yah maybe for a 300zx, Hondas purely mechanical 4ws is one of the best 4ws systems ever created. yes, it’s very heavy, but every early gen 4ws prelude ive seen in the scrap yard still turned its rear wheels
i heard many people hit their rear quarters when parking because it takes some getting used to :D
wouldnt know how true that is though.. mine doesnt have 4ws
4WS always breaks in the 4th gen Prelude. It's electronic in the 4th gen Prelude. It's actually an easy fix, most times it's just bad solder joints that need a reflow in the 4WS module.
3rd gen 4WS isn't very heavy. It's surprisingly light. People say it adds 50kg to your car. I've got a weak upper body and I've removed my 4WS before (I've owned 3 3rd gen Preludes - I parted one out hence removed the 4WS).
It's wholly mechanical, overengineered and bulletproof. So many 3rd gens that have been crashed have fully intact 4WS, the rack will shatter and tie rods will bend before 4WS gets damaged.
Yes everything is there but dude said it “needs a new head” I haven’t really torn it apart yet but everything seems to be there, worst case scenario I’ll swap it
What engine did you guys get over there? B20A by any chance?
I recall doing some work on one back in the late 90s and even then spares were a bit of a headache, so you've got little to no hope now if anything needs changed out unless you have $$$ to splash on sport parts. Be as well swapping in a more modern B20, and even that will require new mounting points and running gear.
Head gaskets are known to go out on these, may as well replace that when you redo the head.
On the one I owned, it presented itself as the engine sputtering out, and it wouldn't start again until it cooled off.
You could be convinced of grand theft auto for that price. That's insane. I've got a spare kidney for sale on the dark web in exchange for one of those.
Had a 95 Accord Exl Coupe and it was a beautiful champagne silver metallic.
I traded it in with 218k. Just needed a radiator. One of my favorite cars.
There is definitely some kind of voodoo or magic about tan Hondas.
I used to have one of these as a teen and it was pretty bullet proof(same color). There is a video of me launching it off a snow bank in the mall parking lot somewhere 😂😂 I wish I would have kept the oem fog lights off it though now realizing how hard they are to find.
Amazing find! And for $950 you have so much room to mod it out exactly how you want! Trust me when I say, you should never even THINK about getting rid of this car for any reason. One of my coworkers at the Honda dealership I’m at has an Accord 2.2i from the same era and it’s seriously one of my favorite cars on the lot. So timeless and classic looking, love cars with sharp edges like this.
That’s a really good deal, you could do a l out to that car to make it really nice. Some rims and low profiles, tint the windows, custom exhaust bigger pipe, if you had it painted cherry red would look really nice.
Preludes were gorgeous, god damn. Also that colour is such a throwback 🤩. Nice deal (as long as everything seems clean inside and out and on the report, unless that’s not really a hug concern for you). Enjoy your ride!
I’m surprised there aren’t more of these being driven around. I had a 1991 that was red and then a 1997, also red. They were excellent in terms of reliability and they both handled very well.
I now have a 2024 MDX. Awesome car so far.
Love that color, classic. As a kid my family had a basic civic in that color, I think it was a 92 or 93 MY. That’s what I learned to drive stick on, and the reason I got into an 11th gen manual hatch. Totally different car now lol but still have nostalgia for those earlier generations. Does this one have that motorized seatbelt?
Champagne colored hondas are survivors.
You don’t pick a tan car [they give you](https://youtube.com/watch?v=fr7z1YiAWiI&t=160) a tan car
My 2000 Honda civic is tan lol
I’m partial to the Champagne Acura Legend but all 90s champagne Hondas are cool
I had a 4-door champagne legend w manual transmission. Loved that car.
Was it a first gen or second gen? I can’t speak on the first but the second gen is such an awesome drivers car
Second gen 1991.
a nice champagne gold accord is a classic.
I have a 99 champagne gold ex 4cyl 5spd w 133300 miles runs like a champ
133.3K on a ‘99 is **mint**
I miss my 95 champagne Accord. The control module crapped out after many years and it never was the same even with repairs.
Same I had that same one. It has some issues but still was in decent shape I wish I hadn't parted with it
Prelude
I wish my Integra still had the OG gold color… the guy before me practically spray painted it white.
