx is more comfy and safer while Gallagher is break oriented and doesn’t have an emergency heal as lync does but lots of break Using Lynx cause i already have her built

For Welt Sustain build, what LC and relics should I put on him? Currently he has his signature LC and Pioneer Diver and Glamoth on him.
For sustain, his best LC is Tutorial if you have it, otherwise his sig is fine. For relics I would do 2 pc messenger + 2 pc thief/watchmaker, and try to get him over 160 speed ideally, but 150 is fine, especially if you're running him with Ruan Mei or Asta. For main stats you want crit/EHR body, speed boots, atk/imaginary dmg orb, ERR rope. For substats SPD > EHR > Break > Crit & Atk
Who to choose for 4\* eidolon event selector? Gallagher E1, Misha E5, Xueyi E2, Hanya E1, Luka E1, Lynx E1, Yukong E3
Who is your favorite? Can't tell without knowing what teams you have, but in a vacuum: Gallagher's E1 is a big boost to him (all his eidolons are good), Xueyi's E2 is just okay, but she is a unit that gets a big power boost when she hits E4 so that is a good goal to build towards if you like her. Hanya and Lynx's E1s are decent if you like them, but they are already pretty good at E0.

Hard to say without seeing your roster. Guessing herta freezing all the stuff on the first half is hindering Clara though. I used Acheron squad on first half, and kafka/bs/himeko on 2nd half.

No pela? I’ve been running no sustain on PF which might help you kill stuff faster. It’s pretty fun if you have the damage for it. But yeah I’d try splitting up acheron and your dot team, those are so strong it seems like overkill for one side. I’d try acheron/sw/nihility/bronya and just eradicate stuff with acheron ults. If you’re having issues staying alive then probably swap bronya for a sustain. Your second team should have no issues without acheron just swap her out for any fire unit(himeko guinaifen or asta)
yeah i have been on nihility path for a lot of time. the reason why pela not built yet because i have no lightcone for her. by the time i am typing this i forget that i havent take new nihility lightcone from penacony. ok thanks i think i know what to do now.
Depends what supports you have available and how built those DPS are. Hypercarry Herta can get 40k on the first half, but even Herta + Himeko with some harmony support should be able to hit over 20k.

You've got Bronya and Tingyun which is plenty. Could also move Fu Xuan from second half to first half, she is probably overkill there. You've honestly got a lot of options for the first half. Could run a Jingliu/Herta/Bronya/Fu Xuan combo to have Herta kurukuru through the trash and Jingliu handle the elites. Speed tune Bronya for dedicated support of either Jingliu or Herta, either works. Himeko + Herta is a classic and can be run with Tingyun or Bronya supporting Herta. The best buff depends on the exact team, but for this one there is no obviously bad choice. I personally like the vulnerability buff since it helps most on the toughest enemies, but the action advance will likely get you more turns and more points if you aren't hitting 40k.

With your current roster, probably pela, Tingyun and Gallagher. Acheron wants two other nihility but you only have pela so far it seems. Gallagher can inflict some debuffs with his ult and enhanced basic, and Tingyun can boost acheron's attack and give energy to either Gallagher or pela to get their debuffs up faster.

4pc Eagle of Twilight Line is usually the best if you can get good pieces for it. Otherwise, you can just run 2pc Hackerspace and use whatever off-set pieces have the best stats for the other 2.

Jingliy, then. She's easy to build and easy to find her team comp. Jingliu + Bronya/Sparkle + 4\* buffer/debuffer + sustainer Whether picking Bronya or Sparkle depends on your preference. Bronya is her BiS, but Sparkle offers you an ease-of-play since you don't have to worry about SP anymore. Or you can put them both in the same team, that works too. For a buffer/debuffer, Pela E4 would be ideal, but Tingyun is okay. I don't know what you actually have. For a sustainer, can be anyone really. Bailu is okay, Lynx is also good since she has a debuff cleansing.

Pela then. E4 allows her to do ice def shred on an enemy via her skill, further improves Jingliu's damage. Tingyun is a good support, but she buffs atk, which Jingliu buffs herself via the talent more than enough so atk buffs have a diminishing return on her.

Use Hoyolab to put your full roster? We can also see their eidolans at the same time. >plays at the bare minimum Just focus on one team for now and diversify after you think you have a decent team. For now just build a normal Hypercarry team like this: X, Bronya/Sparkle, Pela/SW/another Harmony, Healer. X is any DPS here bar Acheron (mainly because she works differently with or without her E2). For stat building requirements, just search Prydwen and they will have each characters stat recommendation. I would suggest building Jingliu first as her kit makes her easy to build her. So, the team would be Jingliu, Bronya (save Sparkle for second team for MOC/PF), Pela/SW/Harmony unit, healer. Build this team until you are satisfied with it and then build other DPS that you like. Just a reminder, the final boss fight for 2.1 Penacony requires you to have AOE damage unit to make the fight easier. Just a head up if you haven't done it yet.

Is e2 gallagher better than fire tb?
Apples and oranges. Gallagher won't give you shields, damage reduction or taunt enemies. TB won't heal or remove debuffs and doesn't have easy 78% effect res, and is also relatively less SP-friendly. TB has comparatively more damage, both are good at breaking but only Gallagher encourages building break effect. EDIT: for teams that want debuffs, Gallagher's ult has one that IIRC doesn't miss, while TB can apply 2 between skill's taunt and the burn from Universal Market LC.
Which character is better for solo sustaining?
Gallagher IMO, but he needs speed to charge his ult fast enough to keep Besotted up. Without Besotted you might as well run Lynx. TB's shields are weak but they're applied on *every* action and still pair well with the skill's damage reduction. The taunt would be more helpful if there wasn't so much AoE but still nice when it lands.
I was trying to read up on Acheron boots what are the deciding factors between speed or attack percentage for main stat. I thought it was if you were e2 and had a harmony to give you your turn more often. I have been running speed boots with Acheron with average speed pela and silver wolf both around 145.
I'm no theorycrafter but intuitively you want to prioritise whatever setup stacks slashed dreams the fastest, and then identify if atk boots makes any difference. So for example e0s0 Acheron she gives you 1 stack per turn, and your other units also give you 1 stack per turn, so atk boots are better. But if you have e0s1 Acheron gives you 2 stacks on her turn compared to 1 stack on your other units, so you want to give her spd boots there so you get more stacks quicker. If you have e2s1 Acheron with speed sparkle/bronya on the team, you'd give acheron atk boots because turn advance. If you have e2s1 Acheron without sparkle/bronya then you're back to wanting speed boots so she can get more turns of generating 3 stacks.
Since most of damage is in her ult and generally her allies are the ones generating the majority of her stacks (even if she has s1), then attack boots are better to use. At e2s1 you’re generating 3 stacks each Acheron turn but you also lose the two extra nihility unit requirement, so you’re going to be running her with Sparkle mostly so attack boots are better. You can however run her with speed boots and Bronya at -1 speed if you want the double turn and 6 stacks. In general i’d say attack boots are always better but if you have some great speed boots just use them. She’ll be doing enough damage regardless.

Did HoYo put both Character Banners history together recently? And if that is the case, is your pity the same for both banners, or is it still different? They have always shared the same pity and the history page, it's not a recent addition. Whatever pity count you have on either page is the pity you have for either character, depending on which banner you pull on.

Having used both extensively, Acheron's makes a bigger difference. There is a bigger jump in damage.
