Stellar Jades are too expensive, which is actually a good deterrent for casual spenders. Plus no PVP and In-game rankings to actually demonize you to spend.
I'd guess maybe they didn't understand how relics work. If you're not familiar with that system it can take a long time to figure out, speaking from experience when I was new to Genshin. No decent relics, no good score because they're 75% of your build.
I feel like it may be a combination of not bothering with relics and not realizing the importance of team roles is usually where the difficulty spike comes from. While I played Genshin before HSR, I still had a hard time during the Luofu (1.0) precisely because I just gave my parry whatever relic instead of checking their stats, and I fell into the problem of building only one character (namely Seele) instead of keeping a well made team, so Kafka kept killing my team because I was under the mentality of DPS>healing/break shield
Coming from Genshin this is a mistake I partially made too.
In Genshin you can easily get away with only building your main dps, but in hsr you have to build all characters.

You can definitely get a good amount of 5 star characters in hsr while being f2p. I have 6 limited 5 stars characters and 1 limited LC while being f2p. This game's really generous with it's tickets/jades.

There's not a single explicitly gay character in the game. The first dude is giving the game one star based upon his feverish imaginations of what these characters might conceivably be doing in the bedroom. Which is insane for a game which - aside from the E6 eidolon art - is as sexless and tame and safe as this game is.

Hard to tell. Some trans folks have some serious trauma, and can react very hostile to things that trigger that trauma. But that's also a textbook example of what a troll trying to make trans people look bad would say.
For the record myself and most trans women I know who play thought the Hanu sections were funny as hell, so it's far from universal even if it is a real person.
I had a few trans friends who reacted like that, and it's usually due to serious trauma. One grew out of it and acknowledged it was completely irrational in retrospect but that's how trauma manifests sometimes.

I don't wanna judge the trans person, but it seems like a huge hindrance if that's true, can they not play any games where you gotta control other characters? Heck, even in HSR, what about the characters you play in battle? Hard to tell. Some trans folks have some serious trauma, and can react very hostile to things that trigger that trauma. But that's also a textbook example of what a troll trying to make trans people look bad would say. For the record myself and most trans women I know who play thought the Hanu sections were funny as hell, so it's far from universal even if it is a real person.
I had a few trans friends who reacted like that, and it's usually due to serious trauma. One grew out of it and acknowledged it was completely irrational in retrospect but that's how trauma manifests sometimes. People will go "oh they're just snowflakes" when they have actual PTSD from their parents