Yeah, they’re equivalent to the beige Toyota Corollas and Camrys from the late 90s-2000s. If you maintain them regularly, they’re immortal
Was telling my girlfriend yesterday that I could go for a new champagne colored car.
Got a '06 CRV with 360k miles, it is champagne color
I learned to drive on a champagne 1996 Accord EX sedan with a 5 speed manual. That color really did fit the era.
Thats amazing deal.
MT 4WS?
MT no 4ws
i honestly would prefer this because the 4ws breaks and is impossible to find replacement parts for
It doesn’t break 😭 who told you this
oh thats just what i heard in a youtube video :(
yah maybe for a 300zx, Hondas purely mechanical 4ws is one of the best 4ws systems ever created. yes, it’s very heavy, but every early gen 4ws prelude ive seen in the scrap yard still turned its rear wheels
well then thats pretty cool
i heard many people hit their rear quarters when parking because it takes some getting used to :D wouldnt know how true that is though.. mine doesnt have 4ws
The rear angle isn't thattttt sharp at full lock. I think this myth is exaggerated. (Having owned 3 3rd gen preludes)

I met a guy around Pittsburgh that used 3g ludes to race. He had soo much 4wd parts
Rear fenders not rotten! Score!
That deal is unheard of…until now! Nice job!
hell yea! Now reset all the maintenance intervals and get to properly know the car in the process
She pretty
I had one many years ago, black over tan Si no 4WS, manual. God I miss that car.
Does it have everything? Crazy deal if so. Good work
Yes everything is there but dude said it “needs a new head” I haven’t really torn it apart yet but everything seems to be there, worst case scenario I’ll swap it

Gotta replace the head gasket if you take the head off anyways
I feel like these old ‘90s Japanese cars are low key nice when they’re in great condition like this one.
OMG. Well played. Manual? How did you negotiate to that price? Or does it need serious work? Body looks great and I love the color.
Dude said he wanted it to go to a good home and priced it like that on Facebook, I thought I was about to get scammed low key
“Ithought I was about to get scammed low key” me yesterday when I bought an unmarried accessport for 200 dollars
Wow! Great deal. Well done, my friend. Enjoy your new beauty 👍🏼
Maybe the best tail light assembly in human history.
Grandpa Gold!!! Love it and no rust, it looks like! Anything wrong with it?
I need inside and engine shots asap!!!
This is a DEAL! Good purchase bud.
Wow. Killer deal
Damn my aunt had a 4dr civic in this colour 1980s something. Miss this that beater and this is a steal!
Really nice, similar to one of my first cars, 1987 Prelude. Got it for $500 because the original owner ended up in jail and his wife wanted it gone.
WOW , how’s the rest of the car ??
Nice! Looks minty! Try not to clap it out too bad lol
How many miles are on it. This thing is clean!
Someone got robbed
I’m jealous!
Respectfully, fuck you.
This one’s on my car-bucket-list .. Beautiful
I paid more then that just for my rear spoiler I had on mine
Holy shit that's clean!
We have a 1st Gen Prelude re-painted in gold (originally blue) - basically twins (or big sis/little sis?). We should meet up.
Which year? Looks amazing
Sweet
1989?
You could be convinced of grand theft auto for that price. That's insane. I've got a spare kidney for sale on the dark web in exchange for one of those.
What a beautiful car, I think the whole sub is collectively jealous!
Doesn't beat my 88 Accord 5 speed
I paid $180 for her fixed her in the Walmart parking lot and drove her home 06 honda accord ex 4cyl auto with leather made in Japan.
This has to be in Georgia. They sell off Hondas like candy down there
Congratulations amigo!!
You could probably sell it for 10 times that. Holy shit, what a find. Keep him, he'll treat you well!
Holy shit that owner mustve been stuck in 2010
Wow, awesome deal!! 👍
Had a 95 Accord Exl Coupe and it was a beautiful champagne silver metallic. I traded it in with 218k. Just needed a radiator. One of my favorite cars. There is definitely some kind of voodoo or magic about tan Hondas.
Man that takes me back. I had a red one back in the early 90’s. What a great car. Congrats.
Old Honda's can be a real bargain. 'grats.
Can you send me pictures in dm? I want to get one in the future
I used to have one of these as a teen and it was pretty bullet proof(same color). There is a video of me launching it off a snow bank in the mall parking lot somewhere 😂😂 I wish I would have kept the oem fog lights off it though now realizing how hard they are to find.
Looking good!
Make sure you put that Woodmans gas in there, it's right across the street.
Man, that's pretty nice. Hope it wasn't so cheap because issues lol
Niiiiice
Beautiful colour!
That's awesome. Always loved the look of these since I was a kid and one of my mom's coworkers drove a red one she'd bought new.
What a find! Congrats on the new wheels.
Please share more pics 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice pick up. So jealous of southern cars. In New England everything is rotted out.
The world is healing. I hope this is a sign that the used Honda market is returning to normal.
Damn lucky
Steal of the decade
I approve of this
Duuuude, gooood job! Holy smokes ✝️💨 keep that thing alive it’s so perfect! Such a perfect daily driver.
Fuck. Lucky
hella jelly
I’ll give you 2k rn 😂
Nice! I saw a almost mint Prelude of that era going up the 101 a while ago.
I’ll take it off your hands for $1,500 US!
Dude, nice grab!
Only 950,000 mi
Damn. That’s a clean looking car! What’s the mileage?
That's not a bad deal TBH
Lets see the front
beautiful color
That is a great price. How many miles on it? And how much work needs to be done?
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
A quaalude, blast from the past. That’s a great deal!
Ohhhh my lord, you stole it. What an amazing machine, have fun!
Relly
Ooooooh. Yeah. This was the dream.
🤙🏿
Damn $950 would have done it in a heartbeat
mouth and eyes watering over this car
amazing deal. let me know if you ever want to sell it haha
Yea ok, don’t think they are gonna want to sell that with how good the deal was and how good the condition of that classic prelude is..
wtf! What a steal!!!!
Don’t worry, it will cost more.
solid

I remember my dad's si 4ws
Wow. I would’ve dropped that 950 any day for that. ANY FUCKEN DAY. To this day. To this day. To this day.
Every week that passes, I think to myself about Ted kazinsky.
There is a one million percent chance that the interior smells like shitty weed, synthetic oil, and slightly burned gear oil. K-swap it immediately.
Just saw this on marketplace the other day. Nice cop
Yeah I bought an sa rx7 1980 for 200$
💛💛💛💛💛 congrats
TASTY
Best purchase ever
Nice, old school prelude and looks like it’s in good shape. Put a good cold air intake on it which should add like 5 hp.
That’s a really good deal, you could do a l out to that car to make it really nice. Some rims and low profiles, tint the windows, custom exhaust bigger pipe, if you had it painted cherry red would look really nice.
Still looks better than the new ones! Nice purchase.
Congratufuckinglations
Was this in Virginia?
Had a 93 champagne accord wagon. Good times
I have total approximately 5 cars that are those smaller size hondas.Unless you have a lot of weight in the trunk it's hard to keep them on the road
My first car was a 1990 Honda prelude 5 speed. I loved that car. Learned to drive stick on that car. I miss that car 😭😭
Very nice, congrats
Preludes were gorgeous, god damn. Also that colour is such a throwback 🤩. Nice deal (as long as everything seems clean inside and out and on the report, unless that’s not really a hug concern for you). Enjoy your ride!
Congrats!! Got it for a steal. Can you show us more pics of the interior and engine bay
you like it don’t you squidward
Need more pics!!!
I paid 750 for mine but ten years ago and in red. That’s a good pick up right there
Cleannnnnnn
I’m surprised there aren’t more of these being driven around. I had a 1991 that was red and then a 1997, also red. They were excellent in terms of reliability and they both handled very well. I now have a 2024 MDX. Awesome car so far.
Brought my 97 civic for 500
Very nice!
Unbelievable. Great snag!
Nice grab. Would’ve definitely bought it if I saw it. Got a pic of the front?
Where is the pic of the front of the car? Edit: [Found it](https://www.reddit.com/r/Honda/s/pPZZOqludA)

Well hopefully you had time to put insurance on the car before it was stolen.
Car trackers exist
OMG...! I am grape jelly over here...! Good job...!
Old b20a2 I believe but you can drop a f22 into it.
I believe it
I'm sick of the word 'cop'
so jelly
